I am getting ready to order my 5th birthday cake from Bee's Knees and decided to go on-line to look at what others have ordered to get ideas. I noticed that on Yelp they had less than a five star review and decided to investigate. I was surprised at what I found....2 didn't like their phone etiquette, 1 received a sample from next door "okay, one man from CT gave 1 star because they didn't serve coffee and one said something about the taste of the cake being a little dry but loved the icing! Seriously, this is why you give a 1 or 2 star review to a small business!?! First, they are really busy at lunch with their sandwiches, bakery items, preparing for catering and baking cakes and cupcakes!!! I find them to be direct and to the point when they answer the phone but not rude. It's lunch and this isn't Publix or Kroger, it is a small, independent business. Give them a little understanding. Be happy they answer the phone in these times! I'm glad to have a human and not please select a number or leave a message. To the man that gave one star for not having coffee....seriously!? Well go to Starbucks, enjoy their service and whatever you can find worth eating. Does that really qualify a one star review??? All I am saying is think before you leave one star. Give some grace....at least sometimes. Oh and one woman raved about the cupcakes but didn't like ONE of their flavors (she gave 2 stars)!!!! My experience has been wonderful. My husband absolutely LOVES their cakes as does everyone we have celebrated with. They are most accommodating in helping with a budget, short time in creating a masterpiece, helping decide on decorations, size and flavors. I'm always overjoyed with my cakes. I am going to post a picture of the last cake I ordered. It was perfect and tasted delicious!

I just wanted to make a review for these guys, but will come back and update with pictures. I came here beginning of November, and called ahead asking for a birthday cake for a sibling. I thought I was doing a bad job describing it, but based on the finish product I have nothing, but admiration and praise for them. We were so thoroughly impressed that even people at my siblings job wanted to know who it was that made the cake. I hope to edit the review later to put up the photos, but I've been here now 2 times and neither time disappointed us I'll be back soon for another birthday.

Bee’s Knees Bakery made a custom heart shaped cake for my birthday. The flavoring and decorations were done amazingly. I highly recommend purchasing a custom cake from here!

We ordered a 3-tier vanilla wedding cake and a chocolate groom’s cake with chocolate ganache for our wedding. Both were delicious! The groom’s cake had the Elven script from the One Ring in gold as the sole decoration, and even though the Bee’s Knee’s folks were not familiar with Lord of the Rings, it was perfect! Jaime was very professional and on top of things, something I couldn’t be more grateful for — especially in the midst of wedding planning. The salted caramel cupcakes and the gooey bars are awesome too!
I stopped in for a few cupcakes, bars and cake pops to treat my family. The carrot cake with cream cheese icing was absolutely delicious! Fresh, not dry and delish frosting. There were chocolate and Oreo cupcakes my grandson ate within seconds! Lemon and vanilla bars so rich it was impossible to eat in one sitting. I have been looking for their cookies but sold out by afternoon. I highly recommend!

I was back in Athens after a 13-year absence. Bee's Knees Bakery was on my short list of places to visit for the day. The double chocolate brownie is just as delicious and decadent as I remembered! The rich flavor brought memories flooding back. Thanks for being so consistently good Bee's Knees!

Great cupcakes. Moist and flavorful. Not a huge selection but they do personalized cakes for any occasion. Based on what I did try I will definitely consider getting my next cake there.

Just wanted to write a quick review of my experience. I have not been here but I called yesterday for inquiries and received VERY short answers. I happened to call the number back today thinking it was somewhere else.... And once I said "I'm sorry, I think I called the wrong number". I was immediately hung up on. There was no cordial "that's ok, thanks for calling anyway!" All in all, bad service! I have never been here... BUT I may have... but surely won't due to the fact of their phone etiquette. Two different people, and yet same service quality. In appealing to me.
