went to boars to watch the Alabama game last night and walked upstairs to get some service. Noticed my roommate in line and tried to talk to her because she was by herself- that’s when the bouncer cut me off and told me he wasn’t letting anyone in. I told him I understood that they have capacity and she’d get in when she could. That’s when the owner came over yelling at everyone to get out the way and yelled at me for talking to his bouncers. I again tried to be respectful and told him I was sorry and explain myself, then he told me I’m “not pretty enough to act that way” and I was appalled. I LOVED this bar and it really put a bad taste in my mouth. I asked if he were the owner and he said yes if you don’t like it you could leave and I said that was no way to talk to a customer OR a woman and he pushed me out of the bar making me drop my stuff along the way before I even got the chance to let my friends know I was leaving. I will NOT be back. This was Very heartbreaking to say the least, especially with a $40 cover per person. If I could leave no stars I would.

If you are okay with their employees choking your fiancée while throwing your drink away one minute after they close, then this is the place for you. Athens PD is a joke and won’t press charges. So don’t ever go to this bar.

I cannot express my disappointment with this bar. This used to be my favorite dive bar in Athens, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. The bouncers admit their "friends" over patrons who have been patiently waiting 15+ minutes in a line. When I brought this up to the bouncer, I was rudely told, "Go cry about it." I understand that the service industry is a stressful one, having worked in it myself, but that is no excuse for the inconsiderate, disrespectful behavior that I experienced here.
A friend of mine had her wallet stolen by an employee here and he made her venmo him to get it back. Definitely avoid this place.

A friend of mine had her wallet stolen by an employee here and he made her venmo him to get it back. Definitely avoid this place.

Do not go here!!! The bouncer, Nicholas Stachura, was harassing my friend outside the bar and when she wouldn’t reciprocate he took her wallet and made her Venmo him to get it back. The reason we have his name is because she venmoed him. A gross abuse of power and authority by a guy at the bar who thinks he can take advantage of young girls. Avoid at all cost and k really hope boars head has dealt with him accordingly.
