I believe this is the best barbecue in Athens and the surrounding area. I always prefer good food to polished surroundings. The atmosphere is typical of an established older roadside barbecue place serving takeout meals. All the food on the menu that I have ordered has been very good. Whoever’s doing the cooking really knows what they are doing and takes pride in feeding folks. Excellent comfort food in generous portions. I always eat in but they do a booming take out business...

The brisket and ribs are delicious. I am not big on bbq but this place is definitely an Athens staple. Their chicken muck or whatever people call it in the south is good. Simple food that matches the expectations.

Outstanding BBQ! Easily the best I have had in the past ten years!
I was here from DC visiting my son and was craving Southern BBQ (which does not exist in the DC area). This was the highest rated on the interweb and I certainly agree! I had the Buttwich sandwich (pulled pork) and my son had the Chopped Chicken sandwich. I also had the Corn Nuggets (with the What-What sauce for dipping) and he had the Mac n’ Cheese. All of it was perfect!
