All the Sunday brunch spots in Athens were slammed so I stopped in to Champy's. Nice dark hole-in-the-wall atmosphere that I love. Friendly prompt service- and not just from my server- but all the employees spoke which unfortunately is rarely the case. So then came the best part- the coleslaw!!! I mean, sure the chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy on the inside with a perfectly salted crispy crust- but the coleslaw was even better! Simple, chopped fine, not too much mayo, love it. A lot of places try toohard to be different with coleslaw and fail (like w raisins WTH?) Fried okra on point too. Seems like it'd be a great place to drink a beer and catch a game too.

In Athens for training and found this gem and went twice. Simply the chicken is GOOD! I ordered the chicken wings and it is the highlight of my dish. The coleslaw is meh just alright and the french fries was seasoned way too much. The chicken is succulent, crispy and seasoned just right. The only problem I had was tI went during winter and the restaurant was really cold so TURN ON THE HEAT!

If you're on the hunt for amazing food, awesome atmosphere, and friendly service, Champy's is the place to go! Prices are middle of the road but the portion sizes are humongous. The flavor of the fried chicken/tenders is to die for. The fried jalapeños are also fantastic! I definitely recommend this place to Athens residents and visitors!

Gotta say I was quite surprised to be blown away by a simple meal of chicken tenders and fries but I was. The tenders were crispy and juicy and the fries were great as well. S/O to the waitress who suggested a to go box without me asking bc I was clearly in a hurry.

This place is so overrated and I don't understand why. The food selection is limited, the flavor is abysmal, the atmosphere is tacky, everything is overpriced, and the service is bad. I don't know how this place is still in business.
Decent food but MY WORD THE PRICES! I paid $10 for 2 SMALL (REALLY SMALL) sides & a sweet tea. Never agian.
