My wife and I used to love coming to Dinner Party for dates when we would come back to Athens. Not sure if this was a part of Donna Chang’s having to “cancel” their name or not, but they now have almost no Asian cuisine entrees on their menu. People know of this restaurant because of their history of being one of the only places in five points where you could get good Asian food. We went last night and they did still have all their normal appetizers which was great, but they have taken practically all of their Asian cuisine dishes off of their entree menu other than fried rice. They have a new dish that is some type of fried chicken and the waitress recommended it to go with the fried rice. Terrible decision. This fried chicken was $40 for 7-8 pieces of bone-in chicken (this is not a southern cooking restaurant), a stack of Hawaiian rolls still all stuck together, and a bowl of red cabbage, and it DID NOT go well with fried rice in any way. I felt like I was at butt hutt and was ordering barbecue sandwiches or something like that. All of this to say we were HIGHLY disappointed with the way Dinner Party has changed their whole menu and we will not be returning any time soon.

Atrocious food, pushy service. We were interrupted every ten minutes by a cocktail pushing waitress. A second server did the same thing. It was ridiculous. The food was dry, over-fried and too heavily salted and seasoned. It is priced for a mid- to high-end Asian dinner experience, but with food court standards. Never again. Avoid.

I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. I feel this place is extremely LGBTQ+ friendly in their aura. I came alone due to wanting to try it for so long now! I loved that as the night got later they had the disco ball on!I absolutely loved the drinks! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐•Aviation (purple and so good!)•Pink Lady (vday special)•Zombie (good, but I prefer the aviation)~I was thoroughly impressed with the appetizers the most!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐•Miso soup (a surprising twist on a old classic, but SOOO good! Lots of cubed veggies and the taste was just amazing. Not your typical miso by any means!)•Smashed cucumbers (SO GOOD! Very refreshing and makes you literally want to inhale it!)•Shrimp egg rolls (I had a hard time with the sour dipping sauce since it was a relish consistency I had to use my fork to get it onto the rolls. I was not a fan of the spicy mustard since I don't typically like spicy foods. I also had a hard time seeing/tasting any shrimp, so I'm unsure how small the pieces are).⭐Unfortunately I was between the dry fryed eggplant, the tofu, or the mushu pork. I regrettably picked the tofu- I found the "carmelized" outer layer of the tofu was very... unappealing. As much as I keep trying to go back and give it another shot I just feel it tastes burnt? I normally love trying new foods and am 100% ok with knowing I may not be wowed, but I am certainly not someone who finds many foods inedible. It may just not be my taste, but as I'm not picky.. I am unsure where the disconnect is. I would 100% come again for the drinks, kind atmosphere, and AMAZING apps, but am apprehensive of trying another entree.

Excellent Dinner in Five Points. Waited for hour for table on Saturday night, but definitely worth the wait. several place nearby to have a drink while you wait. we ended up sitting at the bar which was even better. the bartenders were really nice, and made great drinks. we split appetizer and entree and it was plenty.

We heard so many great things about Dinner Party but were truly disappointed. The food was incredibly salty - literally every dish. The flavors were nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth the 90 minute wait.

Been here a couple times and have enjoyed the food. Fun atmosphere and great cocktail menu. It's a very small place though so if you have two people you'll probably be sitting a foot away from the next table. Despite the food being fairly good we've decided it just doesn't warrant the expensive price tag. Fun to try but too expensive.

Very nice little place for a quick, unique bite to eat. The atmosphere is good for an anniversary, but I wouldn't recommend trying to get to know a person here because the music and ambient sounds are quite hard to talk over. The food is very good, unique and shareable! I've never had a rendition of General Tso's Chicken quite like the one I got here and it was excellent. The drink menu is fun and uncommon with drinks to satisfy the most eccentric of tastes. I was impressed with the inside of the restaurant and the staff is very well versed in the menu, with several gluten free options that are very tasty. Overall, the food is good, but a little pricey looking at around 30 a person on average. The drink menu is unrivaled and the best way to describe the atmosphere is just plane fun!

First time here and we will definitely come back! Nice atmosphere and service, the food is great! Everything we tried was very well presented and tasted awesome, all the way to desert! Music was loud enough for you to carry out a conversation with not problem, it was a bit crowded when we got there, but that is good!

Such a mixed experience, some aspects great other lackluster. The egg rolls were absolutely amazing and the wontons were very solid. We also loved the braised beef noodle dish. The General Taos chicken dish was flavorless and tasted burnt. We didn't love the sake and the meal felt like it dragged on forever. Would I go back, maybe, but at that price point I expected everything would be great.
