Emmy Squared serves square, deep dish, Detroit style pizza. It probably is the best pizza place in Athens. The service was welcoming and prompt and the ambience is definitely above the norm for a pizza place - comfortable and more upscale feeling than most. The pizza is delicious, with fresh ingredients and has a caramelized, cheesy crust. They also serve other items that are good (mozzarella sticks, salads, etc.) that are above average but the pizza is the show.
The pizza was warm, not hot. Our server was not a natural. She asked us if we were ready for our check while we were still eating. Yet the restaurant was empty so no idea why she was rushing us. She gave us one hot pepper flake container for a table of 9. She never came back to check if we needed anything and never brought the mozzarella sticks were ordered. She's probably worked multiple server jobs but just not a natural. The only music came from the radio in the kitchen. The bathroom that I used hasn't been cleaned in weeks based on the ring in the toilet bowl that you get when a toilet hasn't been cleaned, the trash bin was overflowing with paper towels and the towel dispenser was broken and laying open. Yet the restaurant was dead and everyone is away for a football game. We had family in from out of town and going to this restaurant was a bad decision. These are all easy issues to fix.
Dinner was amazing, as it always is. Our server, Rae, recognized us from times before and that was so nice, too! This was our first time trying the burger and omg it was soooo good. I cannot stop telling people about it!
Great experience at Emmy Squared. Server was fantastic (Ray) and pizza was really good. Could tell everything about it was fresh. Will absolutely go again.
It was our first time going to Emmy’s square pizza and we love it. The pizza was so delicious, fluffy crust. We had the Miranda. And my husband had a hamburger which he said it was delicious.

Fantastic pizza! The lunch special was very affordable and delicious! Friendly staff as well!
Every time we go, we thoroughly read the menu, but we always end up getting the Miranda. And you should too. The ricotta cheese makes it creamy, the hot honey gives it a little heat ( personal opinion, could use more hot honey), overall delicious. My favorite pizza place downtown.

Great food in a cute venue. We wished our server had been more attentive, but the food was so awesome we could ignore it.
Have been here twice over the last month and I cannot wait to come back! The food is fresh and local and the drinks really do round out the gastropub vibes they were going for. The service is friendly, although it was hard both times to get someone to be seated, but that was a minor issue!
We've dined here several times. We love this place! The pizza, the Caesar salad and the service are always perfect. Shout out to Ashton who knocked it out of the park with our party of 7!

Great local pizza joint. The Detroit style polizza was hot fresh made to order and crispy.

Food was delicious. Was practically salivating at the mouth looking at other people's food waiting for mine. The MVP was delicious, and the burger was amazing as well.
Can’t believe how good it is. I got the watermelon salad and added chicken as well as the mvp pizza. More than enough to save. Delicious. Worth the cost.
