I had Emmy Squared Pizza for the first time last night. I was shocked. The best pizza I have had in almost 30 years. If you have a chance you must try it. The miso dressing and the brussel salad was equally amazing.

Food is excellent, but get take out - service was not good. Everyone's food arrived at different times. We could see server in the back doing to go orders while we couldn't get service. Ceasar arrived with only lettuce. So disappointing....

The food was phenomenal! My only complaint is there were no additional drink options for my toddler other than apple juice, lemonade would be a great option! The staff were amazing and so polite! Our waitress, Shali, was awesome and very patient! Overall, some of the best pizza we have ever had!

This is probably the best thick crust pizza in Athens!

Food was great. Server wasn’t very friendly and made me think I was bothering them.

Very chaotic service. After a very long wait, the salad came out AFTER the pizza. Pizza was already lukewarm by the time it hit the table. Server never came back until the end, tho other staffers stepped in cheerfully when asked for help. Previous visit was much better.

If you like thick crust pizza, you may like Emmy Squared. It's not what I prefer. The service was great, the Brussels sprout salad and Caesar salad were delicious, the venue is pleasant, but I prefer thin crust pizza so only 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

Considering I've only seen Detroit pizza reviews on YouTube, Emmy Squared seems to be doing it right. The crust was crisp and the toppings were layered properly. Sauce on top of cheese.... We had the Classic, VIP, and Big Ang. We generally liked them but a couple things stood out. The sauce on the VIP Classic seemed too concentrated and acidic. Also the sausage was little crumbles and we were hoping for larger pieces. The Caesar salad was good. You could taste the anchovy in the dressing. Service was excellent. Lastly the skinny Margaritas were perfect. Looking forward going again

We were seated promptly and waited 20 minutes for someone to take our initial drink order. No one ever came. The restaurant wasn't particularly crowded, so I'm not sure what the deal was. I suppose I will never know what the food tastes like.

As someone who grew up and lived most of their childhood in the Detroit area eating Detroit style pizza I am SO impressed with this pizza. It is spot on and makes me nostalgic for the days mom would say she was bringing home Jets or Buddy’s. I love this pizza.

My daughter turned 22, I surprised her with a visit and birthday dinner with some of her friends. Couldn't have chosen a better place to take eleven 20ish year old girls! Everything was perfect! Will definitely go back next time I visit Athens!

Finally tried Emmy Squared after hearing mixed reviews. I made a reservation (thank goodness another place that accepts reservations!) - and I am so glad I did! They get super busy around 6:30. We opted for an early reservation as we had plans later and were sat immediately. We ordered drinks - one which came pretty quickly and the other the server clearly forgot about as she came back to confirm what drink it was. We ordered cheese sticks and a pizza. It took a while for the cheese sticks to come out (like 30-40 mins), which was weird as they were not very busy. The pizza came out shortly thereafter. Nothing wrong with the food, just nothing special either. I would say you can skip this place.

The food was bomb and relatively cheap! We got the Cesar with the vodka pizza and topped it off with the brownie skillet (which we scraped clean). The ambiance was really cute and would def be a great date night spot. BUT what took the cake was the service. From the second we got there, the hostess made accommodations to get us sat ASAP and our server Maddie was SO sweet and good at her job. Totally recommend Emmy's!

Disappointing, but at least they take reservations! This was our first time at Emmy Squared. I read before that their pizza was disappointing, but I was seduced by the pictures of deep dish Detroit-style pizza with carmelized cheese along the edge. I made a reservation and we were sat right away, which was great. The hosts were pleasant and helpful. Our server was pleasant, but we realized pretty quickly that while pleasant she wasn't a great server. We ordered 2 drinks for our table - a Diet Coke and a Kick in the Falls cocktail. The DC showed up quickly, but 10 mins in and we still had no cocktail. A couple minutes later our server came back to confirm the drink order, so she forgot to put it in. The restaurant only had a couple inside tables and 5 outside tables when we arrived, but it took the food nearly 45 mins to come out. While fresh, it was disappointing with a serious lack of flavor on the pizza. It was clear they wanted to turn the table when she delivered the check while we were still eating. I have heard great things about their burgers, but not sure I will try them when a pizza place can't even get their namesake right.

Solo dining for the night and this was a great choice. I sat at the bar around 5pm. The place was pretty empty. 4.4 overall. The good: service at the bar was excellent, although i was only one there. I ordered 3 pies to try a variety and bring some home. They were all good but the classic could have used more cheese and the colony was a little sweet for me but the pizza was a 7.8/10 and vip the best out of the lot. Ambiance was nice, bathrooms clean. The few challenges: you're paying for the rent a little in the prices, and the cocktails were expensive for well tequila and 4-5oz of actual liquid. Stick with wine. No beer taps. No obvious parking. Bar seats uncomfortable.I would definitely return when I'm back in the area with family, but i would be selective with timing to avoid the college crowd.
