I swear I felt like I was in sumbody Auntie or Great-Grandmaw house. Food is delicious and they were even bringing fresh food out until bout 10/15 mins til closing. Being in food/bev Industry myself, I think that showed Great customer service and a heart to be fair and want everyone to have the same respectable service. God Bless yall and thank you.

Outstanding!! Real home cooked food.... My kind of little homey hole in the wall joint!!
I had one piece of fried chicken, one baked, butter beans, and greens.
Next time I'll try the fried pork chops.

best soul food i’ve ever had, and definitely the best in athens. everything was piping hot, fresh, and tasted like it was made with so much love. fried chicken was so good i didn’t even use hot sauce. gonna be one of my go to restaurants now.

The chicken was ok but that Mac n cheese was garbage I wouldn't eat here again. Not worth price.

Haven’t been since I was about twelve years old as far as I can remember I’m now twenty six and it was a hit me and my son enjoyed it all

I sought a place for a much needed spiritual and dietary recharge! I ate all but 4 food items from the buffet. All of the food tasted fresh, handmade, and appropriately seasoned. Cost was under $20.00 on a Sunday!

This no frills restaurant is decorated with simple chairs and tables that make you feel like you're at a small church gathering eating with complete strangers, who all feel like friends.

If Google offered a 4th category to rate this restaurant, I'd call the category 'Fulfillment.' And I'd give this place another 4 star!

Amazing! The food is sooo good and they keep putting out fresh food even until close :) They also make sure guests wear gloves when getting food from the buffet which is very appreciated! Absolutely worth way more than the price!!! And the folks who run the place are also very nice :)

Man. I didn't think they had these places anymore. Down home in the cut. Aunties in the kitchen. Serve yourself after you clean your hands and put on disposable gloves. All the choices just like Thanksgiving dinner.

Very good all-you-can-eat. Fried fish and tartar sauce were my overall favorite, though. Tables needed to be cleaned off, but it is understandable that they weren't because it was packed. Fried chicken, okra, and deviled eggs were also really good, of course.

Home cooked meal! When you want Grandma's cookin... Everything was from scratch so if you know you know. Excellent is an understatement!! Macaroni and cheese, Fried Pork Chops, Fried Chicken, Pan Gravy. These are things you have high expectations of and are usually disappointed at buffet places like this. NOT HERE, NOT TODAY! I did the buffet at lunch but service was great. The dining area is small, maybe 50 max at a tight squeeze, the buffet size matches that but that allows for FRESH food continuously. I was there almost an hour and everything was extremely fresh throughout my visit. Dessert wasn't out on the buffet but they brought me a slice of lemon cake. This may have been in my best interest because I PROBABLY would have needed to be carried out on a stretcher. It was all that good!!! I'll definitely be back with my family!!! $18 with a 20% tip. She should own Golden Corral...

Parking: There's three or four spots. Gotta get in where you can or walk.

Very small restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing! Someone’s grandma is in the kitchen putting her whole heart in to that food. Fried pork chops, fried chicken, fried okra, rice, gravy, deviled eggs, stewed tomatoes, cornbread, mac and cheese. ALL of it was delicious.

Food for the Soul immediately made it to my top 5 favorite restaurants in Athens! I forgot to take a picture before eating, so this was my plate halfway through. This has to be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Granted, I’m from New Jersey, so I don’t have a ton to compare it to, but damn, I can’t stop thinking about it. Also, I work on baxter and this is one of the best deals I’ve found for lunch in this area. I got a meat, two sides and corn bread for $12. The mac & cheese ran out right when I got there, so I’ll have to try that next time. Also, they were playing Sade which only added to the experience. ALSO it was super quick and easy to serve myself and check out which is perfect when you only have a 30 minute lunch.

EDIT: I just learned that it’s pork chop LOL whatever, it’s the best pork chop I’ve ever had
