They don't know how to steam vegetables properly and make them tender or even at least a little crunch at least. Their mashed potatoes taste like they're microwaved frozen. Their steak...was wayyy undercooked. It was red bleeding when I ordered Medium. I wonder if it was even safe to eat. Their bread is very plain. Might as well put toast in your toaster because you'd get better food that way. Service was lacking and I think the lady was new but forgot to refill our glasses a lot. They didn't have any proper steak sauce either...which blows my mind if they call themselves a steakhouse. I don't understand why such bad food is priced like it is. In summary, it's worth avoiding this place. You'll have a big hole in both your wallet and your stomach.

Great atmosphere, great customer service, great music, and great food-from drinks to even dessert. We truly enjoyed ourselves! We didn’t even know but we showed up in time for Happy Hour and got half off on the appetizer and we came on a day with a New York Strip special! A huge shout out to Anna for her awesome personality and her wonderful customer service!
We will be back and we will tell others!
The only regret I have is that I didn’t take any pictures of our food!
Thank you Anna and Frank & Sons Neighborhood Bistro!

The wine was not a 5 oz pour. Maybe a 2 oz pour. The steak &30.00 was thinner than e Waffle House TBone. We ordered the Ribeye. The steak was 30% fat. It was supposed to be a ribeye but wasn’t close. Had to ASK for bread and when we got it, the butter was solid instead of melted. Staff was nice. Not their fault. Side (roasted veggies) were few. The appetizer (calamari) was slight in volume at best. Overall, very disappointing and will never return. This place has potential. The owners need to pay attention to “Quality, Quality, Quality!!””. Buyer beware!! A Forrester

Ordered through Door Dash a shrimp poboy. There were 5 small grilled shrimp and the description says fried shrimp. The sandwich was all bread and drenched in sauce to the point part of it was soggy. The shrimp were so small and overcooked that it was a sauce sandwich. Never again!!

We were a very large lunch group and the server handled it heroically even if it took awhile for the food to come out and some were done before others served. The burger special at $10.99 including a side was a steal and excellent. Also great fries

Just got done eating there for this first time this morning 9/1. Food was really good. Atmosphere looked top notch. Inside very nice. However, the service was EXTREMELY SLOW. One person waiting the tables and making drinks. She was very sweet but bless her, it was just super slow. If you were to get a mixed drink, like a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa, it took around 4-5 mins. I was actually getting anxiety as we were the only folks in there eating brunch. However, when more people started showing up I knew if we didn’t get our checks, with how slow the service was, it would probably be about 30 mins trying to get checks while she was trying to take drink and food orders from the other two tables. We got there a couple of mins before 11a and didn’t leave till 12:25pmish. I’d like to go back because the food was decent but I’m reverently apprehensive with how slow the service was….

I enjoyed my visit to Frank & Sons and would not mind eating there again. The steak was a bit underseasoned but was cooked as ordered. The house salad was very nice and the steak fries were a good side dish.

Our server was very nice but had to be asked several times for the same things, including water refills. Their happy hour only includes very limited items but they aren’t specified on the menu. My sangria had no fruit in it and tasted like a syrupy Capri Sun. My salmon was very dry and came with a tiny drizzle of sauce. Two of us asked for a little extra sauce and were charged $1 each for it (which we weren’t told and seems crazy considering the prices of the entrees). The salmon was overly salted but the roasted potatoes were barely seasoned and the steamed broccoli had no seasoning at all. The crepes were chewy and tough. This was just not a $50 meal. I really wanted this to be a good experience - the Eastside needs more local restaurants. Unfortunately I can’t imagine returning or recommending it to others.

We came here for lunch and it did not disappoint. The server was very kind and gave great service.
We ordered the Franks burger, Strawberry Salad, and the BLT. The food portions were nice sized and very tasty. For lunch, this place is a good choice. We'll be back for dinner!

A lovely steakhouse for Athens’ east side. The food, background music, and attentive service - all pleasing.
