It might pass unnoticed being next to so many big fast food restaurants, but Mama Sid's is a real jewel! Is the best pizza I had in Athens, but furthermore, the price was low and the people inside were really nice and friendly. What else can you ask for?! I recommend the buffet option to have more vaiety and (especially if you are a big foodie like me) to have more slices. Is great, especially with groups of friends.

I honestly love this place. Love the food and the people. Mama Sid is so nice and everyone that works there. Some upscale person that walks off the street might be a lil scared when they walk in but it just adds to the charm. Fond family memories here at Mama Sid’s!

I LIKE Mama Sid's pizza. It's not pretentious. It is plain, honest food from a local restaurant that is always good, always affordable and always consistent. It is old-fashioned and comfortable. It is the land-line of pizza in Athens, always dependable. Is there better pizza to be found in town? Yes. But will you find that at the same price, with the same friendly people behind the counter and manning the ovens making a consistently good product for years? I don't think so.

So can't say anything great here except the woman at the counter was very nice. I ordered a sausage and pepper sub and they used that cheep pizza sausage nuggets that look like dog food kibble . Frankly I was more embarrassed for them then I was mad
My fiancé and I were at Mama Sids restaurant the evening of 8/2/25. Ms Jordan was our host and she treated the two of us like family. In spite of everything that was going on in the restaurant with other customers she remained a gracious host. I applaud ms Jordan for remaining composed, greeting and treating all customers in a friendly manner and being a kind and gracious host. Mama Sids pizza was delicious!
