Mama's Boy at The Falls of Oconee

This place has gone downhill. The food has less flavor than previous years. The pancakes taste like tap water. As far as the service goes, they have SO many people working but the employees still seem clueless. Took my son to the restroom and came back to a completely cleared table. We hadn’t even received our food yet. They cleared the table of all our drinks and even my car keys! The table number was still there? They also tell you it’s a lot less of a wait time than it actually is. We will not be returning!

Cold grits cat hair but great menu just let me down on presentation and cold food.

We had a gift card and decided to visit. The food was fair to good. Service was fast but drink/coffee refills didn’t happen. Pricing is a touch high for what you get.

I've eaten at the original location which at the time had cosy, full service. I chose to go to the newer location at The Falls of Oconee figuring there would be more parking available. But this rendition isn't full service. This location is order at the counter. The staff does at least help you buss the table at the end of your meal. This location was ideal families with small children and there are several child seats and unisex bathrooms equipped with diaper changing. Food wise, this was not as good as I remember.

I ordered Truck Stop Biscuit and Gravy. This comes with a Sweat Tea Brined Chicken Breast and Sausage Gravy. I asked if I should order extra Gravy and was told no. But the Gravy doesn't fully cover both sides of the biscuit. This is the same situation with the piece of Chicken. This dish has Scambled Eggs on top of the Gravy. There is no real discernment of Sausage in this Gravy. The Biscuit is large and soft. The Potato Hash is plain with Onions and Green Peppers or flavoring and spices. I had Sweat Tea but it tasted a bit stale.

My dining companion had a Bacon, Egg, and Cheddar Biscuit but it was missing the Cheddar. He asked for a small Milk but this was really sized for a child.

As a side dish, I ordered Bacon. For $4.99 I got two pieces of bacon.

Ambiance does not compare to the original location.

In town and came during Christmas Holiday. I had really wanted this to be a nicer meal. In the future, I would not bring a guest to this location.

Parking: We went on a Sunday morning when the other businesses in the shopping plaza were closed. There was plenty of parking.

Ate here this morning. Ordered the sausage/pepper bowl and the tricycle breakfast. Bacon was so hard I was scared my braces would break. (Not joking). Cheese Grits were bland and tasteless (kinda had a slimey taste). Pancakes were good. Potatoes were very dry. Overall, left half the food on the plate untouched and got food elsewhere.

My fried green tomato eggs benedict were tough, flavorless. The potatoes were like rubber nuggets. Stick with eggs and grits. The enthusiasm from the staff was non-existent and shared my concern with the woman behind the register. Said sorry.

This place was perfect until they stopped doing espresso :(

They have counter service now but still expect a tip. The strange side to that is you have to serve yourself. I watched everyone get their own coffee and they never said a word to us. That’s so irritating. The food quality has gone down too. It’s average but you can get MUCH better. This used to be our favorite Athens breakfast. Marking it off the list

The food is great. We believe it's a similar looking sibling stealing the commercial retail building possession that leads to blowing the door by small missle strike on improper containment using syndicate improperly

There is a severe problem when your food is served cold and is over cooked. I'll never return to, nor recommend Mama's Boy!

A bit of an echoey place, which is not my favorite. Great food and kind staff! Will continue to eat here, just maybe outside when possible.

Excellent, when in Athens, make sure not to miss a visit to Mama's Boy, either location but the one at the Falls has a great patio area overlooking the Falls. The food is excellent at all locations.
