Prepare for a brutally honest review. The hype around Mama's Boy is insane. However, the breakfast food here is merely average. I have not had anything mind-blowing from here and I have been multiple times with friends. I would venture to say that the ambiance is the draw to this place. The last point I would like to make is that the service is largely hit or miss, at least in my experience. They are always nice enough though. For those of you visiting Athens, there are other breakfast places (even chains, to be honest) that outperform Mama's Boy in terms of taste. For a nice breakfast with friends, however, this restaurant does the trick.

My family and I went on a Saturday and they were busy since they were five of us it took about 20 minutes to sit us and they are a small restaurant only bad thing. You ordered before you sit down. But one you do it do not take long to get your order. I ordered the perminto cheese burger. Juice and full of flavor.
I ordered a dish with hollandaise sauce. Very minimal sauce. I love hollandaise sauce and ordered the dish because of the sauce. I would have appreciated more than a dab of sauce. My husband enjoyed his typical favorite of eggs, meat, biscuits, and gravy.

My husband and I had Mama’s Boy cater for our brunch wedding; and Cooper and her team absolutely was the best! The food was AMAZING, the service wonderful and all our guests kept telling us how delicious the food was.
They also worked with us to taylor a menu around my husband’s Filipino cuisine and culture. Everything was top notch!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 100%

A nice little breakfast spot just off the UGA campus. We had the peach French toast meal and a chicken biscuit. The French toast was very good. The chicken was dry and not very flavorful, and the biscuit was average. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.
