Interesting sushi, but it's a college town. I went solo on a Saturday afternoon (away-game weekend) and was seated promptly. It took a little while to speak with my waiter and he was a little hard to find throughout my entire meal, but overall I was watching videos on my phone so I didn't mind until I needed my bill. Based on a friend's recommendation I tried the Erika 2 roll and the value ahi-tuna roll (together my bill came to $24 - I wonder if they charged me for the spicy Mayo and teriyaki sauce). The Erika 2 roll was good! The steak on top was a great addition, the special sauce it came with was interesting and reminded me of the base of clam chowder.. I can see why they paired it but something about it (maybe the texture) was kind of like . The ahi tuna roll was 10/10 no complaints here and reminded me of a poke bowl. I was kind of bummed they didn't have eel sauce, but they did give me teriyaki and an interesting version of spicy mayo. So overall, the experience was good but there were just a few nuisances that make you say 'hm'.

I ordered a tsunami poke bowl and it was beyond perfect! Flavors are well blended and ingredients are fresh! I love it! I requested for less rice and they made sure it was right! Thank you Rusan's chefs.Dietary restrictions: Less carbs

I ordered suki rolls from Rusan and it was delicious and well prepared. All ingredients are fresh and the salmon is just melted in your mouth. So delicious I will definitely order again and most probably try their different rolls. Keep up the good work Rusan we enjoyed the sushi! So yummy!

I am an avid sushi eater, and I've been looking to try new sushi restaurants in Athens. Rusans was on my list of places to try--in particular the Alpharetta location so I was excited to try the one in Athens. I went by myself on a Friday afternoon and there was no wait. I was seated immediately and the waiter took my order rather promptly. I ordered the Erika 2 (she said it was her favorite roll) and the spicy scallop aioli roll. Both were very good! If you're not a fan of obviously raw sushi, you would like the Erika 2. I was interested in what the taste would be like with the beef on top but it was pleasantly good! I asked for a side of their brown sauce (which I'd say was comparable to eel sauce) and it definitely elevated the flavor. Both rolls landed me a total of $22 which I would say was a great deal! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of their rolls.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch today and fell in love with their food. The pan fried noodles with the vegetables was so fresh and delicious. We could see the chef cooking our order so we knew it was fresh. What a refreshing change and we can't wait to try the entire menu

Came in for dinner with two friends and no one else was dining. We each ordered two rolls and it took 40 minutes for them to arrive. The ingredients were far from fresh and the prices are not below average so in summary it was a pretty disappointing dinner and would not return.

Best Sushi and service in town! Very friendly staff and a neat place to bring the family. We've been eating here for 7 years and have never been disappointed. Give it a try! Close and the chefs are awesome!!

I’ve been going here for years. It used to be a amazing food for a great price, but now it seems to be plastic food for double the price. On top of the quality and price decrease, I’ve had the same waitress several times that does not seem to care about her job and will not check up for drinks or anything. She disappears after serving food. This place is not what it used to be and I will not be returning.

Always a superior experience ! The owners make a point of knowing what I love! They’ll help you find the dish of your life!!! Sapporo pairs fabulously with sushi and they have it on draft! I don’t even know everything in the Love Me Roll, but it’s AMSZING!!

I first ordered food from here on DoorDash but today I stopped in for one of their Poke bowls. I have had the Tsunami Poki bowl twice and it did not disappoint either time. The tuna and salmon were so fresh. The rice, avocado, and seaweed salad are fresh and wonderful. Their special Poki sauce puts it over the top.I seriously recommend this place. The interior of the restaurant is a little dated, but the food makes it all worth it!!

Overpriced mediocre Americanized Asian food. Portions are small, food is not good, dishes are dirty or have a weird bleach film on them. Athens continues to disappoint when it comes to Asian food.

I ordered on UberEats and I did not receive the Banana Foster which they described on the UberEATS menu as a mini cream puff with chocolate syrup. Instead I received ice cream and some bananas with a weird strawberry sauce on them. But there was definitely no cream puffs as described. i would have just let it slide if the strawberry banana thing had tasted good but it was awful so I threw it away. I also ordered an aoli sauce and paid extra for it, but didn't receive it. I also ordered a boba tea and the boba was terrible and soggy and the milk tea was also not good. I ordered shrimp fried rice and asked in the notes section if they could add mushrooms, but they didn't. However, it isn't a usually ingredient for that dish on their menu. So that I can understand. But the shrimp fried rice was some of the worst I've ever had. It wasn't completely inedible so I managed to force myself to eat what I could but ultimately threw the rest away. I also got a miso soup which was pretty basic and tasted ok. It just didn't have any seaweed or tofu pieces in it like a lot of other places do. It was just the broth, but it did taste ok. The only good thing I had was the vegetable gyozas. They were the only good tatsing item I received.

Servers were super sweet but I’m giving it one star because the food was really bad.My miso soup was served in a bowl that was chipped on three different parts of the rim which made it look super cheep. The fried rice tasted strange and thankfully they swapped it out for white rice but even that tasted strange…. I can’t explain it but the white rice had this slight after taste. I don’t know what they did but some how they messed it up white rice.Me and my one year old got chicken Kat sue and it made our stomachs ache after…. The veggies that can with my plate had the same weird taste as the fried rice which makes me wonder if they’re cooking everything with the same pan or oil? I’m not sure…. But it did not taste good.I got one of their milk teas too and the boba in it was under cooked….To me everything is overpriced because the quality of the food is very low.Atmosphere is super dark and gloomy… made you question the cleanliness.Me and my son don’t eat out often and I budget everything each month so I’m very bummed I wasted our eating out money on this place….

A family owned restaurant that puts care in their food and customers. Ordered dinner plates before and the sushi and both never fail to excite me. Both taste amazing and portions are pretty big for dinner, left full and satisfied. The sushi options are abundant and none are lackluster they all taste fresh. I think the photo will speak for itself when i come to Ru San’s? Overall a good pick for Athens dining.

So! Two stars… the sushi was great for the price, I might order some to go another day but that would definitely be it! It’s sad, because everyone was super nice and the food come quick, which brings me to another point. Hubs got chicken fried rice and I am pretty certain it was frozen and heated up, I had spicy ramen and the broth tasted like bland miso. Our friends ordered an array of things and just like us only liked the sushi, and like us believe the food was frozen, hence the reason for the quickness! It’s inexpensive had the food been good but since it wasn’t that makes it cheap!
