Wow, this is a great old fashioned taste. I can remember getting a Schlotzsky's with my daddy when I was a little girl in the 1970's! Schlotzsky's has been in Athens as long as I have! 😂 The original is as good as I remember and always floods me with memories!

Absolutely the best sandwich shops in athens. Out of the two I've been to in Athens. This is by far the best sandwich shop in Athens. The lady who works the register on Saturday is absolutely amazing. And so funny. I give her fifteen out of five stars. I shall keep consistently keep showing up to buy the number seven with jalapeno chips. BEST SANDWICH EVER. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

This was the first time in years I have ate here and was not disappointed. I ordered baked potato soup and it was good. My friend order the Reuben and I had to try it and it was really good and I am picky with a Reuben so I would definitely order it if I was in the mood for one. I am ready to try something else.

The Greek salad was a joke. There were 5 very very small chicken pieces. Two tomatoes pieces half the size of a penny. The rest was lettuce. Never again!! A waste of money.

I’m currently writing reviews to all the places I love! I don’t think I’ve ever had anything I didn’t like off the menu. Saying that it is extremely hard for me not to just get the Original. This I’m sure will be a childhood memory for my boys of always going here and them getting the delicious sourdough pizza and me and my oldest splitting a giant Original. Oh and pair it with the jalapeño chips.

Had a previous bad experience with the drive-thru customer service. My mother tried ordering a dozen cookies. The staff on hand claimed it was impossible to ring up.
However; Rachel Strickland (the manager) handled the matter professionally, and swiftly. She showed the staff how to ring it up correctly. Therefore; my mother was able to purchase a dozen cookies.
Appreciate the great customer service from Ms. Strickland.

I am a food critic that tries sandwiches from all around the metropolitan Atlanta area, and I had one of my close buddy’s tell me about this place called Schlotzsky’s in Athens, Georgia. So, I decided to plan a trip to come to Athens and try this sandwich shop, and the second I walked into this place, I noticed that the atmosphere was electric. The people in there were extremely nice when I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted, and the kind lady taking my order suggested “The Original”. So, I got it and sat down and when I got my food I could already tell that it was going to be good based on the aroma of the sandwich. It had smoked ham with Genoa, which was amazing. Also, it had cotto salamis, cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, red, onions, mustard, and their signature sauce which was to die for. Overall I would rate this place a 8.7 out of 10, and the only reason I would not rate it higher was because the bun was a little soggy with all of the sauces and juices from the ham.
Soup and sandwich combo is my go to here.
