Great ambience, especially for a Sunday afternoon. Seated right away. Food was good but the grits are a very small serving. The omelet was tasty and overall pleasant. Nice brunch or date spot. Go for the setting, moderate price point, and the food is decent.

Wow this place was amazing!! The customer service was too notch. The hostess, server, and manager was super friendly. Everyone loved their food in our party. The portobello burger was the best! It was so delicious ! The sauces that come with tots were amazing. Highly recommend!!

I love it here, I just love the atmosphere the staff is friendly and welcoming! This is my second time here! I had the hala lamb chops and boy oh boy YEP DELICIOUS! I also order the cornbread skillet! This time around I am grabbing the chicken confetti and Fried Green Tomatoes and of course the cornbread skillet! The service was great both times I dined in the first time this time is to go so i’ll let you know!

I've been to this restaurant three times in the past year. Two of the times we were greeted by a frowny faced hostess who unapologetically told us the wait would be 40 minutes or more --during lunch with half the restaurant empty. The third time I was part of a large party. An automatic 20% gratuity was added, which I'm totally fine with, but I'm not fine with the server not telling anyone this, and presenting us with a tip line to fill out. I would definitely skip this restaurant. The food is mediocre at best and their claim to fame are tater tots which is pretty lame when your bill for two is $60+

I recently dined at South Kitchen + Bar and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and delicious flavors. I ordered the Mac & Cheese and the Nashville Hot Chicken, both of which were mouthwatering and satisfying. The portions were quite generous and I had plenty of food as leftovers for the next-day's lunch. The service was a bit slow, which seemed to be due to only one waitress managing the entire restaurant. However, the kitchen did a great job, as the food arrived fairly quickly. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between casual and lively, making it an ideal spot for both group outings and intimate conversations. It's a place where you can unwind and enjoy a good meal without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Overall, South Kitchen + Bar offers a great dining experience with its hearty Southern-inspired dishes and relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Tater Tots in duck fat were pure fire! Crispy crunchy on the outside with a warm soft potatoey filling. Duck fat gives it just the right amount of "flavor funk". Love the fried green tomatoes as well with that amazing ranch dressing and spices mayo! Need to come back and really explore the menu.... Got my eye on the Shrimp and Grits!

A must try restaurant in Athens. Very good friendly service. Very neat atmosphere. We ordered, Hot Georgia fries, a Hot Chicken Sandwich, and Shrimps and Grits. The food was exceptional. The fries were soft and coated with Cajun seasoning and cumin powder. The chicken was very juicy and crispy. The grits were cheesy, shrimp was crispy and well balanced with vinegar infused collard green.
