Terrible Atmosphere
1st time and worst impression EVER
That was our experience. I don't think I have ever written a review like this bf nor has there been a need to but i feel the need to warn other descent people. The music being played in there was the nastiest I have ever heard. Music PORN is how to describe it. What i would imagine being played at a strip joint! Being with a group of ladies my husband asked the young guy TWICE behind the bar to turn the music to something not so vulgar. He smirked laughed and kept playing it. He even continued to argue with him after he asked the 2nd time. We were literally the only customers in there. I understand this is a college town where that's the norm & if the place was packed I'd understand. But again we were the only ones in there. My husband said " man I have my wife and a group of ladies here" Such a disrespectful punk of a kid working there & we will never be back.
We were here on Tu night the 5th of Aug from about 8:00- 9:00. We almost left bf our bowling game was done and would have stayed much longer but we will not return. My husband even went and asked him a 2nd time. How hard would it have been for him to say to the PAYING customer "sure we can switch it up, what would you like?" It really spoke volumes that even another customer downstairs said *that's why I never go up there, it's disgusting "

Wish I could tell you anything about the place unfortunately the guy running the place would barely answer a question and made us feel unwanted so we just left. No need in being somewhere you aren't wanted.
Pretty disappointing, my son and i have always wanted to try duckpin bowling and it's not very common to find a duckpin house so when we saw this place and we were in Athens for vacation we got excited but obviously it didn't work out..

Okay place except the manager is a total D-bag. White guy with a cheap looking chain. Was very short with us while we were getting drinks and overheard him being very rude and crass toward a younger female employee. Do better!

My husband took me bowling here on a Friday night as an early weekend date. We got there very early, right at 5 when they opened and it was such a fun date! It's super cute upstairs and the bartender was great. We had the upstairs to ourselves since it was so early and I loved that. They played great music and I had a red wine. We will be back, for sure! ;)

I love this bar. The staff are awesome. Me and my family sat outside and watched the college kids walk by. It was so cool. Some were dressed in evening gowns, with tuxedo dressed dates. It was like watching a crazy fashion show. The bar is huge. They have a second floor bar upstairs with bowling lanes. The building is so beautiful on the inside. Nice pool table, very level.

Nice little place had an office Christmas party upstairs did a little bit of small Pin bowling it was catered the food was presented well tasted well kept stock and heated. Service was very good. Definitely an enjoyable venue to have an event. Will swing back on my own as well.
It’s such a cute place perfect for a mini game of bowling & drinks. My bf and I loved it!

Admittedly, I was a huge fan of Transmet, so when it went OOB I was disappointed. While I will always miss their pizza... Starland Lounge came through with an awesome alternative and something different and better than all the other bars in Athens. Highly recommend Starland, go check it out!
