It's decent. There were 3 people who helped us. But it appeared that 1 was a host, 1 was a server and 1 was the cook or possibly manager. If it was the cook y'all need to have a conversation with your FOH. They were just standing around up front while the lovely young man with braids helped us. He was sweet, knowledgeable and attentive. He made more eye contact and spoke to us 3 times as much as the other FOH people. Who mostly sat us, took the order and then told us we had to pay up front. Which I felt horrible doing because the person who helped us should have gotten the tip. I'm not okay with restaurants that make their employees split tips equally when it's so obvious that equal work isn't being done. You want them to be paid fairly? Pay them fairly and charge more for your food. If it's worth it, service and food wise, people will pay it. If I find out a restaurant does this kind of tip sharing I don't go because 99% of the time some or all of the employees are being taken advantage of.

Very tasty goat curry. I will visit over and over again.
My recent visit to the restaurant was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to their outstanding food and impeccable service. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and ensured we felt right at home. The ambiance was inviting, with a perfect blend of modern and traditional decor that set the tone for a memorable meal.
We ordered a variety of dishes, each one a testament to the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The mango lassi was a refreshing start, perfectly balanced with creamy yogurt and a burst of sweet mango flavor—chilled to perfection. The fish koliwada arrived crispy and golden, spiced just right with a tangy marinade that made every bite a delight. The lamb tikka masala was the amazing cooked in a rich, creamy tomato sauce that was bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced. Accompanying the mains, the tandoori roti was soft

I ordered Saag Paneer through Uber eats and got Paneer Tikka masala. I called the restaurant and they said it was not their problem. I would move on
The paneer tasted awful.😞. But I guess it's Athens.GA. It was still pretty bad considering my lowered expectations

Food is great! I’ve only ever bought orders to-go, but it’s always packaged well and still hot when I get home.
Their takeaway phone number does not work, so you either have to go to the store to order or pay an upcharge on doordash
Life is full of pain and suffering and regret. But you can leave that all behind for an hour or so when you visit the new and much improved Taste of India.
Maybe you're like me. An Athens native who remembers when Taste of India was a food bar that weighed your plate of food and charged by the milligram. Well not no more, Jimmy.
Now it's a restaurant with probably my favorite menu in Athens so far. I eat mostly vegan/ vegetarian and this place has a GREAT selection for folks like me.
Food was great. Price was great. And to top it all off there's a waitress there named Lottie who genuinely loves the menu and is so kind and helpful and just super good at her job. Not to mention the guy who brings out the food and everyone I had contact with.
Anyways. Since this is the Internet, I'll complain. The location looks very nice and clean but it needs more culture imo. Music is great though.
Five stars. Go.

Don't let people tell it isn't the same since they moved out of downtown. Good Indian food. Good prices.

Everything was wonderful until the end of the meal. It is very rude to ask a customer who is still eating to pay. I have worked in the service industry, and I would understand if it was say, 30 minutes after close, or we had been there an extraordinarily long time, but neither was the case. We were asked to pay 5 minutes before close and warned that they would be closing soon. Seriously five bites left on the plate. Just wait five minutes. Food was excellent, but the staff is more concerned about going home early than providing an inviting experience for their customers.

Taste of India is located in a very pleasant cul de sac with plenty of shady parking. The restaurant is spacious and cool with a separate side bar in case you have to wait or you're an alkie :-)
The food was pretty tasty: tandoori chicken, saag paneer, vegan samosas, and mango lassi. We asked if the kitchen was oriented towards spicy (yes) so we ordered mild for the malai kofta and it was actually s bit bland but not bad.
Service was good. Ambience is minimalist. We were seated right away and served pretty quickly. All in all really quite good

The food is always good. fresh, hot, well seasoned. The atmosphere is a little bland. They remembered halfway through our meal to turn on the ambient music so it stopped being so empty sounding. The walls are bare. The rooms sterile. It could be any eating establishment. There is nothing charming about the place. The patio is lovely and the reason to go
