I would love to see this food elevated.
Had to add a lot of salt. Very bland avocado bowl w the driest day old chicken ever. Shredded dry and embarrassing I think they heated it up with some water, which made it even more dry from the day before! The 2 bowls w a generous tip was. $ 40+
The server/ordertakers seem to have zero training

Great place great opportunity. I wish the owner would be a little more aware of What’s happening!! The Unsweet iced tea was good!

We had a fun afternoon tea party! The tea flavors were delicious and the food was great, however adding gluten free scones, more dessert options, and a dairy free cream cheese would be excellent. Those of us with allergies-intolerances appreciate wonderful food experiences too when eating out. I was appreciative of the options they do offer! I hope to find more next time I come. It was a delightful place, and I will definitely come back again!!

While I would typically give this restaurant a 4; I took my youngest daughter to afternoon tea on Sunday at 2pm (had a reservation all week). You pay at the window as always, we were seated in the sunny window and served our 2 pots of tea about 10 minutes later. We were checked in once after when she picked up the reserved sign and our 2 dirty knives-which were never replaced. By 2:52 and no town of goodies or any explanation I went looking for staff. When we were seated there were only 2 other tables seated-they were not busy! I was then told the kitchen was behind and it should be out soon. No apologies, no price refund, nothing. Our food was finally served 57 minutes after arrival, we did get an apology then. No knives to butter the scones though, empty tea pots from sitting for an hour and not offered water-had to ask for it. An absolute disappointment in what was to be a special mommy daughter date. Oh, and that sunny, bare window with a half dozen flies got really hot after an hour. Darn near the worst service I ever received.

Made a reservation for royal tea, and still waited an hour for our food to arrive. This was not communicated at all by the staff, and I had to hunt a waitress down after 45 mins of waiting at a table who said there was a “miscommunication in the team.” No manger came out to speak to us and no one offered anything to make the situation right (refund, free desert, etc). I made a reservation weeks in advance and they could still not get our food out in time. Not one staff member smiled at us the entire time we were there and they all acted as if they wished we weren't there. The food was a solid “meh.” The sandwiches were made of bread that had obviously been sitting out on the open air for too long and were dry and hardening. Quite unappetizing. The other pastries were ok, but not worth the amount of money we spent, and no one in the group wanted to take home any of the leftovers, which says a lot! Only thing they did outstanding was that they made a tower of pastries with no egg or honey whatsoever for my friend with an allergy, and she had no reaction to the food they made her -they even put it on a separate display thing just for her! A genuine thank you for that one! I would suggest a “royal tea” experience here for someone with a young daughter who wants to pretend she's a princess for the day, and not for any adult who wants a genuinely pleasant experience.

THIS IS A TEA ROOM.

They don’t have an espresso machine to make coffee drinks - you know, that stuff that is called “CAFE” in every other language.

Breakfast was just okay. Overpriced for self-serve from the window, but I imagine it’s hard to make rent in five points by running a tea room.

This was my second time trying afternoon tea. I got the royal tea, which came with more food and desserts, along with a glass of bubbly. The tea sandwiches could have had a little more filling. The filling and spread they used on the bread could have been spread from end to end of the sandwiches. The sandwiches we're dry. They did not improve from the first time I'd tried them. The candy brittle covered in chocolate did not set. The brittle was grainy, no crunch, at all, which a candy brittle should have. I suspect the sugar did not disove properly. I mean, I bit into the brittle, and it was like eating sugar, one poured out of a packet. They should not have put it on the tray to serve. The scones that came with lemon curd, jam, and clotted cream were so yummy. I wish I could make them at home. I would suggest that a staff member should try the food to see how everything was tasting before assembling food and sending it out. I think they would have caught the sandwich issues, along with the candied brittle. The tea was delicious. I had asked for it to be seeped longer than 5 minutes, and it was better for it. I got the English breakfast, and the Paris. I paid before I sat town to tea. I left a 20% tip. However, no staff after I got my tea and food stopped by to check on how things were tasting or if I needed anything. Although, to be fair, maybe staff just wanted to let guests be to enjoy the tea experience. This experience just taught me to reserve the tip until after the end of the meal.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. From the time we checked in at the front until we left everyone was courteous and there to help if we needed anything. I have been there several times for the high tea and always enjoyed it.

Scones served to us were covered in mold! They refunded our entire meal, but who wants to eat anything at a place where it could be covered in mold?

Got cream tea: Dry scones. Chipped tea pot (my tea poured unevenly). Servers didn’t check on my table after they dropped off the food. It wasn’t a busy time either. Tea itself was delicious though. I might come back to try the drinks but do not recommend coming here for an afternoon tea experience. Alpharetta is far, but the Ginger Room has a superior afternoon tea experience. It’s the closest to British afternoon tea I had in England.

Lot of the food was cold. Like it was made hours before. However it was very non greasy and healthy options.

If I wanted to have Kroger food for breakfast I would just go shop myself. My server had no problem letting me know almost all ingredients are from Kroger and I could tell. Overpriced basic food with little to no service provided. The salmon on my lox bagel was discolored, and the bagel was awful. If you are looking for a quality breakfast in Athens, I recommend going somewhere that is committed to higher standards.

Honestly, not what I had expected! I was expecting something more true to what I think of as Athens local, like Mama's Boy, SBC, South, Royal Peasent, etc. I knew, like most places, it was going to be a front service, gratuity included, type deal but expected more service and good vibes during our meal. The person who took our order knew we were new and we repeated had said we'd look over the menu but she stood in front of us to wait. It made us feel stupid and rushed. We both selected what we'd like, but just felt frazzled. Then we chose to sit inside. Mistake. Not because it's not a cute house or nice decor. Not because it's super quaint and good ambiance. No because it was awkwardly quiet, light jazz fusion playing and you felt rude for breaking the static silence. I felt like I was ruining the staff's day by being there. It wasn't until I spoke up to ask how they were doing that the ice thawed. The prices are a bit high as well for not getting a drink or side with the meal. It felt as if everything was ordered a la carte. I really enjoyed the food and by the end of it made the experience good. However, I wouldn't go back on my own accord. I also would sit outside where I didn't feel as awkward. Just a weird experience.

The tea service towers were not very good at all. Chicken salad was tough. No clotted cream for scones. The vegan option was pitiful. A piece of burned toast cut in half with jelly on the side. The peanut brittle was too hard to eat - it could have broken a tooth. The best thing was the tea itself. Very good. Will try another place next time
