I’ve always loved The Globe and its eclectic mix of intellectuals, grad students, alumni and professors. The food is excellent, with the Reuben standing out as a must-try and the tomato soup delivering comforting flavor that pairs perfectly with it. Drinks are well crafted, and the Salty Dawg in particular is fantastic, making it easy to see why this place remains a favorite in the Athens scene.
Beautifully decorated European style pub. The food was amazing. Between the 4 of us, 2 of us had the Turkey Club (served toasted with a tasty tellicherry aioli, the Shepherd's Pie (made with lamb) and the Fish and Chips. Everything was delicious and filling. They have plenty of beers and cocktails to choose from and service was excellent. Must not forget to mention the Soft Pretzels and house made beer cheese that we started with. Just divine.
Globe chips and pretzel bites were good. Good tea. The Reuben was a little thin (very little meat and 1000 island) and bland. Turkey club was great. Tomato soup was excellent. The fried fish was not fresh and under-seasoned. Chips were ok. So a little good and a little bad. Around 100$.
