We ordered our food and we were hoping everything was going to be very pleasant. Then they forgot to put in my husbands order, and they never brought my brothers milkshake and it was his for his birthday. It was a really asteically pleasing enviornment, but the service was aweful. I also never got a fork for my salad and ate it with my hand and dipped it in ranch (which I didnt mind). The other big thing that brought me down was I asked for no onions on my salad and a kaiser roll insead of a onion roll. They put a lot of onions in my salad, and gave me an onion roll. Then my brothers and sister-in-laws ruben was burnt crispy. Very disappointed...SMH.?

Their service is the worse I have ever encountered. Rude. The waitress slammed my drink on table. My friend was over charged. If you want a nice meal-don’t go to this disappointing place. The food is ok but does not make up for the terrible service. It was dirty-floors looked like they have never been mopped-probably a sign that you don’t want to eat what comes out of the kitchen and if the service is this rude to your face-I hate to think what they might do to your food in the back.

The Grill is a foundational part of the Athens experience and my recent visits have confirmed there’s no better place for late-night eats in town. Kenzie was a great server and a callback to the best memories I have of this place. 10/10 can’t wait to come back.

This place has kinda reached a point of no return on its staffing, I feel… when you have a work environment that is this obviously dysfunctional, it’s clear that anyone who is at least decent at serving or decent at customer service probably doesn’t stick around, because an environment like this punishes hard work as opposed to encouraging it. This may sound harsh, but this is after so many chances, so many attempts at overlooking the staff because of the vibes and the food. It’s impossible though when you sit for 20 minutes, watching your server dance around 2 of the 5 tables while she cuts up with the cooks, and cuts eyes at your table, almost wondering when you’re going to leave. That’s genuinely a nail in the coffin. It’s always the same issue with the same girl every time I come in- she clearly doesn’t care for customer service or serving, and it’s also clear that the management can’t afford to let her, or any other other staff, go. And it’s not just her- the hostess was sitting at a table with her friends every chance she could, actively rolled her eyes at us when we came in and she saw she had to seat us, as she did with each group that came in after us. However, I suppose she was generous enough to seat us right away- a courtesy that she didn’t extend to the 4 groups that came in after us, and all waited for at least 5 minutes, after her acknowledging their existence through a look back at them with more eye rolls and huffs and puffs. Her friends all ate for free too of course. But yeah, the place is ruined, maybe there are some decent people who work at times that I’m not there, and the food is decent enough I guess. Not worth it for anything else though. The novelty of it being a classic diner isn’t enough to save it. However the milkshakes are always really good. I will miss you, almighty Grill shake

Got ready to leave but needed to use the restroom went outside and the manager on duty young guy think his name Bran may be wrong on Saturday June 1st around 6pm was told we couldn't use the restroom we wasnt a active guest I Explained to him I was a guest a Customer spent Almost $40 there. I ate outside he said no our Policy. Which I ask do you need to see my Receipt? Plus you held the door for me when I was going outside with my drinks before my food came out he didn't remember and I still couldn't use the restroom and didn't want to see my Receipt. Very rude rolling his eyes like get out of here with that.if he doesn't like BLACK PEOPLE I'm very upset ? about this I come there often to not be Treated like this I need someone to contract me asap.

I've been eating here since 1989. My favorite burger/shake place in Athens. Burgers are tasty and the chocolate malt is outstanding. If you want to step back into a 1950s burger joint, stop here. Only complaint is the Jukebox needs to be repaired.
Parking: If the street parking is full, there is a parking garage one block over.
The food was predictable. Good place for a quick munch-on-the-run. Home cut fries were the best part of the meal. I would have given this place 3-4 stars until I discovered an 8-10" strand of red hair in my arnold palmer! GROSS!!!

Normally this place is amazing, HOWEVER, I ordered online for pickup, drove to the diner, grabbed the food, checked the food once home, and at least $25 worth good was MISSING!! We returned to The Grill and they REFUSED to give us our MISSING FOOD WE PAID FOR!! I had to order AND pay for it AGAIN!! Good food, ABOMINABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Seriously management, you can do better!! WHY would I RETURN if I DID receive my COMPLETE ORDER??? POOR Service, you can do better!!
