Great food, friendly service. The breakfast burrito is delicious. Highly recommended. I started devouring it before I thought to take a picture, haha.
The Grit is an incredible awesome restaurant. Every item on the menu is absolutely ? delicious!!! My husband and I have been dining at The Grit for 25+ years and it never fails us!!! The staff is great and very professional!
Wow! What a spot. Server was so nice and tall also, really great vibes and service. Got the special brunch special and boy oh boy was it tasty. Can’t wait to come back. Go grit or go home people!!!!!!!!!
Great food!!! Many choices and wine was amazing too.
Waiter was so attentive and nice! Everyone loved their food!!! 10 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Get the parfait. I’m not a dessert junky, but this thing could turn me into one :) They make the desserts on premises, in the bakery upstairs. Very friendly staff that are very welcoming! Good job guys!!!
Delicious! I have loved this restaurant since I was a kid. I love the many choices they have, and I especially love the fact that they are 100% vegetarian, and also have many vegan options.
The service was exceptional. My girlfriend very much appreciated the idea of a vegetarian restaurant. However, the food itself, in her opinion, was quite mid. I, however, found my meal bussin. Though, at the end of the day, the old ball and chain is the deciding factor. The waitress was very nice. My girlfriend fell on her face, so the waitress gave her a band-aid.
Decent vegetarian food, given it’s one of the only options. Kind of overpriced, especially desserts (I’ve never seen a thinner slice of cake for $6). I’ve tried a couple different dishes here over my time in Athens and it seems they use very cheap ingredients so the taste isn’t super great (which is a bummer especially for vegetarian food). I had the quesadilla and it tasted like public school quality cheese and tortillas. The rueben is pretty good though and the only thing I’ve gotten more than once. The “Asian” dishes are not the way to go. The staff is pretty nice but the older guy (owner?) is usually pretty rude and not very nice. I always get weird looks from him as if I’m not spending $20 on cheaply made food. Compared to the rest of Athens, this place is 4/5 stars. Compared to Atlanta it’s 2/5 so I gave it 3/5.
This is the place to go. Fresh vegan amazing food , kind awesome servers , good size plates with so much taste , deliciousness and nutrition value ! Lots of good alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and man the cakes are to die for . I eat no cakes or biscuits that are not from this place . The tofu wrap is addictive and the pancakes at brunch are so so so good ! Noodle bowl is a must if you are indecisive about what to eat and if you are not hungry ask for a split pea Dahl with a small house salad with ginger sesame seed sauce !!! Your taste buds and body won’t regret that . Mimosas could be bigger and so could be the wine portions , but beers can do the trick and they come from Creature Comforts a very awesome Athens brand ! There is no wrong coming to eat at this place !

The food is fabulous! As a vegetarian of about 40 years, I am in heaven with such a large selection. My husband, who isn't vegetarian enjoyed his meal as well. Oh and my kids, ages 5 and 13, wanted to bring their leftovers home.
Absolutely love and highly recommend the grit. It has such a delightful cozy diner atmosphere and delicious food. So many options to choose from, their menu is very creative! For specific menue items- I think the black bean chili should be ordered with a side, it's pretty salty and intese on it's own. The cakes are slightly dry but the flavor makes up for it and I enjoy them anyways.I am always excited to try new things from their menu and specials - this place is truly a gem.
Went for appetizers and refreshments. Nice wine choices, I enjoyed the French white blend. The chips and salsa was ok. The sampler tray was ok, the highlight was the Tabouli and hummus.
Great vegetarian food. My friend who is sticking to vegetarian diet for lent suggested going to the place. Although I am not a vegetarian myself, nor do I really enjoy much of American vegetarian food, I really loved the approach The Grit took. It really focuses on using the natural flavors of ingredients, and it was such a wonderful dinner experience.
Hands down the best grilled cheese I've tasted. The black bean chili was great.
