Excellent burger. A little bit better than the burger at Porterhouse and for less money.

The space itself is quite small but they make up for it with their DELICIOUS food. My buttermilk chicken sandwich was amazing and my boyfriend’s chicken and waffles were to die for! The mac and cheese is also amazing and the service was great! I would definitely come back.

The food was tasty, not outstanding, but it was satisfying and had enough room for desserts nearby. The restaurant was pretty cramped as the dining area could fit about 9-10 tables. There is a bar upstairs though that we didn’t not enter. We were told that there would be a 30 minute wait and we could see that the place was very busy so it was no problem. We sat down and it seemed like our server was very tired amidst the rush. We didn’t mind waiting another 30 minutes for our food either, but it seemed like we were left on our own for a while. It was like we were getting the silent treatment and were even told to wait a moment when we wanted to ask for more water or the check. Our server didn’t seem to have any issues chatting with other tables though and leave us waiting another 10 minutes with our card and check on the table while we idly stared around.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience while celebrating my birthday. First the server took the wrong order for me but she made it right. After getting the correct dish, shrimp with grits, again I had a bad experience. The taste was off, the shrimp were everything but fresh and tasted weird and the grits were lumpy and tasted more like glue. The server made it right again and offered an other dish. So I ordered the salmon. Again a big disappointment. The salmon was blend and the grit-cakes were still frozen on the inside. The server took it off the bill. But all in all I didn't have a main dish and I was nauseated the whole night after eating one bite off the shrimp. The party I was with weren't impressed with the food either.

Everything was great from the staff to the food! The rooftop has a little more of a laid back feel! Downstairs was busy lots of traffic and excitement! I had the Bourbon Glazed Salmon and it was delicious cooked perfectly the presentation was beautiful! I also ordered a lemon drop with a side car! BINGO…..

Forty minutes to get my food, very noisy with two tables of drunks. The food was amazing.

This quaint restaurant in the heart of Athens has a variety of choices on their menu. Not a lot of selection but what was there was delicious. We chose different items covering the spectrum. C- got the Salmon and paired it with a salad. The meat was moist and firm. M-go the Shrimp and grits. As the food was brought to the table I wondered if I made the wrong selection. A- got the Buttermilk chicken sandwich but unfortunately the onions were on back order. Me- I got the Oh so southern chicken and waffles with blueberries in the waffle mix and blueberries syrup. The fried chicken was caramelized with bacon. This large meal also came with lumpy deliciously seasoned mashed potatoes. Who has room for their famous cheesecake well not us I'm sorry to say. I recommend you come early as the secret is out.Our waitress, a friendly knowledgeable college student waited on us. She didn't rush us nor slow us down. She kept our drinks filled and the table cleared. She certainly made our evening relaxing and enjoyable.

My server was kind and helpful, and the food was good not great. The food did take about 1 hour to arrive which was a little frustrating and the seating is not super comfortable and I was sat at a table right next to the stairs. Overall it was solid food and a decent experience for the price.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Our bartender was incredibly friendly, professional and fast. Food was outstanding. I highly recommend the stake and pork chop. The building is absolutely precious both upstairs and downstairs. Drinks were great. Pricing is absolutely fair for the quality and service. This place is great for a sit down or slightly less college oriented bar experience. Give it a try.

Service was good, but food was mediocre. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and didn’t finish it because the waffles were rock hard. My bourbon salmon was tasteless and so crispy (but on the harder side as if it was overdone). It was also very small and not fulfilling. I walked to the Chick-fil-A to the right after because I was still hungry. The inside of the restaurant is also super small and cramped. Will not be back. The waiters were very nice though! Also, it’s downtown, so you’ll need to pay to park unless it’s Sunday.

From the moment we stepped into The Place, we were greeted with warm smiles that made us feel right at home. The service was impeccable - attentive, but not intrusive, and the staff had an uncanny ability to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. The food, oh the food, was a delightful journey for the taste buds. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavors that spoke of the chef's skills. The Place truly lived up to its reputation, not only for the culinary excellence but also for the high standard of service. It’s a rare find where both the meal and the service contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. A five-star rating doesn’t do justice to the quality of The Place. Highly recommend!

Bar staff and wait staff were choreographed like Russian skaters. Food and drink were on top and the selection slaps!
