Cool World Ice Cream Shop is true to its name in every way. The shop is literally the coolest & most thoughtfully designed ice cream shop I have ever been to. Period. And the staff were so incredibly kind and charming, that I wanted to support this business immediately. But let me tell you, the ice cream is just as excellent if not better than the decor. What I Bought: -Life of Cinn Pie -Brownie Sundae -Pint: Caramel Cheesecake & Cinnamon Oatmeal My Thoughts: The pie was so INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. I ate it and wished I purchased 10 more. The cinnamon flavor, the graham crackers, the snickerdoodle crust, were all phenomenal. I could cry. The Brownie Sundae was excellent! And handpacked to the brim with their hazelnut icecream and caramel cheesecake Icecream. It was just so good! The pint that I ordered was also on point! It disappeared almost immediately Overall: The variety of flavors and items available plus the warmth of the staff and high quality of the product that you receive easily makes this the best ice cream shop in town. Please visit if you can! You deserve to treat yourself!

I was having lunch at The Pines and stumbled across Lil Dude I've Cream and clicked on About and was instantly inspired by a 13 year old legacy that he built deciding to sell Ice Cream at the age of 13, and his parents helping him navigate the entrepreneur make a path. He built that young idea into an Entrepreneurial Legacy for himself and his family. I stopped in saw Mom & Dad and got a little update on Lil Dude. He's in HS now probably going to become a prespective UGA student. I ended up getting the Cookie Sandwich called the Celebration bc lord knows I had to celebrate this Lil man's accomplishments. Everytime I'm in Athens I will stop by. And good luck little man bc your future looks very bright.

This is the kind of story a retired newspaperman like myself really enjoys. Meet Lil Ice Cream Dude, or Victor "Bean" Tracy Shell, the youngster entrepreneur in Athens, Georgia, and the youngest ever to become a member of the Athens Chamber of Commerce. At the age of 8, he began operating his own ice cream cart in his neighborhood and became the youngster licensed vendor ever to work in Sanford Stadium during a Georgia football game. He opened The Ice Cream Shop on June 9, 2019, his 15th birthday. Located at 1040 Gaines School Road, it is open from noon to 8 Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 7 on Sunday. He offers 36 flavors of ice cream, eight flavors of Italian ice, ice cream sandwiches, milk shakes, sundaes, scoops, cones and hand-packed pint, quart and half-gallon containers. My wife and I sampled several ice cream flavors with scoops of banana pudding, butter pecan, butter brittle, orange sherbet, rainbow sherbet, pecan praline, strawberry shortcake and lemon cheesecake. Then we left with a couple of cones, Jacked Up Tennessee Toffee and Oreo cookies and cream. Can you imagine how successful this kid will be once he gets a hang for the business?

Went here last night after Indian food in the same little shopping area, and was pleasantly impressed with the passion the folks had for the ice cream here, which makes sense now that I know that the business is family owned, and was actually started by the son when he was a kid, and now that he is in high school, his parents are his employees! I had the minty chocolate chip cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream in between, and my wife had the Detroit Pothole ice cream, and we sat outside under the nicely lit trees on the communal patio. Very nice!

Good ice cream. People rave about their hotdogs. Worst in Gastonia. Ray's Smokehouse a few blocks up much better.

Love this place! The peanut butter parfait was so so good! Great atmosphere and phenomenal service. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Athens.

Horrible horrible ice cream if you want to call it that. I tried basic chocolate. Like no ice cream I ever ate before. No milk, it seemed, or cream, was harmed making it. I am sure they used it but it was not to my taste. I will be fair. My SO,Tony, liked it, but he is from Oklahoma so I do not know if he counts.

A friend and I wanted a snack this afternoon and came over to get some ice cream. We found this place and really enjoyed it. While there wasn't a ton to choose from, there was enough that we found something we wanted. The service was quick and nice, and the ice cream was really good.

I loved their ice cream. It wasn't overly sweet but had plenty of flavor. I didn't know they also serve food so we only tried their ice cream.

Food and ice cream is great, the cashier need to learn some basic customer service and manners.

Tony's Ice Cream est.1915 a true Gastonia gem.Top of the line ice cream and "the best" shakes ever,fast friendly delicious breakfast,burgers & dogs.Definitely earns my five stars.

These places is so cool! I love the decor and design of the building. The man giving me the ice cream was so sweet. I wish there was a little more ice cream in our cones, but it was very good and made up for the amount.

No frills spot in downtown Gastonia, but if it doesn't have delicious ice cream! I was impressed with the efficiency of the team working here, when I saw the line, but then how fast we were served. This spot is like a step back in time, but in a good way, filled with delicious ice cream. They have your traditional hard ice cream flavors, and any of them can be turned into a milkshake. The milkshake is then topped with a scoop of ice cream, so it's kind of like the best of both worlds. I went with the almond joy flavor, but as a milkshake. It was creamy with shreds of coconut, chocolate swirls and crunch almonds. All perfectly mixed together. I was a big fan of the ice cream on its own, but as a milkshake, it was top notch. I can't vouch for any food here, but if you have a sweet tooth craving, Tony's will certainly satisfy that!!

I love cool world and take my son here every chance I get! Ice cream is delicious, prices are reasonable, and service is so friendly!

My girlfriend and I LOVE Cool World. The employees are always very nice and make sure to get your order right. The ice cream is delicious. We've been so much that they know us by name... It's that good!!
