Alon’s is located in Phipps plaza near Nordstroms. There valet $10-40. There’s also regular parking in the lot and deck. The vibe reminds me of Dean and Deluca. Every one was pleasant and helpful. The pastry’s were decent I think if I got them when they were 1st made they’d be amazing. I love that there wasn’t a lot of riff raff. This place is great for a good snack while shopping.
Always enjoy grabbing a bite here. The soups and salads are fresh and good. Usually add an extra to-go side for the road if going into the weekend. The market and bakery is a great place to grab a refreshment and relax. The only downside is the staff never seems happy to be there. I guess because it is so busy and for a first timer the ordering can be down right confusing with no real direction on the how-to and where-to for the various stations. The covered patio area makes it a perfect place almost any day to enjoy some fresh air.
It can always be a bit of a learning curve the first visit and the staff is so busy they don't have much time to explain it but once you get the groove and take it all in it's a real family owned bakery feel. The sweets are just perfect and lovely to see. The whole place smells amazing. Never had a bad meal here and love the easy of adding take out.
Love all of the baked pastries here! Any of the croissants are amazing, and the gruyere sesame twist is delicious too. Ordered 3 pastries for ~$13.This location is large, and there's seating available inside or on their covered patio. It's also a market so there's separate cases for pastries, patisserie, prepared foods, sandwiches, soups, etc. Really friendly service too!
My husband and I ordered two sandwiches to eat in that needed to be warm. By the time they were prepared the sandwiches were cold. The goat cheese sandwich was a sloppy mess with food from inside the sandwich oozing out all over. It was disgusting and not the least bit appetizing. Shame on you for such poor service! I will never come to your bakery again.
We love Alon's bakery for it's quality ingredients and products. The Dunwoody location benefits with much bigger seating space but it does not take advantage of it with being better organized. The staff are just as friendly and efficient as the original location. That's despite many customers always trying to rush them and being impatient. Something about their customers makes them super picky and impatient. So glad to see staff try the best to be accommodating and patient. Still love the food and the great choices of items. A lot of them are very expensive, but sometimes you want a nice treat. Coffee is better at the week. Original location.
This is a bakery god sake! behind the counter people is not a bakers, act like sale person. Sometimes customers has questions about what are you serving. Loose the attitude.
I got the black bean soup, the broth was amazing but could have had more beans. The slice of sourdough bread made it amazing. Also got some roasted potatoes which were cold so I saved them to take home. I also bought some Veal meatloaf, Duck Prosciutto, capers with anchovies, Humbolt cheese, and fried Marcona almonds all of which were delicious. The heated up roasted potatoes were so good with chunks of roasted garlic. I also got a slice of Midnight cake which I hid from every one to eat. So much to choose from, nice staff, an really good food. I’ll be back!
Lovely bakery with wonderful sandwiches, cakes treats and a cafe! I love the outdoor seating.
I had high hopes for Alon's pastries based on reviews. But having tried the almond crossiant and the apple struedel slice, I now know that it's extremely mediocre. The almond crossiant is middling. It was pleasantly flavored but not crisp at all. The distinct, delicate layers I've come to expect from crossiants were not present. It tasted like one connected, soft mass of pastry—like a Costco crossiant but sweet instead of savory. The almond topping and filling was disappointing in that it just tasted like lightly flavored sugar. I don't know if I'm being ridiculous to expect more complex notes in my pastries...The apple streudel slice is honestly just plain bad. There's raisins in it for some reason. I can't imagine who came up with that idea or why, but it doesn't work. I think it was stale based off of the soft texture of its crust. Don't order this item. The iced coffee is good—I like whatever beans they used. Drinking their coffee made me realize that I've been drinking terrible coffee for my entire life. I added a star to this review because of it.The staff is very friendly, and I appreciated the candid recommendations the employee we talked to gave us.My takeaway from this is: if you're visiting Atlanta from a much smaller town, don't think you're going to find a better bakery here. Alon's is overhyped. I visited Atlanta from Gainesville, FL, and our local bakeries are much, much better than this. Like, not even in the same ball park. When I revisit this city, I'll have to look further for something better.

It is more of a restaurant ( Panera Or Corner Bakery style) than a grocery store. You can pick up a few unique grocery items there. It is not meant for getting all your groceries done there. The food and drink menu is pretty good. I was slightly annoyed because I received the wrong sandwich and had to wait longer for the correct one. Food tasted fine, but portions were on the smaller side. All tables were wobbly, which made it hard to eat and drink our hot drinks. The bathroom was clean but outdated. I expected a more updated place for the prices they charge.
Great sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts. I went for the first time and had a little sample of a few dishes as we shared some meals. Everything we had was delicious. The Market section is really nice and I could spend a bunch of $ on products here. The staff was welcoming and put up with our newbie questions. I'll be back again to try more dishes.Recommended
The is a great place to stop in for lunch, to grab things for a picnic or concert at a park, or to find interesting and fresh ingredients. The bakery is also delicious, definitely do not miss the little chocolate pecan cookies they have tucked behind the counter and they sell by the pound. I occasionally find very fresh olive oil here as well. Take a break from shopping and stop in for something good.
The baked goods and sandwiches are really excellent here, which they should be, given the price. The almond croissants are fantastic. The coffee is disappointing, and they don't have any proper cups. The big problem are the workers who, despite the large number of them, are slow and act like they are working in a pharmacy. It took them 15 minutes to get me a sandwich—that was already made!--all they had to do was heat it up, while they chatted among themselves, stood around, and one was busy making herself a sandwich and snacks. They do not work as a team, and seem to think that snootiness is a great quality to have.
It has a lovely market style ambiance. We got a pesto chicken sandwich and roast beef sandwich with coffee and a hot chocolate. Also for to go are 2 blueberries muffins and 1 Danish cheese bread. ...Price is at expensive side. ...Customer service was good. ...The ready made sandwiches is healthy side kind. The pastries was delicious. ...The place is 8 mins walk from Crown Plaza.
