“This place exceeded my taste expectations. The simple hole in a wall location got me inside. The order process could be done on your own or with the order taker. The food…yes! Got the KISS Burger to keep it simple and wow did it taste great! I can taste the seasoning that made the burger enjoyable and let’s talk fries. It came out crispy, drove back home and it’s crispy and it was still warm after driving 15 minutes to get home. I’m bringing my crew for the next visit.”

“Went here with some people going on my next group trip and the service was great, food was tasty and the drinks were stiff. Went for brunch, may go back and check out the dinner vibes. The atmosphere was giving girls night out or date night, really cute. My friend had an allergy and someone came over to ensure she wasn’t eating the food ordered that had her allergy. Over and above and that was appreciated. Everyone enjoyed their meal and took food to-go. Good sign!”

You can't go wrong with any dish. All of the flavor combinations are fantastic. Personally I had a couple dishes while I was here.

The watermelon salad was great. Watermelon with feta and arugula, really refreshing and healthy for those looking for healthier cuisine. Everything was fresh and perfect. All the flavors worked together to make an above average salad.

Then I and the market fish dish. Fantastic. Again all the flavors worked here synergetically, and I cleaned my plate. I believe the fish for the day was snapper, and you can't go wrong with this option.

Miller Union delivers on price, quality, and quantity. Great bar, fantastic cocktails, and great service. Could not recommend this place more. 10/10.”

“Just took my girlfriend for a first time visit for her, to Staplehouse. We travel a lot & visit many restaurants all over the world. Stepping up for counter service, the girl serving was so so pleasant & really sold us on our order. She was 10/10. My first issue is this is counter service. You order at the register & then grab your own drink & carry it to a table of your choice. So why do these registers always present a default 20% tip option? This is counter service. I hear that this is getting out of hand at many establishments & this is a case in point. I took my time & tipped $5 on my $65 order. They didn’t do anything except input it. A place like this doesn’t have staff making minimum wage, so I think this is really uncalled for. Then the tiny peach salad my girlfriend ordered came out before the sandwich I ordered. It was tiny, but hey that’s not my issue really. My sandwich followed & it was tasty, but boy was it unmanageable to eat. It was so messy & fell apart with the very liquid white sauce dripping everywhere. So there’s my opinion. We both as young students & travelers worked in restaurants for many years 20 years ago. Now we travel & visit restaurants everywhere. She was very disappointed. I enjoyed mine, but I’m hesitant to return.”

“This place puts the "art" in the culinary arts. Every part of this dining experience is expertly curated like any extraordinary Japanese meal should be: from the place settings to the colors, from the dashi (oh my gosh, the dashi!) to the miso caramel sauce, everything was infused with the simple elegance I remember from the island, while still feeling local and informed by its place.

The staff were excellent and made me feel like a special part of their process. The chefs are consummate professionals; the economy of motion he displayed with his knife-work and shaping technique was incredible.

Some recommendations. The Hokkaido crab is excellent. I was told it arrives weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays; you simply can't pass it up if you happen to be there on those days (though I'm sure it's brilliant on other days, as well). I enjoyed the rare (in America) opportunity to have real wasabi (not your usual horseradish); so any dish that is wasabi forward is great. The spirits and wine were great; cocktails are an excellent choice, and my wife loved the non-alcoholic wine she had. I got the basic wine pairings; it was very good, but I would say (only) one or two were truly transformative during the coursing. Still worth it, I think, but something to be aware of if you are price-conscious.

This isn't the kind of place I can go regularly, but I wish I could. I'll be back when I can.

Parking: Valet is 10 dollars (a steal for Atlanta, even with a $5 tip). Just spring for it.”

The food is amazing in a way that is difficult to describe. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful. The vibe is nice and relaxed and it all comes together to make for a fantastic night. “Makay Chopbar catered my wedding last weekend and everything was a hit! Our menu included jollof with veggies, spring rolls, plantains, meatpies, grilled chicken, tomato goat stew, beef suya, and egusi! We barely had leftovers and all the guests raved how flavorful, tender, hot, and delicious the food was to honor my husband’s culture. It was a joy to see folks who never had this food going back for seconds and even grabbing to-go containers.

The communication was impeccable and the chef accommodated special requests for food preparation to use traditional ingredients. The team arrived on time, created a lovely display, and the servers were so friendly. They also cleaned the area very well before departing.

Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely order food and even try the their shipping option to VA! Paul runs a honest and affordable catering business. We greatly appreciate the entire staff for making our wedding day extra special!”

My husband arranged for flowers at our table and Preston took great care to ensure everything was perfect ! And the staff, we found interesting there were around 20 people in the staff, and frankly, many of them were walking around like headless chicken, kind of trying to look busy. Back to positives, Aquiles was our server, he did well. And we had one of the supervisors also checking on us, so service in general was good. Rating? About 4.5 stars. Will definitely go back next time we are in town.”
