“Sugar Shane’s was absolutely incredible! Everything we tried was fresh and packed with flavor. The oatmeal pie was soft, rich, and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The Dunkaroo cookie was a fun throwback with the perfect balance of sweetness, and the dark brown sugar toffee was hands down my favorite—perfectly chewy with an amazing buttery flavor.

On top of the amazing desserts, the staff was outstanding. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely seemed happy to help, which made the whole experience even better. Great customer service and even better treats. I’ll definitely be back!“

“I stopped by today, excited to try some authentic Greek pastries. I was not disappointed! The lady serving me was absolutely lovely and gave me some free samples. I ended up trying a variety of things. The portions are huge and will last you several days. The pastries themselves are definitely authentically Greek (I am European and I’ve been there multiple times), and they are light, moist, and flavorful. I give this place my fullest recommendation.“

Feels friendly, lots of tables and a huge bar area with plenty of seating. Food looked good although I only came for pastries. Will come again but need to figure out timing so I’m not spending 10 minutes looking for parking lol!“

“Great atmosphere and located in a spot where you can try multiple different foods. Service and presentation was great. This place has some of the best cake I've had in my life. I tried 3 different slices and the banana pudding, all was a 10. Tried my best not to eat it all while there, because I was passing through and I wanted to save some for that night. They was moist and the flavor was there. I even asked them how soon can I order a whole cake of the red and blue velvet cake because it was that good.“

Meet the Stefan Sampler at Evergreen Butcher + Baker in Kirkwood:

🍒 Cherry pistachio financier: a small, buttery almond-style cake with cherry and pistachio.

🫐 Blueberry muffin: simple, classic and loaded with blueberry goodness.

🍪 Oatmeal raisin pecan cookie: chewy, nutty, a little sweet and basically everything I want in an oatmeal cookie.

🥐 Kouign-amann: the star of the show. A buttery, sugar-laminated Breton pastry from Brittany, France, with a crisp caramelized exterior and flaky layers inside. Its roots trace back to one of France’s historic Celtic regions.

Evergreen is part bakery, part butcher shop and part neighborhood market, with breads, pastries, quality meats and a small selection of goods you can take home.

The people working there could not have been friendlier, which made the whole stop even better.

And apparently I picked the wrong day for one of their most famous items: the cheeseburger. It’s the Sunday sandwich special, so I already have a reason to come back.

“Went two days in a row while staying at a nearby hotel. First day ordered a hot mocha and a mocha frapp as well and some pastries. Second day ordered some different pastries which were good but i ordered the same drinks as the day before and it wasn’t as good. The frapp was more watered down and was closer to an iced coffee than a frapp within literally a few minutes. The staff seemed alot more friendly and welcoming the first day compared to the second day i went also. Two different experiences but overall it was good. I would go back.“

“I would just like to give a BIG shout out to the staff at the Toco Hills location. Two days ago I placed an order for delivery to my son on his Birthday June 10th as a surprise. I had never ordered from them nor had anything delivered from them. When I placed the order everything was super easy. But I messed up and put in the address completely wrong. When I tried to revise, it wouldn't let me on line. I called the store for help, the girl who answered the phone was so polite and so helpful. I called back the next morning and got another person who AGAIN was extremely patient and so very helpful. She did everything she could as well to help, finally she got a manager and they canceled my first order and we got it all straightened out. I am so sorry I did not get anyone's name, but Management needs to know that you and your staff are doing a great job and are giving great customer service. The bread dough was perfectly curated if you’re looking for a traditional Italian pizza and you like the bread with a little fluff to it this is the perfect place. The ambience and the vibe is really nice. It’s very well lit and very clean. Must check it out. I also met the manager. She was very kind and sweet and informative of discounts on some of the pastries and food offered.“

We caught them at the end of the night so was not many left to choose from BUT we got the strawberry Jelly filled one that I have not tried yet. We did try the glazed doughnut bar and that was fantastic. He threw in the smores one because I originally wanted that but was trying to compromise with my husband and daughter so he threw it in there for me for free. The dessert is beautifully light, and the sweetness level perfectly complements the strawberries in between the layers. The crepes are nicely thin, and the overall structural integrity of their crepe cakes is fantastic.
