“I want to send a special shout out to April from AddiCakes Cupcakes! She made the cupcakes for our wedding and since we got a surprise cake from my auntie, there were lots of cupcakes left over. I brought some home and put them in the fridge and forgot about them. I went to eat one as a midnight snack tonight and couldn't believe how soft, moist, and tasty those things still are and the icing is superb! Its been 17 whole days and it still tastes like she baked them this morning!!! She has earned her keep and will be my special event baker for life! “Jewel Bakery is one of my favorite bakeries in Douglasville! Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious, but my favorites are the Key Lime Lemon, Blueberry Lemon, and Caramel Pound Cake. Each one is moist, flavorful, and made to perfection. The flavors are rich without being overly sweet, and you can truly taste the quality in every bite. What makes Jewel Bakery even more special is the owner. She has a wonderful personality, is always friendly, and is truly a breath of fresh air. You can tell she loves what she does and genuinely enjoys her customers. I live a little farther away, so I often have my treats DoorDashed to my house, and they always arrive fresh and just as delicious as if I had picked them up myself. “Ummm YES! When you can’t decide between sweet or savory, the owner offers life advice… “life is short, eat dessert first.” I could not decide what sweet treat to get but the cashier recommended one of their cinnamon rolls as that is his favorite. They were also coming out fresh just past 8am, so how could I say no? There’s cranberry-something in the middle and it tastes as magical as Christmas morning is supposed to feel. When you walk in, it just feels like a homey, family atmosphere which progresses throughout the day as local people come in and are greeted with a loving familiarity. I believe the owner was going around greeting people personally and helping customers however he could, making me and others feel warm and welcome. That just makes the food even better, ya know? For savory, I went with a sausage, egg and cheese pie and the lamb curry pie. Chips on the side are crispy and delish. There’s malt on the table if that’s your style. Both came out very hot. The lamb curry was a perfect flavor like Australian shepherd’s pie. The dough/crust of both have a unique flavor: maybe a taste of Australia. I’ve never been but I imagine that’s what it is. Authentic! Yummy yummy yummy! I got an eclair to go for my dad that I know he’s going to love. Portions are great. Definitely a fair price…All that for $22. Leave a tip in the jar.
