“Ordered late night after World Cup event around 10:30pm at my hotel downtown. Worth the wait the lemon pepper is my favorite with drum wings and fries. I hope to try again next time in Atlanta in comforts of hotel next time. Hope you invest back to bigger kitchen and more amazing food because I now see why the food magic city is great. “Very impressed with this place! From the moment we walked in, everyone was very welcoming. My biggest thing is TVs when I’m going somewhere to watch sports, and they definitely didn’t lack on that. They have a 100+ inch TV at one of the two bars, which is perfect for watching games.

A bar like this with liquor, good food, and a great setup for sporting events or just hanging out is definitely a good time. The bartenders/waitresses, Jamir and Jessica, were very welcoming and helpful with the menu.

We made it in about 5 minutes before happy hour was over, and they took care of us on the drinks, which I definitely appreciated. The food came out way faster than expected. I thought it was going to take longer, but everything came out right on time.

Food was an 8/10 overall. Nothing was overly seasoned, iykyk what I’m talking about 😂.

I also got the chance to speak with the owner, Marie, and she was very cool. Had a great conversation with her, and one thing I can definitely say is she LOVES and trusts her staff. Believe me, you can tell.

I’ll most likely become a regular here. Definitely found a new spot to hang out, watch games, and grab some good food and drinks. 🍻🏀📺

“Barrio ATL is an entire VIBEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I ended up here on a Thursday. I was in the Cascade area and in the mood for tacos. After a search on Yelp Barrio ATL popped up and was where we headed for the night. As a heads up, Barrio ATL sits in the corner of the strip plaza. As such, the parking can be a bit tight so be sure to choose a space accordingly. Upon walking in, the ambiance puts you in the mindset of a trendy hookah lounge. Wall seating, chairs, and tables are to the left, and a VIP area style is to the right. The DJ is directly to the left of the VIP area and the bar area is to the left of the DJ. The building is medium-sized and build rectangular so there is ample length as compared to the width. There was no one at the Hostess booth when I walked in, however, the young lady got up from one of the tables in the back, greeted me, and quickly took us to our table. Once seated, the waitress assigned to our table came over and was super nice and welcoming. She introduced herself as Shay and went over the specials for the night. As the ambiance is more than just a casual bar, Shay’s service was superior. Her personality shined and she enhanced the overall experience of the night. Thank you, Shay! Based on the specials for the night I decided to go with the 3 Chicken Birriia Tacos for $9 (this was a great deal as they are usually $20) and a side of fries. As they didn’t have Sweet Tea on the menu I ordered a bottle of water. Shout out to Barrio ATL for serving Fiji. Ha. Babeeeeeeeeee… Here me when I tell you… I don’t know what kind of potatoes these fries were made with but they were the BOMBBBBBBBB. They were thick, perfectly fried, golden to perfection, and well seasoned. For the record, I would go back for the fries alone. LoL! The birria tacos were good as well. As this was my first time having them I don’t have anything to compare them to, however, I enjoyed the experience. The crunchiness of the taco shell with the well-seasoned chicken. The birria consomé was well seasoned and definitely enhanced the flavor of the taco, as such, for my first birria experience I enjoyed it. Furthermore, if the chicken was this good, I can’t wait to try the beef. Overall Barrio ATL is def one to add to the checklist when you are looking for a vibe. The DJ was on point, the ambiance was hittin like it needed to be, and the overall flow of the environment was ideal for a kick it/unwind/grab a drink type of vibe.“

The waitress came to our table immediately and asked for our drink orders and brought them back very quickly. “I've eaten here a lot over the years. The food is sadly not what it used to be. The mac & cheese had zero seasoning when I went this weekend. I do understand that with home-cooked food, there will be variations in the flavor from time to time. So I can forgive that.

However, the one thing that is not so forgivable is that they added a 25% restaurant fee at some point. I didn't realize it until I got home and looked at the receipt. Between the 25% restaurant fee plus a 15% tip, I ended up paying 40% extra for to-go food. That felt shady. I have always liked supporting this place but if you are going to add a 25% fee, you need to be more up front about it.“

“Was seated right away with no reservation. Food was phenomenal except for the hushpuppies which quite frankly are the worst I have ever had in my life. I don't really care much about hushpuppies anyway though so no big deal. The fried chicken was some of the best ever, as were the fried catfish and fried shrimp. Strongly recommend the black eyed peas as well. Sephora was a lovely server. One downside was that there was a roof leak and it splashed all over our party but we did promptly get moved to another table and it's not their fault that happened since it was raining really hard and they don't own the building. I had a whiting fish plate and chicken wings were delicious and so were the sides. I had green beans, mashed potatoes, candies yams, and red beans and rice.
