“I had such an amazing stay here! The location was excellent, my room was clean, and the hotel itself is super cute. The front desk staff were literally the best, especially Michael. Michael went above and beyond for me during my two day stay at The Sylvan. He was so helpful, super kind, and exemplified great service. The only issue I had here was valet. Majority of the valet staff were nice but a few of them were a bit rude. Other than that, I would highly recommend staying here.“

If heartbreak has ever felt good in a place like this, it’s here at The Local, and I’d know best. This sacred institution has seen me through good days, bad days, and the crushing realization that my friends like my roommate more than me.

The wings? So good they made me believe in love again—until I remembered I was here to drown my sorrows. The drinks? Cheaper than my therapist, and honestly, more effective. The vibe? A perfect mix of “we gave up on renovations the same year we opened—1998” and “a place where everybody knows your name.”

It’s dark, it’s grungy, and if these walls could talk, they’d probably tell me to go home. But I won’t. See y’all tomorrow!“

“I went out with some friends after attending the opening night of The Atlanta Black Theatre Festival. We had loads of laughs, and our waiter joined in and added to the laughter. The menu is very limited and geared towards patrons with a slightly more sophisticated pallet than the average person. I believe I had The Bronzino, which was trout on a bed of veggies with a special red sauce.
The fish was cooked to perfection with a nice crunch on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. The veggies were the perfect size and had a nice soft crunch to them as well. The sauce was bursting with flavor!

We sat on the patio. It was nice, but they never turned the patio lights on, so the lighting was very dim. But it was a cool atmosphere.“

“You could very easily have a terrible night here… that is possible…. Although, everything is possible… I walked up and had my bag checked (totally appropriate). Met the bartenders (4 on for a slow night)… it was karaoke and took a moment to get the speakers going (totally happens)… Front patio leads to the main spaces… you have a smoking area sectioned off in the front… back patio and a pool table…. Two restrooms with someone monitoring it (no powder room honey bee)….. this place is AMAZING…. Clientele ranges from local to Sexy to SEXY!! You can feel yourself without feeling on someone else.. Class without sass type of vibe… honestly I had the best experience out of every other bar within the inner city.. across the street from the best food scene in the city…………. As an outsider looking in… leave the ego at the door and enjoy the local vibe… Not a good place for They/Them (not capable to handle your vibe) not a good place for Midtown Millionaires (just why show up)…. It’s a small space with quality people…. Do yourself a favor and let yourself go….. everyone was MEGA friendly….. Although…… Although….. I’m a little biased… lots of sexy men making it work….. had the best time out of every local in the city….. hands down A+…… Will be returning and happy to be a part of the vibe“
