“I liked La Fonda - it's casual, you can sit outside, the staff are friendly, and the food is decent! We got the paella Del Mar and either the chuletas or bistec a la parilla to split. The meat was a little tough but otherwise everything tasted good. I got the house margarita too and enjoyed it!“
“I love how my child loves Cuban food. I grew up eating Cuban food in south FL and was so happy to finally step inside this place. Located super close to N Druid Hills on Buford, you step inside and you can see why this people keep coming back here. The place always has people dining inside. I am a huge fan of the black bean soup and the yucca con mojo. Both are super flavorful without being overly salty. My child loves the Milanesa which is a breaded steak sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and potato sticks on it. I also love all of the Jarrito flavors offered in their cooler as well.“
“This place makes the bread that's used at some other local sandwich shops, but they also offer their own sandwiches and pastries! Their Cuban did not disappoint! It was comprable to one I tried at Sanguich in Miami. The man running the place is really nice too. Heads up it's a cash only establishment!“
“Let me start off by saying the Wife and I are from Miami, this by far is the best Cuban Sandwich I've had the pleasure of consuming. Juicy, flavorful and they do not skimp on the portions, add the Garlic sauce for additional satisfaction. The shredded beef empanadas are a must try as well. Do yourself a favor and skip all the other food options in the mall.“
“La Fonda is one of my favorite places to eat. I order takeout and dine in a few times a month here. It’s a great place to bring friends and family to enjoy a meal. I always get two veggie tacos with no cheese. The guac is delicious. The rice and beans too are my favorite. My dad LOVES the cuban sandwich. Good prices too for the portions given. You guys always do a great job.“
“I ordered a sandwich at their food truck then got an emergency call from our little one's daycare and had to run. Don Faustos literally sprinted through the parking lot to bring me the sandwich as I was driving off! Everything ended up okay at day care and the sandwich was awesome.“
“At least in my island of Puerto Rico a “fonda” is a small informal restaurant. That is this place, a cozy nice place with superb service. The environment is important, nice soft Latino music and friendliness. Probably they are overreaching in the menu. The “tostones” were good. The chicken soup was perfect. But the main diches were completely off. The Cuban dish did not tasted Cuban at all. The carnitas did not taste as carnitas. The only rating I give to places is if I would go back to the place and I would go back to this one, provided that they improve the main dishes or center on one type of cuisine and do it great. They have great potential.“
“I got a chicken (vegan) cubano to-go. I've always wanted to try a cubano but never found a vegan option. The flavors were great and I loved the bread. The texture of the vegan chicken was good, but did not replicate the shred/tear that chicken has. Definitely will be back!“
“I love this La Fonda on Peachtree Rd. It’s such a comforting and classy atmosphere and you can see what’s going on next door at Fellinis as well so it like being on a beach with a bunch of locals in a way!Vegetarian options: Paella con Verduras con frijoles con chips y salsa es bueno para veganos“
“Wow! Was walking the neighborhood and stumbled across mamis, and today I hit the jackpot, This place is great! I got the ropa viejo (shredded beef) comes with rice and beans, plantains and cuban breadZ everything was delightful and this huge plate of food was only 11! Um what?? I will be back soon to try more ?“
“Food is excellent, service is very friendly. We got the mojo pork sandwich and Vaca frita. I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead of 4, but my only gripe is that the entire meal was $40, which felt a bit too high. The Vaca frita itself was $22, and sandwich was around $15.All in all, a good experience.“
“LOVED THE FOOD!!!Food is everything I expected from a Cuban restaurant. It was ready fast. Great friendly service. Get there early bc it seems like the do run out of the good stuff. We wanted the ropa vieja and they ran out so we opted for the lechón which was very good. We also wanted for desert the guava and cheese pastries - but they ran out too. So get there early is my recommendation. But the tres leches was very good - but also very sweet. We also got mango and guava fresh made juices and it was worth it!“
“Feel good atmosphere and loved the food and service! Thomas is awesome and so personable which makes you feel like you want to spend all day there. The plantain chips and queso is a delicious twist! My husband and I enjoyed the Cuban and guava cheesecake too! Cuban is one of, if not THE best, we’ve had. We have ventured all over the world and lived in different countries so we aren’t bluffing. We got the Grilled Red Snapper To-Go for my cousin and she said it was amazing! Seems like the type of place where anything you order will be tasty!“
