Mujō, an intimate 20-seat restaurant in West Midtown, offers an exceptional omakase experience. Guests can indulge in a multi-course menu featuring unique ingredients like Japanese barracuda, complemented by a beverage pairing of sake, wine, and cocktails. The menu includes standout dishes like the Hata Sakemushi, a delectable piece of grouper with a sensational cream sauce and peas, as well as tempura mushroom with burnt eggplant and squid ink, and a warm custard with soft white asparagus and ramps. The sushi showcases incredibly fresh and unique fish, such as fluke, seabream, and spotted knife jaw, with the toro, goldeneye snapper, and Japanese barracuda being particular highlights. The meal concludes with a creamy roasted sesame ice cream topped with rich and boozy miso rum caramel and puffed rice.
The service at Mujō is phenomenal, with a great deal of attention to detail and an exceptional staff. Guests highly recommend the drink pairing and various supplement courses, including caviar and foie gras. The elegance and ambience contribute to a memorable dining experience. Kiki, the sommelier, is noted for her impressive knowledge and passion, enhancing the overall experience. The price reflects the Michelin-starred quality of the restaurant, ensuring that every visit is truly special.
