We had the lasagna and the steak medallions with the mushroom, Marsala sauce. Our food wasn't piping hot. My friend said her mushrooms cold and the sauce wasn't warm. They did bring her more Marsala sauce and it was piping hot and said was fantastic. She wished her whole meal was like that. Service was attentive and water was continuously filled.
The service at Atalian was exceptional. The menu provided a good variety of items at a fair price and the ambiance was very nice.
I'm from out of town and probably my 10th time there in 3 years. Never a disappointment. Sat at the bar rather than eat alone at a table. The barkeep, Norm, took great care of me and offered good conversation. I'll be back.
Service was great. Staff made accommodations for my gluten allergy. Gluten-free pasta was so good.
Our experience at Atalian was outstanding, from when we walked all the way to when we left. Our servers were very attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere and ambiance was top notch. There was a small hiccup with our entree, which we would not have even realized (there was an issue with the entree ticket going to the kitchen apparently) if they didn't tell us. They checked on us multiple time to see if we needed anything while we waited, which we didn't, in our eyes that little snafu didn't delay our dinner at all. Long story short, this restaurant is great and I highly suggest it, we will be back! . . . the sundried tomato and olive oil they give with the bread is chefs kiss!
Branndon in the server was really an amazing part of the experience. Very attentive and well received by my party.
I was there during Gift Mart and the noise level was bad but returned at end of week and it was much quieter. Crowd was gone
I wanted to love this place but it was just okay. Bread and sun dried tomato oil was delicious. Service was excellent. Sadly, the shrimp scampi sauce was so salty I could hardly eat it. The shrimp were flavorful and nice but salty. Meatballs and linguine were okay according to my friend, and the meatball appetizer and asparagus was also just okay. Beet salad was the best thing on the menu for all 3 of us. Sadly, we probably won't return. Too many other better options in the downtown Atlanta area.
We stayed at a midtown hotel close to Piedmont Park to run the AJC's Polar Opposite 10k and wanted to eat pasta in order to carb load for the run. I found Atalian on Open Table and liked the menu offerings, ratings and photos. Boy did we hit the jackpot! The restaurant's look walking through the entry was cool giving a warm and inviting vibe. We started out with a nice Riesling and a delicious meatball appetizer. We chose the Lasagne and the Steak Bolognese recommendation from our amazing server, Brandon. Both dishes were mind blowing and we were tempted to lick our plates clean, but we refrained for decorum's sake. We don't usually order dessert, but this was a special occasion so we asked Brandon for another recommendation. He said rather than tell us, he could just surprise us and we liked the idea, so he did. He came out with a decadent chocolate Mouse Cake that we immediately devoured! We had such a phenomenal gastric experience and we highly recommend this establishment whenever you are in the mood for Italian cuisine and be sure to ask for Brandon!
Nice restaurant with attentive waitstaff.

The food was good. The southern influenced Italian meant more tomato and less heavy cream sauce, which was nice

I must say I was surprised to see such a highly rated Italian restaurant in downtown Atlanta. The interior is very nicely done feels very cozy and intimate and evoke more of a northern Italian feel. The food itself is very good, but I wouldn’t call it excellent. It’s well prepared and hardy-leaning more toward a southern Italian cuisine. The bread we started with was OK, nothing great… I had a perfectly adequate salad and my colleague and I both had pasta dishes, which were good but not off the charts. Our servers were very good young, enthusiastic, and eager to help. It is certainly worth a visit here.
