Music is so loud you can’t hear the person next to you as you go hoarse screaming into each others ear. Not surprised to learn it has the same owner as Slutty Vegan(same problem). I don’t get why the kitchen is so slow. We got buffalo wings that were just Beyond nuggets with sauce. The lemon pepper wings were nearly inedible as if they dusted it with citric acid to make it sour. We told the server and she nodded, “They’re sour aren’t they?”. The cheesesteak egg roll is meat/cheese mush in an egg roll wrap. It’s what I assume catfood would taste like if you mixed in some cheese that you can’t get off your teeth. We wanted dessert and more drinks. Hard to screw up sugar water and alcohol. But the server was AWOL after she took the order. I paid $80 for 2 meals, 1 appetizer and 2 drinks(1 alcoholic). That included gratuity. I love the idea of a bar for vegans to hang out at but the loud music makes socializing a pain. Apparently Happy Cow doesn’t allow 1 star reviews.
When we selected Bar Vegan for our lunch spot, we didn't know its location. We loved that it was all vegan, and we happened to dine after the lunch rush. Service was prompt and friendly. Our two choices were buffalo chicken and cheesesteak sandwiches. The cheesesteak sandwich was the clear winner. The buffalo chicken would have been good as an appetizer, but it was OK—not nearly as good as the cheesesteak sandwich. Pro Tip: You have to pay for parking. We had a ticket on our windshield after lunch.
Service is incredibly slow. The food is mostly beyond tenders/patties. Save your money and eat at home.
The vibe is awesome and the food is as well. I like that it’s a fully vegan bar, which you don’t see often. The prices are just a bit too high. Other than that it’s a great spot.
Tried the elote & the Brussels sprouts (3/5 and 5/5 respectively) Drink choice was an espressotini *chefs kiss* so yummy. Also had hockey playing so it was bf friendly.
Service was a little slow, but food was well worth the wait. I’ve been looking for a good vegan street corn and they did not disappoint. Jerk oyster mushrooms were very spicy but I like it hot.
I was excited to finally try this spot, it had been on my radar for years. Unfortunately I accidentally came in on open mic night or slam poetry night or something, so I can't speak to the usual ambience, but I didn't have a great experience on that front. There was one poor sweet woman running the bar and also serving the entire floor, so service was slow. My friend and I ordered cocktails. His was cold. Mine was room temperature for some reason. It was a French 75, so I don't think that was intentional. After a lengthy wait, our food came out. He got a sandwich, and I got wings. The flavour of both was fine, nothing special. However my wings were also room temperature, while his sandwich was piping hot. I don't know if I was just unlucky twice or I unknowingly offended someone, but I have no desire to return.
Music was way too Loud and food took forever but cool spot if you want to have cocktails. We went as a family and it wasn’t it.
Very cool spot. Really good music. Just one issue- waiter took almost an hour to get one drink. He handed it to me 10 minutes before the bar closed. I had to drink it FAST and then immediately leave. Updated from previous review on 2024-12-23

Solo was our bartender for the night. We only a drink and the appetizer because we are on a schedule. But he was nice and personable. He made up the drink The Solo one and it’s definitely a must have. I also had the street corn and not gonna lie it was probably the best i ever had. We are def coming back for the drink and food

Dining with Justin M at the bar was an enjoyable experience. He was patient as we looked at the menu and made inquiries. Justin explained how he handcrafted our cocktails as he prepared them in front of us. Using Baileys non dairy option in our expresso martinis to ensure a vegan experience through and through. The holiday decor added some extra warmth to the ambiance and made my visit festive.

Overall, my experience was not great. The bar is in a beautiful area convenient to a lot of shops in the aesthetic of the bar itself is absolutely beautiful. However, the service at the bar needs a lot of work. The food at the bar was OK however it was overshadowed by long times for service I had to ask for a cup of water nearly 3 times before receiving it and the waitress gave it to me with a bit of an attitude. I don’t ask for much When I’m at restaurants however, this was simply not great.
