The food was fantastic. Don't miss the Moqueca Stew and the Lobster Roll. Absolutely divine. The menu had something for everyone in my family!
I went with a friend and it was heavenly. We shared the Fry bread- you won't regret ordering it. Not to be greedy but I could eat one by myself lol I got the kale salad which was huge and I had leftovers! My friend enjoyed the beef salad. We shared a dozen raw oysters which were all delicious! Also, my friend got the sangria and I had the Royal Hawaiian, both were good. And the vibe is lovely upstairs.
Really enjoyed the food and experience. The price point is a bit high for the offerings but would return
1st time customer and will be returning! Peel & eat shrimp, fry bread & pinky toe crab- kicked off the meal! Stew & fish & chip entrees made for a great meal
We had a lovely dinner at Beetlecat last night. We sat downstairs which was nice and cozy and quieter than upstairs. The food was outstanding. Some of the highlights were the ceviche, the fry bread, and the moqueca. We shared all of those things and more between 3 of us. But, the best thing about the meal was the service. Our server, Destiny, was outstanding. She really knew the menu inside and out and had awesome recommendations for both food and cocktails. She really made the dining experience 5 stars!
One of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. They have the BEST Lobster Roll we have ever had, and we have done the Lobster Roll Trail in Maine. I bring customers and out of town guests here every time we are in Atlanta. Oh, and their selection of oysters are really good! They are fresh, delicious, and different.
The burger was pretty good. Both my husband and I got the same thing, but mine in a lettuce wrap as I don’t eat gluten bread. Both of us liked the burger. However, we didn’t like the fries as they were too greasy for us, and at $7 for fries, overpriced.
Overall atmosphere good.
Our server was great.

This place used to be my favorite and has gone more and more downhill while getting more and more expensive. Went for my birthday yesterday with one other person and dont believe ill ever go back. The 2 of each oysters we ordered were obviously not matching and they forgot to bring/ ring up multiple drink and app orders. Didnt even order any mains due to frustration. $44 for a half a handful of lobster on a martins potato bun with NO side is just absolutely insane. It used to come with waffle fries and then chips(i was mad about this this years ago) and now nothing. You all have ruined a great restaurant. Good job 👎

My brother and I really wanted some oysters yesterday and so we came to Beetlecat because normally the service is great and the food is good. We sat at the downstairs bar because we wanted to get prompt service. There was hardly anyone in there.
We sat there for five minutes before the bartender even acknowledged our presence, but he didn't even speak to us. He directed someone to grab us some waters. Another five minutes go by and no drink orders taken, no greeting, no nothing. So we just ended up leaving because why would I want to pay 40 dollars for a dozen oysters in a place where the staff is RUDE and then tip for that? That's not going to happen. I have spent a lot of money in this place, but yesterday was my last time. For this cost of food at this establishment, I expect the level of service to mirror the price. That did not happen AT ALL. That's unacceptable.

Please convert that weird purgatory table at the bottom of the stairs to a bookshelf, fish tank, anything. After waiting 30 mins for a different table everything was solid. Recommend the baked oysters, lobster roll, and the fry bread.

Delicious food, tiny portions, middling service. Definitely pricey for the portion size. Unlikely to return.
My partner and I ate an early dinner here last night for our 10-year anniversary. We made a reservation just to be safe because we had a concert to attend after dinner. But the place was empty when we arrived around 5:30. We started with some raw oysters which were delicious, and typically priced for fancy raw oysters in town. We then ordered several small plates to share, given that was the stated focus of the establishment. But when they came out, we both wondered the same thing: where's the rest of it?! The "scallops" came out on a tiny saucer. More like "scallop" singular, a solitary scallop cut into 5 small pieces. It was yummy, but minuscule. Same with the ceviche. Delicious, beautiful presentation, microscopic portion. The mussels were a vaguely reasonable portion size and came with bread. They were pretty standard. Yummy, but not exactly unique.
Service was solid until the dinner rush picked up. It was a bit of a challenge to flag down our server to get the check. To the decor's credit, the noise of the dinner rush didn't make conversation too difficult. Other than that, it looks like what it is: a pricey seafood joint in Inman Park that's trying too hard.
If these prices constitute casual dining for you, or a place to grab a nosh before going elsewhere for real food, or if you just starve yourself, you might enjoy this place. It was a special occasion splurge for us. We left disappointed and hungry.
We had a similar experience at The Optimist last year. (and given how small the entrees were there, I'm glad we didn't risk them at BeetleCat.) Had we known they were run by the same people, we probably would've gone elsewhere. We are unlikely to return to either establishment in the future.
We frequent a couple Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants in town. Although some offer larger portions than others, none of them have ever been as comically small as what we experienced at BeetleCat and The Optimist.
Also, "BeetleCat" is an extraordinarily silly name for a restaurant.
Parking: Typical expensive parking deck for the area.

If you've ever wanted to add a $20 egg to a $1 junior bacon from Wendy's, the $21 brunch burger is for you.

Terrible service. Arrived at 7:05 and was seated at 7:10. The first person we saw was the manager who seemed confused. She asked us if we would like a “drink or anything “. We ordered 2 drinks. At 7:45 the server finally showed up to tell us that she had too many tables. At 7:50 we got up and left. You’d receive better at a Waffle House
