I visited this place thinking it was a hidden gem near Georgia State. It was not. I went in and ordered the wings with mac and green beans. I wanted yams but they didn’t have any ready I asked how long on them and nobody could give me a straight answer. After ordering i waited about 15 minutes so In my head I’m thinking the chicken was going to be fresh for the $18 I paid. The women handed me my food with the bag tied and I walked out. Once I got back to my dorm to eat the green beans were good but the Mac and Chicken tasted so old the chicken tasted like it was fried early in the morning and just thrown back in the grease to reheat. I called the restaurant and nobody answered, I texted the instagram page and nobody answered so I went back with the full plate of food. I spoke to both ladies at the register and they asked if i wanted it remade and I said No because the Mac wasn't gonna be fresh and it was just nasty and the chicken was gonna be dipped back in the oil. I asked for a refund. They responded with we cant do it because the owner isn’t here and etc. Just a whole bunch of excuses. I told her to tell the owner to contact me and she said okay. I waited an hour and the MARTA police showed up and the lady got to lying. Saying she showed me the food before i left and I came 2 hours later and etc. She was disgusting and disrespectful. The whole staff were terrible.. everyone on there phones talking and Im watching them refrying the food. At the end of the day I still didn’t get a refund and was told to come back at a specific time and I called to make sure the owners were there and they weren’t there so I gave up. Moral of the story you cannot support every black owned business because they rather the money instead of happy customers.

l I didn’t receive what i initially ordered. I received green beans instead of collard greens and the yellow rice that comes with the plate is nonexistent. When i called the manager, she stated that they had just ran out of rice and collard greens. -_- Why complete an order if it’s not what the customer ordered? I order from this restaurant frequently for my grandfather and it’s always fresh tasting like someone cooked it but today it tasted like straight up canned food. No flavor AT ALL . Highly disappointed. We have to do better .
When I walked in the workers/cashier’s (2 young women) were basically chilling and on their phones. They had a guy that favored Lil John cleaning, he was VERY customer service savvy. He was more polite and business minded than the 2 young ladies. He made me actually enjoy my experience at Binky’s bc I was disappointed with the poor service. The two young ladies only entered the establishment bc I was a potential customer. Prior to that as I walked up they were outside on their phones. Very loud and boisterous in front of the establishment. It’s not a good look even if it is located downtown. My take on the food is that fresh produce should be used, you can taste the difference. The yellow rice was severely overcooked and more like risotto or mash. The yams tasted days old or even really tasted like canned yams. On the brighter side, the baked was immaculate and on point. Would I eat there again ? No, they’re better options around five points. With that midtown or professional customer service people prefer. Would I travel out my way to eat here again? No. I feel like I came on the wrong day or a “no supervisor was there”type of day.
This food is horrible. They don't give you chicken wings it is wingettes. The wingettes are squirrel knuckle small, but they made sure to season it with enough salt to raise your blood pressure just by looking at it. The porkchop has to be at least 3 days old. Was the driest and toughest chop I had in several years. The sides are atrocious. The collards tasted scorched and flavorless, the mac was all noodles with some nasty cheese on it, the yams were canned and so sweet I think I have diabetes after bring in the vicinity of it. The drinks were the same as the yam and had a weird aftertaste. The fried lemon pepper turkey wing was good. I'm having a hard time guessing was it good because the rest of the food was so bad or because it was actually good. Regardless, we just threw away 80 dollars worth of food cause HELL NO!!!

I have been wanting to try this place out for a very long time! And I got the chance on yesterday! I was very disappointed. It’s true what they say-try out a black owned business right when they open up, because after that they aren’t going to be good anymore n Me and my friend went for our lunch and ordered the Turkey Wings, with mac n cheese and collard greens! The Turkey wings were horrible! They lacked seasoning! And they applied some type of gravy on top of the turkey wings and rice that I didn’t ask for! They were NASTY! Wasn’t anything good but the sides! And I’ll give them a 7/10 for that! The service was horrible! The young lady working the front register was very dry! Not welcoming at all! I will not be returning back or supporting Binky’s again!
