I typically love coming here but I’m pissed that there weren’t any updates regarding the operational hour changes. I work and have a small window for lunch and decided to come here, only to find the building closed. Mind you there is a lot of construction going on, so it was already a challenge trying to get to the location. An updated hour of operations or an announcement would’ve been kind.

Went to go there and it was closed. I went around 6 and they close at 7 it was dark and closed, didnt have anything say why or nothing. I was really disappointed because ive been wanting to try this place. I wish they would say in advance that they are closed before folks make their way over there

Binky’s Eatery is such a great local spot! The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with care—you can really taste the quality in every bite. The menu has a nice variety, and the portions are generous without being over the top. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I have been supporting the original Binky's downtown location since it opened but the quality, from experience to atmosphere to food, has steadily declined. Working in the area, I tend to visit this location during lunch hour. I think today was my last visit.
Getting to the restaurant is aggravating in itself due to the element in the area. There's little to nothing that Binky's can do about that but my point is, after dodging zombies to get to the food, the food and/or the customer experience could at least be worth what people choose to go through to get to the register.
The menu screen wasn't on and there was no sign posted about any specials but I asked if they had lunch specials today. The young man at the register gave me the info and I ordered the lunch special. He did not, however, tell me that the 2 piece fried chicken special came with drumsticks only. I peeked in the box when I got it and asked if I could get wings or thighs and was told it's drumsticks only. Ok, fine. For my 2 sides, I ordered greens and mac & cheese. But what I got was YELLOW RICE & mac & cheese. My fried chicken was a little pink in the middle.
In addition to all of the aforementioned observations, there was no cornbread or rolls like there used to be and no visible desserts for purchase and no beverages visible. They have the glass blocked where the food is, so you can't see what's ready to be served, you just have to ask and hope they're telling you the right information.
And finally, it was HOT in there today! I mean, unbearable. I felt so bad for the 2 employees and the other customers in there waiting. I imagine management was out working on mitigating the issue with no air or fans there, but that just added to the lackluster experience today.
A positive is the cashiers are better now that the one rude girl is gone. But, for me, the food and experience is less and less impressive each time I go, hoping for the best. So I've had my fill.

Food was very good! In town for a family reunion and I can’t get soul food where I live so it was nice to get a taste of home and it was done right. Will return
