Great food. The buffalo chicken wraps and salads are always great.

Slow service, tastless and burnt quesadilla.

Ms Belinda makes the most amazing salads! Never been so excited to eat a salad at lunch! Seriously it's a $16 salad experience for $7. High qaulity made to order... no fuss. Love it, and looking forward to having another salad at the Bistro tomorrow!

Revised Review:After eating here regularly for a few months I have come to the conclusion that the head chef of this place has no pallet.Everything is salty to the extreme, and i love salt so for me to say that you know if has to be bad.The staff is great though, which is the only thing keeping this review above a 1*.

I work in the building and I come down everyday in the morning for 3 reasons: Krystal, Davarius, and the Mother Hen of the Kitchen (I just love her, she reminds you of your own momma). When I come down for lunch, its for 1 reason only: Ryan. I am not ashamed to say that I only enjoy dealing with them. Not to say that everyone else is rude, but they definitely stand out. They are sweet, professional, honest and always ready to serve you. PLEASE DONT EVER LET THEM GO!

Great food, good service, the employees service with a smile.

Waited in line for 10 minutes, only to deal with some nasty attitude from the lady telling me they are out of what I wanted. It's sad because I'm really hungry and wanted some food, but now I'm mad and hungry and this place is always frustrating.

I just got the special fish burger and asked what kind of fish and they said Grouper :) I was excited, but when I bit into, it was more like ground fish and had a weird taste, so I threw it away. I also got fries which also tasted weird, like may cooked in old oil? I don't know - I keep trying to give this place another try, but every time I eat there, I get sick. Too bad!

Bistro 1230 is the building restaurant/café for the Promenade II building. It's located on the Garden Level, a.k.a. the bottom level. To get there, get to the elevator banks and then go in the direction opposite the lobby entrance. They offer several made to order stations as well as an open fridge case selling a few ready-made options. Breakfast and lunch are both served. I have attempted to come for breakfast once and have been for lunch twice. I aborted my breakfast attempt because only the Express line seemed to be operating and what I wanted was from the Grill line. The line was pretty long and seemed to be moving slowly, and it was way too hot in there, so I gave up. For lunch, lines do get backed up. You have to stand in the appropriate line depending what station the food you want to order belongs to. There is a salad station, a sandwich and pizza station, an entree station, and a grill station. On my first visit, I got the weekly special at the time, the Southwestern Chicken Wrap. I waited for probably 15 minutes to order. The woman building my wrap was very friendly and when she was almost done, she asked me if I wanted sauce inside the wrap since it didn't come with dressing like other wraps did. I said sure and asked for whatever she thought would be best. However, she put way too much sauce and it ended up being extremely messy. I even ended up getting sauce on my dress, which luckily is a thick black material that doesn't show stains or grease marks. What I also didn't like is that they ask you "Do you want chips, fries, or a pickle?" in a way that would make you think it is included as a side option. Not so, I'm afraid! I was charged an extra $1.80 for the chips. They are house-made, kettle-style and seasoned well, but I wouldn't have gotten them if I knew they weren't included. I think the prices are a little bit up there, if I'm being totally honest. On my second visit, I opted to get the Mediterranean Chicken salad. The portion is generous, and the taste was for the most part decent. The chickpeas that came with it were disgusting though- don't know if they were spoiled or what? I normally love chickpeas! These tasted like mildew, and I ended up picking them all out of the salad. I also don't think I love their chicken that they use in sandwiches and wraps and salads. It is cut into pretty large chunks and it is very moist (tooooo moist) and for the most part flavorless. I don't think I'll be ordering anything else with their cubed grilled chicken if I return in the future. One final note- some menu items aren't labeled well. For instance, a coworker of mine headed down to the cafe upon seeing a salmon option on the weekly rotating menu- "Garlic Dijon Salmon" - turns out it's a pasta dish. There's nothing that would tell you that it's pasta unless you go down there and see it for yourself. I would recommend that the cafe name their dishes a little better, or include more of a description. Their weekly menu changes, but it follows a pattern of different twists on the same food item types every week. Mondays are pork and chicken, Tuesdays are seafood and chicken, Wednesdays are beef and wings, Thursdays are seafood and chicken, and Friday is a seafood dish. My assessment overall is that this is in the bottom tier of building cafés. The cafeterias in OAC (Carolyn's) and even the Proscenium (Proscenium Market) are better than Bistro 1230 in my opinion.

I asked for a grilled cheese with white American cheese. What I got was some kind of cheese that pulled when I bit it like mozzarella but it was orange.. And my bread had onions from the grill on it.

Raw potatoes. Supposed to be roasted with rosemary. Raw.Food is extremely inconsistent. Over cooked one day, raw the next and then about 1 out of 5, cooked just right
