This is my second time at the location in The Vivian. First time I walked in I noticed no physical menu. No issue, I know what I'd like to order. Iced coffee please. The lady behind the counter was having trouble finding the item on the POS and didn't interact with me much at all. I overheard it was only a few days after they opened so I chalked it up to unfamiliarity with a new system. The iced coffee was fine I guess. Nothing really noteworthy. I might have even asked the barista more questions about the coffee they used if I had a feeling they would know the answer. Fast forward to Jan 10th '25, snow day in the city. Props to Black Coffee for being open on a day like today. Same thing, no physical menu, but this time I notice the QR codes that are by the order counter and am told it's a link to the menu. (I recall them being there first visit too, I just don't scan random unlabeled QR codes.) upon looking over the digital menu I notice the lack of pricing. I ask the barista what the cost of the sandwiches are. She says it depends on the sandwich and what's in the sandwich. Which is a great reason to have pricing on the menu. For example, they have an item called The Bodega Sammich: your choice of meat, your choice of cheese, your choice of bread, + a fried egg and special sauce. But nowhere on the menu is a list of the meats, cheeses, or breads to pick from. And it seems like the price would change depending on which ingredients I pick. Why not just have a more thoughtfully designed menu? I'm not taking a gamble on the food this time- it's snowing, I'll order an americano. She rings me up and walks away with the tip screen up and it's automatically set to pick a 15% tip. I had to do a double take, the price for my Americano pre-tip post-tax was $7.36. I kept the tip off. I don't know enough of the variables at play, but an americano from Portrait down the street plus a three dollar tip still costs me less than $6.36. Anyway- I accept the fate of my $7 Americano, I could have asked more questions about the price or not have paid when the prompt was up, but I felt the pressure of being the person first in line. A few minutes later an approximately 12oz coffee cup is placed in front of me- my Americano is here. I reach out to pick it up off the counter- it feels light. I pop off the lid and it's less than 4oz of liquid. Just tastes like a shot of espresso that was being pulled too long. Kinda weird. Overall, I don't think I'll continue to support this business. There are other shops that have more transparent pricing and higher attention to detail. There have been multiple reviews pointing out how the menu has no pricing, and the leadership here refuses to change. That's fine, there's other coffee shops I can walk to from my place.

Had the pleasure of trying coffee at this establishment. As I walked in I was greeted immediately and helped with the menu. I had the "Dear Mama Latte" and it was so yummy! I really enjoyed the music and the setup the shop. I will be coming back again and recommending to friends!

One of my favorite coffee shops. The lattes are amazing. Brown suga baby and Marleaux my love are my favorites. Excellent customer service. Great vibes. I often look for a cup of coffee after work for my drive home. I love that they are open late during the week. They are along the beltline so it's also the perfect spot to grab coffee before taking my dog for a walk.

Black Coffee ATL is truly a gem in the heart of Atlanta. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting ambiance that feels like a mix of modern sophistication and cozy charm. The decor is thoughtfully designed, making it the perfect spot for a quick coffee run, catching up with friends, or even getting some work done.
The coffee? Absolutely phenomenal. Whether you’re a fan of a bold espresso or a smooth latte, Black Coffee ATL delivers every time. Their menu boasts a variety of options, including creative signature drinks that you won’t find anywhere else. They also offer dairy-free and vegan options, catering to every preference.
But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. The baristas are knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They make you feel like more than just a customer – they make you feel like part of the community.
If you haven’t tried their pastries yet, you’re missing out! The selection is as fresh and flavorful as their coffee.
Overall, Black Coffee ATL is more than just a coffee shop – it’s an experience. If you’re in Atlanta, this is a must-visit spot that will leave you coming back for more. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed visiting this new black owned coffee shop in the West End. It's right off the beltline on Allene Ave. The interior is a modern, cozy vibe with some cool artwork. The service was very pleasant. Mya is awesome and always professional. I came with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon. It's not a very large space, but there was more than enough seating for us to enjoy our drinks inside. I look forward to visiting again.

I went in today for a grilled cheese sandwich the staff didn’t seem personable at all. The place was not very clean coffee drops left on the counter. I will not be going anymore the grill cheese was ok not worth 8.00 dollars.

A little expensive but good. The overall atmosphere is great. Associates are very friendly, which made my first visit very enjoyable. They were careful to make sure I got what I really wanted. Their friendliness alone will keep me coming back.

Was a good place to for a quick nice cup of coffee
My fiance and I had such a lovely experience here. I had the best Carmel macchiato I’ve ever had in my life. The staff was very friendly, the muffins were great, and the inside is very well decorated and welcoming. This is a wonderful spot to grab a coffee and hang out for a bit!

I left here feeling ripped off and noticed several red flags. First red flag, the menu didn't have prices on it. You have to have the worker ring it up to get a price on anything. That's a bit ridiculous. I shouldn't have to filter through the barista about what I can or am willing to spend. Not sure if they think that's cute or if business planning is so poor that they cannot commit to pricing the items. I mean you're not re-inventing the wheel here. It's a coffee shop. Coffee shops have been done thousands of times. If they are unsure, it seems there are plenty of examples for them to copy and paste until they figure it out. Second red flag, worker was not pleasant. A coffee shop should have pleasant people as grabbing coffee and tea are pleasant little rituals that people should enjoy. Third, $11 for avocado toast on store bought bread and store bought avocado spread. It was gross. I suggest either come up with fresh recipes or charge a price that makes sense for what you're offering. The Daily offers avocado toast for $8 on fresh baked bread with fresh avocados. To think your customers lack the discernment to recognize prepackaged avocado spread is insulting. I spent literally $20 for a matcha and avocado toast that was not even good. Lastly, when my drink was ready it was placed at the end of the bar, and the barista didn't bother to let me know. No, it was not a busy day. It felt like she just did not GAF. Overall, this place did not give me good feels. There are way too many good coffee shops and cafes in the city like Little Tart and the Daily. I hope they take the feedback and do better.
