I’ve been here twice in the last couple of months and both times were incredible! The menu was totally different each time and both times, the food blew me away! The atmosphere was friendly and they go above and beyond if it’s your birthday by gifting you a signed card!

Second time coming here, and this is such a great spot if you’re looking for a fine dining vibe with a laid-back feel. The food is top-notch—every plate feels like it’s made with real attention to detail. This is a perfect spot for date night or with a group of friends.

Bovino After Dark is an excellent dining experience. It is the most underrated tasting menu in Atlanta.

I’ve been three times and the tasting menu is always creative, thoughtful and delicious.

The atmosphere is intimate and laid back and while you’re waiting for your dishes you’re able to clearly see the chefs working on their creations. So you get a bonus behind the scenes look at a well run, high caliber kitchen in motion.

I always look forward to a fine dining experience and this one really fell flat in terms of texture, flavor, and temperature. There was something off with every dish sometimes due to just a lack of intention. Disappointing because I’ve heard good things.

For instance: Liquid nitrogen was added to the oysters. It looks cool and I’m sure it kept the ice component cold but the amount used completely frozen the pickle. Biting into frozen vegetables while you eat an oyster… it ruined what would have been a nice composition.

The first two dishes were plated beautifully but the components didn't taste cohesive, emphasized bitterness and were compositionally very wet. You had to search for a good bite.

3rd course lamb was good. Wish there was more of it.

4th course pork belly had the best balance of flavor, but was cold. Maybe because they don’t have any heat lamps? Everything desirable about pork belly is a result of its hot juicy melt in your mouth quality. Could have made a good dish great…

Dessert was tasty, but very sweet and was the largest course of every dish served which felt off.

There are plenty of much better places to eat for probably $100 less than what we spent. Would say it’s an overrated experience.

Food was very tasty and inventive. The flavor combinations were interesting but worked so well. The staff was also incredible - very friendly, funny. They explained everything we were eating in details and were quick to provide service.

The space was fine, tucked away in the back corner. But it didn’t take away from the experience at all.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience – A Hidden Gem in Atlanta!

Bovino After Dark completely blew me away. What started as an impromptu dinner invite turned into one of the most memorable nights I’ve had in Atlanta. I had the pleasure of celebrating my partner’s 35th birthday here with eight of our closest friends, and everything about the evening was exceptional.

Alex Sher of Hero Bovino has teamed up with Chris McCord of Salt Your Food to create an adventurous dinner concept called Bovino After Dark—and it’s unlike anything else in the city. This is an intimate dining experience where you can imbibe, dine, and witness your dishes being cooked and plated right before your eyes. The open kitchen creates an immersive energy where you not only eat—you feel the process, the craft, and the passion.

The freshness of the ingredients and the complexity of each dish blew us away. Watching the chefs work in perfect sync, while explaining textures, flavors, and intention behind every course, was like dinner and a show—but elevated to art.

It truly felt like we were dining in New York, not Atlanta. This experience redefined my view of the city’s food scene. Atlanta is evolving, and Bovino After Dark is leading the way into this new era of culture and culinary exploration.

Special thanks to Chef Chris for your brilliance in the kitchen and to Alex for your warm hospitality. Everyone in our group—many of whom work in the film industry—was captivated. It’s rare to find a space that both inspires and educates, but Bovino After Dark does just that.

Thank you for creating something so meaningful. I can’t wait to return.

I’ve managed to hit up the lion’s share of restaurants, chef’s tables, supper clubs, and pop-up experiences in Atlanta over the years. While I’ve enjoyed exceptional meals, there hasn’t been one service that I would reorder EVERY dish with the deepest desire to lick the plate clean …until Bovino After Dark.

Helmed by @saltyourfood_atl & the most personable, unpretentious, & gracious crew, this omakase-style, 12-seat, intimate yet bustling-with-energy-and-good-vibes chef’s counter experience was so damn good I could barely contain myself. It’s very rare to enjoy ingredients that have been reimagined into food that catches you by surprise. Every dish left me wanting more …which unfortunately won’t be happening since the menu changes frequently.

But on the upside, I guess this means I’ll be back next month!

I have not experienced the after dark dinner yet but the happy hour has been a hit! Wonderful staff that’s very attentive and makes you feel at home. A beautiful display of culinary excellence and skill! Talk about a show! The food has been great! Great concept with great prices for what you get. Myself and partner are definitely repeating customers and we intend on continuing this!! Can’t wait for summer so we can come by even more! ❤️

Bovino after dark is a strange experience. While we greatly appreciated the amount of care and effort that went into the dishes, most of them fell flat on taste and concept.
It seems a common theme in some of the reviews but you are upsold over priced options throughout your already overpriced meal, so much so that the waiter made us put our hands up if we didn’t want to spend $30 on a “mystery” intermezzo course. In between each course the chefs wanted feedback on the dish, which pressured you into saying it was amazing, even if it wasn’t.
The staff was attentive, but maybe even too attentive as they inserted themselves into every aspect of the meal.
Overall, the vibes of Bovino after dark come across confused and desperate to be a fine dining experience. They should focus more on delivering better food, and less on exotic concepts.
