There are many reasons to live in Lake Oconee, the very best is Cafe 44, great people and even better food

Traveling and Googled breakfast and you are the one we picked and you did not disappoint. Great service, great coffee(very important) and a very tasty breakfast. If the opportunity arises we will definitely be back.

Food is wonderful - their pastrami sandwich is my favorite. Seating is a premium, as it is a small cafe. But worth the wait.

We dropped in for a quick lunch bite. Service was friendly and efficient. I decent menu selection. I decided to try the pastrami sandwich. It was delicious. Also tried the fudge brownie - yum yum. I'll be back.

Stopped by for lunch on the way to Atlanta. The ordering process was a bit cumbersome (the line started at the entrance door, some customers didn't look at the menu prior to placing their order) and the drink station is in a terrible location (customers have to pass through the line to get their drinks and then back through the line to find a table, really nowhere else to put the drink station in that small space though) but the food was wonderful! I ordered a club sandwich with a side of chips and that was the best club sandwich I have ever eaten. It's a simple sandwich but they made it perfectly! Will definitely be back!

Small little cafe…the food is yummy and consistent. The Belgian waffle is always a treat. Even something as simple as an egg sandwich, they’ve elevated. Just delicious.

Stopped in after work to get a sandwich. Between the two of us we got sweet heat sandwiches, pasta salad, creamy potato soup, a pecan pie bar and an apple fritter. Everything was delicious! Can’t believe I have passed this place so many times and never stopped. Excellent lunch!

We have been coming to Cafe 44 since it opened. I should have written a review sooner since we love this place. Our favorite is breakfast but we love lunch too. It seems like Cafe 44 is the only place that knows how to make eggs over medium. Other restaurants either make them hard or runny. My husband raves about the blueberry pancakes that are really awesome. The egg/bacon/cheese sandwich is fantastic. Pastrami sandwich is soooo good. Thanks to Ally and Jessica for great service. Bob/Carol thankyou for opening this wonderful restaurant in the Lake Oconee area. By the way, you are not allowed to retire ever!!

Stopped hear for breakfast after a trip to the Ritz Carlton and couldn't have been happier. The breakfast sandwich was so good my son who isn't a breakfast eater ate half of mine! We live over an hour away and just might be making a road trip to this little gem. We were there on Christmas Eve and saw at least 4 quarts of tomato basil soup being picked up by different people to go. The place is small but was social distancing and seem to do a hefty to go business which enables the few tables to be less in demand. Although it was raining that day and not in use, I did notice there was outside patio seating. I can't wait to try this place for lunch and breakfast again.

This place is a diamond in an ocean of coal!!! Food is aways good. Service is spot on and polite. Best sandwich shop in town and as a result is normally packed. I do find it odd we could not get two sandwich shops that are good but should be happy we at least have one. Don’t waste your time going else where. Just endure the wait and come here it will be worth it.

After golf we stopped for soup and a sandwich. It was so delicious that we came for breakfast today and took along more Chicken Gumbo. Friendly service; great food and very clean. Very convenient for to our stay in Reynolds Lodge at Lake Oconee

Came here for lunch after reading the local reviews. Walked in and had to get our bearings on how things work here. Sat down and read the menu, then went up to order by the cash register. Did the soup and half sandwich combo, ordering the tomato basil soup/half hot ham & cheese sandwich. My wife ordered the barbecue sandwich with potato salad. A nice stop and very good first time meal here.
