I stopped by Continental Seafood on Bankhead to finally try it out since it’s a well-known spot on the Westside.

First thing I want to mention is the customer service — the cashier had a beautiful spirit. She greeted everyone who walked in, was very kind, and made the experience welcoming. That alone goes a long way.

As for the food, I ordered the turkey necks with corn, potatoes, and broccoli. They were okay — not bad, but not something I would rush back for. We also tried the fried shrimp and fries, and I could tell I came later in the evening because the fried food didn’t taste as fresh. The grease seemed old, which affected the flavor.

That said, I’m trying to be fair. I came toward the end of the night, so I don’t want to judge the place completely off that visit. I plan to come back earlier in the day when they first open to see if the food quality is different, because fresh grease and fresh batches definitely matter.

I’m from the Westside and I really want to support places in my area. This visit just wasn’t my favorite, but I can see how others may enjoy it — especially if they come at the right time.

I’ll update my review after I give it another try.

The female worker that was taking orders had poor customer service skills. If you can't multitask and dealing with lots of people makes you easily frustrated, you don't need this job.

It’s not in the best neighborhood, but the food is always good. I love their crawfish, fried ocean perch, and fried shrimp combo always hit! Definitely my go to spot for good and affordable seafood.

Today was my first time coming here to get food. While I walked into the door something hit me really had on my head and I stepped aside and looked up to see that it was , it’s like a loose door stopper . The only reason it didn’t hit me on my face was because I was looking down while coming in . There are two ladies sitting and waiting on their food that witnessed the incident as well. They were surprised but what was more surprising to me Is the lack of empathy and how the man that worked their dismissed me as if nothing happened and asked me to call the police when I asked about the manager to talk to and he told me that the Manager went to New York and I can’t talk to anyone but if I want I should call the police .
I have pictures of the incident . I must say that this is not a great way to treat your customer that got hurt because of your carelessness.
I still need to talk to the manager .

The seafood is fresh and fried/steamed to perfection. They have a seasoning station so you can add seasoning if you need extra. Good selection, they steam broccoli and have turkey necks too.

Vegetarian options: The corn and potatoes and steamed broccoli, fried okra are good. 👍
