Food here is "ok". Go here if you like paying $$$ for "ok" food and service. The only thing this place has going for it is the location and "ambiance". Just stick with the solid picks around here: Superica, El Super Pan, Antico...and go elsewhere for "fine dining" this place isn't it.

Oh, and, there is a blond woman manager who is condescending to minorities.

The food:

The filet mignon was covered with butter and kind of cold by the time it came out.

Braised ribs were ok, not as tender as we imagined but acceptable, but also arrived cold for some reason.

The lobster soup was a tiny little cup, and just "ok". Ripoff.

The seared scallops were meh and we only got THREE scallops.

The potstickers were extremely salty and totally soggy, and whatever seafood inside was miniscule, hard, tough, and indistinguishable. Supposedly shrimp and lobster.

Dessert was chocolate cake, pretty typical, and the cheesecake was ok too.

The service was surprisingly slow, waiter was talking with coworkers. Took us over 2hrs to get through the meal and it wasn't even that crowded.

On discrimination:

At a table near us some Asian ladies were not told there would be an extra "prefix" charge for the filet mignon. Ok so why was it on the $55 dinner menu in the first place? Because honestly I also was surprised to see that extra amount on my bill; the menu seemed to be set up to indicate the prefix would apply if you ordered a la carte ($42 plus $7 prefix, which imo why not just put $50, why even list it at $42...). I kind of sucked it up but good for them for speaking up as I'm sure other people were also confused and ended up overpaying but just didn't speak up. Especially after seeing how they were treated:

The blond woman, who just awhile ago walked up to greet an older WHITE couple warmly as they were eating, spoke very rudely to these Asian ladies. Her words were ok but the tone was clearly condescending and loud enough to carry. I was surprised for the amount they were spending on the overall meal (they came for the Christmas Eve 3 course dinner special for $55 which we also came for), and it seemed like they were first-time customers who were pleasant and asked nicely about the charge--why she couldn't just take it off, especially since the waiter and the menu were not clear. That made it seem like she didn't care for these customers.

Overall, it's just not that great and kind of "meh" here aside from the nice interior.

My friend and I came here on a Monday night and were able to dine without a reservation. I loved every bit of this experience from the ambiance, to the food, to the service. Everything was great! We ordered a couple wine flights, a charcuterie board and one pizza to share. Everything was great. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Nick! Was! Awesome! I had the best time with my mom here, we had the most relaxing lunch and he was the best person to recommend us the best things. I am not home very often, but this was one of my favorite lunches with my mom and Nick made it even better as our server! I definitely recommend coming here and having Nick!

Beautiful, sophisticated wine bar with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The charcuterie was delicious, especially the prosciutto. The hummus had a stronger nutter flavor than I prefer, likely due to more tahini, but still a great texture.

Bad brunch experience. Started when we were seated (group of 5 ladies) and no server came over for about 10 minutes. We finally asked someone if we can be waited on and a server came over. Mind you we were only 1 of 5 tables in there at this time so it was not busy . Drinks were served but they ran out of peach juice and subbed guava without asking and it was not good so sent it back. The server was not friendly when asking about the menu and the brunch menu was small and they were already out of items at 1pm on a Sunday. The spinach dip was pretty much soup . Also frustrating was that a table behind us of 10 was being treated like royalty. Both servers continuously going up to them and refilling drinks and asking what they needed while we waited. We were even the last table in the place and still weren’t being acknowledged. The servers made our experience very negative.

Thanksgiving at Cru was the best home a way experience. Julie was cheerful and a delight at the door when we walked in. She brought us to our seats where Aiden at the bar was welcoming and his service was on point the whole meal.

From the food to the atmosphere and the people; good memories and times had by all!

A Culinary Delight in Atlanta

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a wine bar in Atlanta, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the three-course meal was a symphony of flavors paired perfectly with their extensive wine selection.

The evening began with a delightful appetizer: a creamy Lobster Risotto. Each bite was indulgent yet light, setting the tone for the rest of the meal.

For the main course, I enjoyed a perfectly cooked short rib, paired with a butternut squash goat cheese polenta, and a side of chanterelle mushrooms. The short rib was tender and flavorful, complemented beautifully by a bold Malbec recommended by Aidan, the sommelier.

Dessert was the perfect finale—a rich Apple Pie with a cinnamon spice whipped cream. The pairing? A bright port wine that elevated the decadence to another level.

The ambiance was intimate and sophisticated, and the staff was incredibly attentive, making the entire experience feel luxurious yet warm. If you’re in Atlanta and looking for a memorable dining experience, this wine bar should be at the top of your list!

Highly recommend it for date nights, celebrations, or simply treating yourself. A true gem!

We spent thanksgiving at Cru, and it was delicious. I had the arugula salads to start, it was flavorful and delicious. Next, I had the salmon with asparagus! The salmon was cooked perfectly! For dessert, I had the pumpkin cheesecake and it did not disappoint. Our bartender on this day was spectacular, he was knowledgeable and friendly! Will definitely be back!!!

Parking: Park at red deck or green it’s the closest!

I feel like I have food poisoning!!! Immediately after eating my stomach starting hurting. Been home on toilet for an hr…. The service was a 4/10. The server we had was the nicest staff member; other staff members seemed to cater to non POC customers in an obvious manner. The ambiance was really nice. Although I’m not a wine connoisseur, the selections looked nice. We tried the calmari appetizer. Soup & grilled cheese. The steak entree as well as the chicken entree.

I recently visited Cru and was impressed by the overall ambiance and the extensive wine selection. The atmosphere is inviting, making it an excellent spot for a relaxed evening out. The wine list is diverse, with options that cater to various tastes, which was definitely a highlight of the experience.

I was less satisfied with the kitchen service. It took nearly 30 minutes for my order to arrive, which felt a bit long for a relatively simple dish on a Thursday night. When the Margherita pizza finally came, I found it to be overly salty, which detracted from the overall flavor. While the setting and wine were great, the food and kitchen service could use some improvement.

Vegetarian options: There were two pizza options for vegetarians.

We went for late lunch….party of 10. We were seated immediately. I was advised they had limited menus and could only give us 3. (Please invest in printable menus or a barcode to scan/this was inconvenient to say the least). Our waiter was nice and he did his best to keep check on us. We eventually ordered. Now….it took an hour to get food. I don’t agree with the..” let’s bring out all food together” when there is a large party. If it is coming out around the same time then there should be no problem. I’ve definitely been to restaurants who have a disclaimer that they bring food out as it is done. With that being said. A lot of our food was luke warm. We were all starving by this point so we ate it. One dish was incorrect as they requested no sausage (they did not eat that particular meat/dietary restriction) and it was sent back immediately. Our waiter came back about 15 mins later to say they had no more nachos. SMH. He cancelled his order and went without. Very inconvenient. Another person sent back food due to the bun being rock solid. Honestly my bun and another’s were a bit on the “crispy” side but we ate it. I don’t understand why cooks know they are this way but still decide to plate the food. Nevertheless, the food was okay. Maybe would’ve been better if it was hot. The nachos per 3 people stated they were “extremely “ spicy. One was unable to finish their meal. And yes, they do like spicy food. We were initially advised prior we would have 1 check, which is outlandish these days bc just bc you are with a group doesn’t mean we know each other…but that’s another conversation. But…we were able to make separate payments. (Individually and some couples). I’m not sure I would be back but if I could get food a little quicker and hotter I may have a different outlook on the spot.
