Their phone is disconnected, they don’t respond to any emails, and the location in Grant park looked closed down when I stopped by. Online it says they were open but the lights were off and no one was there. Very disappointing as it still allows you to make a reservation online so now I am out of money.

The ambience was lovely and the service was decent. But. They only serve one type of tea and it’s pretty weak. I think this would really benefit from a tea variety instead of just one option. The food is also lackluster. The “clotted cream” is not real clotted cream, and the rest of the food seems like it came from Costco or similar. Overall, I don’t feel the need to ever return.

I enjoyed the decor but otherwise this was a disappointing experience for afternoon tea. I've been to afternoon tea at a variety of places across the US and overseas, because I love afternoon tea so much, and I was excited that with their move to Grant Park, I'd have a tea place closer to home. But I won't be returning here.

The staff was very nice, but rarely visible. Most tables hadn't been fully set when we arrived. Silverware and napkins didn't arrive until after the tea and food. And the food took about 15-20 minutes after the seating time to come out.

The tea was tightly bagged so it took several minutes after the pot arrived for it to steep to an acceptable strength (although still weak-- I think more tea leaves were needed for the amount of water). There is only one type of tea offered so if you need an herbal or non-black tea, you're out of luck.

Food looked and tasted like it'd come from a grocery store bakery. Edible but nothing special and definitely not worth the price.

I'd say, if you want a tea party for little girls or if you've never had an afternoon tea experience, Dr. Bombay's may be okay, although I'd still expect the execution to be better. But if you care about good food and good tea, there are more worthwhile places around.

This was really poor. My wife wanted to have high tea for her birthday and had her eye on this place when it was in Candler Park. They moved to Grant Park as a weekend pop-up and it was not worth going. Decor is nice and the staff were friendly although unprepared. No silverware, food and tea weren’t ready. One tea choice and food that seemed like it came from the supermarket. Underwhelmed would be an exaggeration.

I’ve traveled many places over the last 10 years and make a point to find at least one tea room to enjoy a pot of tea. Unfortunately, this is on the lesser enjoyable experiences.
Food: sub par at best, nothing stood out as good or bad.
Tea: there are no tea options, just one. Thankfully, I am a fan of the only option available, however I do enjoy a variety of teas and flavors. Also, the water was mildly warm and had to wait over 10 mins for a good steep.
Service: no one was present to greet me. There was one person working for a full room. Not enough attention provided for each table.
Atmosphere: I was expecting more based on photos, however it was dark, crowded and sat at table by the bookshelf staring at blankets of dust. Also found it very distracting and disrupting to have patrons from the cafe next door using the space for their children to play and run around. I would also recommend an adults only tea time.

Yikes, the personality and homey vibe is gone in the brand new location. Hope you like high tea!

While the decor was quaint, it felt like I was having tea in the middle of a children's playground. I understand that businesses cannot always choose their clientele, but a suggestion would be to have time slots for kids to enjoy and time slots for adults only. Also, closing off the play area to the cafe customers may help.

The food was cheap and mediocre at best. For $50+, this was ridiculously overpriced. The sandwich for example, had about a tablespoon of pimento cheese and two pieces of bread. For ~$100 spent for two people, I feel like the value of the food and tea should have been $20/person maximum.

The service was not great as well. There was only one person working as the server for the entire room. I don't think it was her fault, as she seemed to be doing the best she could.

For high tea and especially at this price point, we expected a better experience. We will not be returning customers.

Such a great place, so much food, thank you for vegetarian options, really yummy, with very attentive service. I highly recommend!

Way overpriced for high tea. Went with a group and ended up paying over $40 per person for a cup of black tea, half a pimento cheese sandwich and a small brownie. Admittedly, I can’t eat egg so I didn’t have as many options as everyone else and they don’t do dietary accommodations but still only worth max $20 per person in my opinion. Staff were friendly and nice and the food I did have was tasty. Just can justify spending that much and then going home hungry.

We had a reservation and it took them 20+ mins to seat us. Tea was basically just hot water, pretty flavorless, sandwiches were pretty bland homemade simple ones, same with the quiche and other desserts. Only thing that tasted good was the scone with clotted cream. We asked for more tea and they just topped up the same kettle with more hot water making it even more watered down. They didn’t give us spoons, when we asked we got 2 for 4 of us. Asked for napkins got 3. The restroom was abysmal. Overall experience was not worth it at all, wouldn’t recommend.

Don't waste your time. This place is unorganized. We made reservations for 2pm and it's 2:21 and still have not been seated. Save yo money and sanity, make some tea at home. Not to mention 2 parties who came in after us were sat before us.

Went for my friends birthday party and they gave us a few plates of stale food, watered down teas (I am convinced they put water in a cup and microwaved it) and didn't come back to check on us. We ended up leaving early but everyone fell asleep in the car because they def drugged us. Never will return
