I reserved and PAID for a high tea for 7 - I have to cancel my reservation due to unforeseen food allergies. I have called, emailed twice, left a comment on Instagram and called again. ZERO response. I will have to go to this place IN PERSON and require a refund. Absolutely unacceptable. Do NOT spend money here.
My daughter did a tea party here for her 5th birthday. They had a amazing time. I loved the clotted cream.
0/10. My friends and I booked our reservation for two over a week in advance and paid in advance. When we arrived at the location, the waiter was definitely not expecting us/didn't have our reservation on the books. He (accusingly) asked my friend to pull up the reservation, looked at it, saw it was correct like we said, and said "Yeah, that's right I guess." He and the rest of the staff were then very visibly distressed scrambling to set up a table for us while not interacting or communicating with us at all. At our table, we were given dirty plates and tea cups. A server came by to drop off our food and did not speak to us. We had to ask more than once for water, and to give our tea order after waiting for 20 minutes. The tea did not arrive until we had been there for at least 45 minutes.
As for the food, it was clear that the staff assembled scraps to try to accommodate us. The stones were rock hard and completely inedible. The frosting on the cupcakes was at least 90%, if not 100% butter. The egg salad sandwich was old and mushy, and the cucumber sandwich had almost no filling. Everything we ate was stale. The tea was weak, and we were suprised to see that it was made from grocery store tea bags- at a tea house. Overall, we interacted with staff for probably 30 seconds out of our entire hour visit. We had little to no service, no interaction, and zero explanations. Staff would not make eye contact or even greet/speak to us and the whole experience was very strange and awkward.
This was an experience I would be upset to pay $20 for, let alone $100. $100 for horrible service, a missed reservation, inedible food, and tea that I could get for $3 a pack at the grocery store is completely ridiculous. I would not ever recommend spending money here.
I will start with this location is great, and the space was really cute. Everything was served in vintage dish ware and the furniture was shabby chic. I think for the price, it was a little underwhelming. If you were to bring your little kid here, it would be a perfect little tea party for them. I’ve had high tea in London, so I know it’s not really fair to compare, but I was expecting a little bit more.
For the service: the staff was really nice and helpful when choosing the tea. Water wasn’t offered until well into the service and I had to ask for milk for my tea. Not a huge deal. The staff was super friendly though, and it was a busy day.
For the tea and treats: there was a large selection of teas. I thought my tea was a bit weak. I’m used to loose leaf tea, but I understand that it can be messy and most Americans are used to bagged tea, which is fine. It could also have been the variety I chose. I went with herbal, and you need a lot more tea to get it steeped right. I bet a black tea would have been nice and strong and there were over four black tea varieties.
The sandwiches and scones were delicious. Clotted cream is super hard to get in the states, so there was a tasty homemade whipped cream instead. I thought the cookies were a little stale and very comparable to something I would get at the supermarket. I also thought there would be more variety of treats and sandwiches on the tray.
I think I will give it another try because I love the concept and love supporting small businesses. It also could have been the day that I was there as it was a busy Saturday.
Was the Best Tea spot....had to change my review. It's fallen apart.....hours are wrong and just odd....loved this place sad to see it fall apart
Cool place, great tea. But cramped and only had a cinnamon scone (it was a good scone, though)
Atmosphere and tea are amazing. Usually 5 out of 5 stars but the clerk today wasn’t knowledgeable on tea, didn’t know what pastries were in stock, and never brought my second drink out to me.
Very disappointed….this is NOT a high tea experience.
Place is really cute. The tea comes out of a plastic package in a bag. And the coffee is absolutely horrific. If you’re not doing high tea, there are so many better coffee and tea places in the area
Horrible experience , and please do yourself a favor and not book this place for high tea. Terrible Service , and stale food. Worst experience today with my family.

Food and tea were good but I lost my wallet there. The employees were helpful in finding it but when I picked it up I found someone went through it and took all my cash.
Went today and it was really nice! Scone was warmed up and very delicious, also loved the brownies and quiche. Service was also good! ?
Not that impressed with the food, unfortunately
Parking: Free parking on street but only like 5 spaces. After that, I would have no idea where to park

If I could give 0 stars I would. My experience at Dr. Bombay's Underwater Tea party was beyond disgusting. I scheduled a tea party for 8/17/24 and discovered rat droppings in the room that I paid over $600 to rent. I informed the shift supervisor and he said that he'd have someone contact me, but as I understand it, their policy is all sales are final and I cannot receive a refund. However, a rat infestation is where I draw the line! I could have taken that same amount of money and had a cleaner and more upscale experience at a number of places in metro Atlanta, but I liked the fact that Dr. Bombay's supported a worthy charity.
However I cannot in good conscience support a place that puts its customers at risk with such uncleanliness! This was meant to be a birthday celebration for my 16 year old daughter, but it was marred by the discovery of the filth in their establishment on top of serving us pots of water (there was no tea), and stale pastries. Also, this was supposed to be high tea but there was no service. They just left trays and cups all over the table and didn't bother to check how many guests would be in the room. This was beyond unacceptable and certainly not worth a penny that was spent! Please stay far away from this place for your health!
