The food was moldy, underbaked, and overall dry and stale in the high tea take away boxes. Surprisingly nothing was burnt. They did issue me a full refund and offer to remake everything. The tea was the best part.

I really enjoyed my experience. The atmosphere is great place for personal me time. The raspberry tea with honey was simply amazing. Brenda and Yae were so friendly and they explained the menu!

Not for coffee, they do not know how to make anything, and truly just some of the worst coffee I’ve had in the city. This place must be only for tea.

PSA for anyone booking with Dr. Bombay's Underwater Tea Party - when reserving a time, it automatically assigns you the next week day (e.g. a Saturday booking assigns you the next Saturday) without telling you.Needless to say, we missed our tea time. No explanation or compensation given from the business despite multiple attempts by me to contact and possibly re-book.Would not recommend.

I’ve been coming here for years. & haven’t visited in awhile. And sadly it wasn’t what I’d remembered. The place needed a deep deep clean. The bathroom was pretty gross. & The pastry case was empty. They were out of a lot of their teas. I’m hoping it was just an off day because I really used to enjoy this place. The staff was super nice & knowledgeable though!

I had my bridal shower here, and when I walked in they didn’t even seem like they knew we had a reservation. They gave us one jug of water for 13 people. On jug filled 5 ppls glasses. The food was stale, and the presentation was half hazard. After they set everything out they never came to check on our party again. Overall a really disappointing experience. Also, they do not cater to any dietary restrictions. They used to care more, but things really took a turn since the pandemic.

We reserved the room for a larger group. Love the atmosphere but the high tea was super disappointing. We didn't get to choose our teas. I was also hoping for loose leaf tea but we got tea bags and the teas seemed stale as they weren't very flavorful. The staff didn't once come check on us. The desserts were probably the biggest letdown. The price per person did not reflect the quality of items we received nor the service. There are better high tea places in metro atlanta.

Very shabby and dusty inside. No room to sit or move around. The servers are inattentive and don’t care. The front door can’t open because people are blocking the door which is a fire hazard. Nope.

The space is cramped. At the entrance there is a seat right at the door that will keep you from coming in if a person is sitting there. I don’t think that complies with fire safety. What I found most awkward was trying to get to the bathroom. The “reserved” area is on the way to the bathroom so if there’s an event happening (which there was when I visited) you have to shimmy thru a tight space between bookshelves and chairs to get to the bathroom while a group of people are trying to host an event…super inconvenient for everyone involved. There’s a “secret garden”/patio area in the back that is covered by wet leaves and puddles of water so you can’t sit there. There is no way to make an online reservation to get high tea even though that’s the only way you can get high tea ?? the server asked me if I saw their number on the website as if I would know to call to make a reservation that they prompt to book only online. The tea itself is served by tea bags and not loose leaf. They didn’t have pots anymore - idk how that happens - so we ordered two cups. For $4 per cup I’d think the least they can do is provide loose leaf. We had to ask twice for honey which they gave us with…nothing to stir it with. The aesthetic inside is not cute like it looks online. It looks shabby and dusty.

Great place! Love coming back to this nonprofit that sells tea and books.Got the rooibos tea with lemon and chiffon recently (Republic of Tea based in Marin County - Larkspur CA).A great cause, although I've always wondered who Dr. Bombay is and why the party is underwater. Ha!

TLDR/Warning: DO NOT BOOK FOR AN EVENT! This was escalated to the events team and they have not responded. They have shown they do not care about their customers or customer service. I do not like leaving disparaging reviews but this was so unbelievable. We booked the piano room for a private bridal shower and the experience was categorically unprofessional, resulting in a disappointing afternoon for everyone involved. I can confidently say I have never experienced this level of sloppiness and lack of care. Guests traveled from all over the country to partake in the celebration, only to be met with an utterly embarrassing and poorly executed event courtesy of the staff and management. Our event bore no resemblance to the photos of events on Google and Instagram. We arrived 35 minutes prior to 2pm so we would have ample time to set up for the event. When we arrived, we were told that the room was still not cleaned from a previous event but would be cleaned shortly. At 1:50, I had to remind the employee to clean the room. At this point, the hosts of the party began to bus the tables and dirty dishes  ourselves so we could at least have one clean table. At 1:55pm, there were still dirty dishes on the table and high tea was not set up. There were also still patrons in the piano room. Based on the event policy, “ALL HIGH TEA TRAYS WILL BE READY AT THE START OF THE PARTY ON ONE TABLE FOR GUESTS TO TAKE AND SIT WHEREVER THEY FEEL MOST COMFORTABLE.” This was the expectation we had for the event – we did not plan to have to bus tables and wait for our event to be set up until after it began. We didn’t get water until 30 minutes into the event (had to ask for this), the trays did not come until 45 minutes into the event and the tea did not arrive until an hour and 15 minutes into the event. The most comical part of this was they brought out the utensils and cloth napkins once everyone was done eating and about 30 minutes until the end of the event. We did get a kick out of that. Mind you, all of this was supposed to be set up prior to our arrival. As an “apology” for the inconveniences, the employees offered an extra hour for the event. While the thought was appreciated, that was not a realistic resolution. There were attendees who flew in from all over the country who needed to make their flights home. Mothers had to go pick-up their children from babysitters. Our expectation and desires were to have all services and offerings available within the two-hour window we had reserved for the room as described in the rental agreement.Awful experience.

Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism at Dr. Bombay's ruined a bridal shower that was booked months is advance. When we arrived for our event on October 15th, the tables were filled with dirty dishes and leftovers from the previous large party. The contract agreement stated that all items would be prepared and ready when we arrived. We bussed one table ourselves to make sure the bride had somewhere clean to sit.The servers did not serve water until 30 minutes after the event start time (without glasses), served our food trays 45 minutes into the event (without napkins/silverware), and served the tea one hour and 15 minutes into the party. The restaurant has been unresponsive and unhelpful since the event.
