El Tesoro is our go to neighborhood spot. Waiting in line (with chips and margs) is part of the whole experience! The food is always on point, the atmosphere is lively, and everyone always seems like they’re having a wonderful time. The staff is also great!

I was pleased with my Carnitas. But the rest of my table wasn’t happy. Two said the Asada tacos tasted bad and the Barbacoa was salty. Plus the salsas and margaritas were average. And as a total surprise for us, there is ZERO INDOOR seating. So drinking margaritas on a patio in metal chairs and no space heaters; not awesome on a cool 59° February night. I think this place could be for a younger party crowd and might be a lot of fun for them in the summertime. The humongous hole behind the bathroom door leads me to that conclusion.

My husband and I were so disappointed. Initially I wanted to try this spot when they first opened as it was suppose to be your traditional/authentic Mexican food. Well years later we went and I will have to say nothing traditional/authentic except the tamales.

Vegans and vegetarians heads up! Their rice is made with chicken stock so make sure to order the vegano burro if you end up going! Thanks El Tesoro for updating your menu to be clearer on what is safe for non-meat eaters!!

A little slice of Mexico in ATL!
I’ve been craving an authentic quesadilla for months and I finally found it in El Tesoro!
The ambiance is chill, personable and welcoming.
The menu has an array of choices from chips and guac to quesadillas.
All very authentic, tasty and simple.
Staff is helpful, hospitable and kind. I ordered a mango-habanero margarita and a barbacoa quesadilla. Absolutely DEVOURED it!
The weather was perfect the music was bumping, and I will definitely be suggesting this restaurant to my friends and family

The best burrito in Atlanta and one of the very best burritos I’ve had in my life. I don’t think about it, just go grab yourself one

The BEST mexican spot in the area. Tacos and quesadillas are to die for. The workers are so friendly and will give great recommendations if you ask. My friends and I are going to start coming here frequently.

I am a skeptical person always, it's a problem, and so usually I don't leave reviews to places I have been because my rule is if I don't have anything nice to say, just don't say anything at all. This place blew my socks off. There is a reason it's trendy and all the hipsters go here. Because it's amazing.
The atmosphere is so fun and in the spring and summer?! Fagedda bout it! Game over.
I'm convinced they have a magician making their food. I am picky and I have not one single critique. I'm also not sure I took a picture of any of the actual food but will amend that next time I go.

💣 🤤
Flavor was over exceeded. The spicy was spicing . But i enjoyed my meal . The cerdo fish an asada are the main go to . Like I was eating at home . They got a new customer. Fire

This is by far my favorite Mexican place in ATL (coming from a native New Mexican). They have great chips and salsa, lovely tacos, and delicious tamales. Their margaritas and ranch waters are the best! These days it's hard to find a time that the line isn't long, but it's worth the wait and you can swing around to the bar on the side and get margaritas while you wait in line. You can also get apps at the bar, which we just learned, so don't defer going because you just want chips, salsa, and margs, but don't want to wait in that long line. The staff are always so friendly and seem like they love their job. Outdoor seating only, dog friendly, street parking, and on a Beltline connecting path.

Me and my sister got wasted here the day after Christmas for my birthday lunch at 4pm. It was 70° outside. Truly some of the best Mexican cuisine I've ever had.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. I really haven't had a bad menu item. Great Horchata iced coffee, tamales, tacos, mulitas, and churros just to name a few items.
