I am shocked people say the food is worth the wait. I went there for lunch on a Saturday and stood in line for AN HOUR to order food. Then another 15 minutes waiting at the table. The food was pretty good but the long, hungry wait put me in such a bad mood I couldn't really enjoy it!

There is plenty of seating (all outdoor) and luckily the weather was nice. It seems like a great spot to go for drinks with friends since ordering from the bar is quick. It's also kid friendly but I did see a little boy cut himself on some barbed wire on a fence lining one side of the property which should probably be addressed.

This is a great neighborhood eatery, and it is almost always packed. The food is not authentic, but it tastes good. All seating is outside, but they have tents that can open up when the weather is appropriate. They have a more extensive drink menu than food, but I think they prefer to do a few dishes well. I must say the "Mexican" corn on the cob and burritos are my favorites so far. Be prepared to wait, as the line can be out to the street the entire time you are dining. The line moves but never seems to get any shorter; that's how popular this place can be.

Honestly, people need to stop lying. Food is decent. Definitely not real Mexican. Not one Mexican in sight. I like to see my Mexican food handled by Mexicans for authenticity. The service is an order up at the stand and wait for food. So not to much interaction with workers but overall the experience was not good. Unfortunately will not be back.
P.S ALL my brothers and sisters that like good food stand clear. Not to mention water being served out of an igloo 10 gallon container.

Great food, fun atmosphere and helpful staff. Just wish the line wasn't so long at dinner. But overall love it!

Had the fish taco and barbacoa mulitaand the queso dip. The queso was excellent! Very tasty!
The mulita was excellent as well. Quite flavorful.
Unfortunately, the fish tacos were not it. The fish had no flavor, was way overcooked, the slaw flavorless as well. At the least, use garlic, blk pepper and salt on the fish. Make the slaw with Cilantro, Lime and orégano and a dash of sugar or honey for favor. The café olla is a no go. The hot chocolate is a no go. Both watered down. I will give them great customer service!

My husband and I are BEYOND frustrated. We have ordered take out and delivery now five times, each time the restaurant forgets to add the salsa packets to our order. Tonight we even called and asked what we should do to make sure we get salsa, the woman on the phone said that we should write it in the comment section which we did, again no salsa was delivered. We will never be ordering take out or delivery from El tesoro again, we have been burned too many times.

The outside eating was new but it's not a bad place to grab some food.

The ambiance is on point, the cocktails are strong, and the food is good. Certainly not the best or most memorable I’ve had, but nicely made and enjoyable, and combined with a wonderful atmosphere. El Tesoro is a nice place to hang out. There’s no table service here either. You order and pickup at the counter. Now, this place is popular, so the line to order can get pretty long, so here’s a tip. Have someone from your party wait in the food line while the others head to the bar for drink orders. That queue is shorter and faster, so you’ll have refreshment while you wait.

Parking: There are no parking spots here so you’ll need to find a spot on the street and walk.

1st time! The lady that took our order wasn't very friendly. Almost like we were interrupting her. We got a variety of items as it was our first time. The cheese dip was really good. Would definitely try it again, especially in the summer time!

Got food poisoning from the vegetarian burrito and end up having to go to urgent care.

It was not worth the 50$ for 6 tacos and 2 cokes. The meat was the driest I've ever had, the tortillas were cold and hard, not worth it at all. Just go to a REAL Mexican restaurant!

Hard review to write because I LOVE this place within the sit down restaurant context. However, their delivery service is questionable at best. It’s been literally 7-8 times within the past year that we’ve ordered queso and not received tortilla chips, and we’ve had other consistent
order mishaps. If you order through any third party delivery apps, just be sure to literally spell out the complete order within the notes for the delivery person because the chances of the restaurant getting it right is less than 50%

El Tesoro is a fun, laid back spot to have traditional Mexican food. Ambiance is always great with it's open air seating. I also like that they're open throughout the day and have plenty of street parking. Drinks are solid too, especially their Paloma which comes in a Jarritos bottle. I'm giving it 3 stars because, except for the carne asada burrito, it's lacking in the food department. Some insight:

- Salsas come in plastic packets that you have to tear open, which means it's not made fresh daily.
- They give you a tiny little lime with each taco. I'm used to getting 1/4 of a lime at Mexican restaurants but this is 1/8.
- It's happened to me twice already where the taco corn tortilla falls apart and I have to eat the taco meat with a fork.
- When you order an agua fresca, there's a ton of ice in the glass so it feels like you're paying for a half full glass.

I know these may seem like small, insignificant things, but they add up and it makes it hard to justify their prices of $5 a taco and $14 per burrito. Still, a fun place to eat and hang overall, even though I would not label it as an authentic Mexican restaurant.

My daughter is vegetarian, and ordered the two vegetarian taco options. Both were served with meat in them! She brought it to the staffs attention, and they brought her two new tacos, one of which still had meat! Not sure what's going on back in that kitchen!
