Super cute little restaurant my friend and I visited for her birthday. They had a nice wine list and the food was great! Will visit again
Couple small service hiccups when we first sat down but the rest of the night was smooth. The scuppernong sour cocktail is right up my alley and it was delicious. Good old fashioned too. Looked like a good wine list and though it's not a great place for beer, they had ok options in bottles/cans for a very reasonable price. The food was great. Bacon wrapped shrimp was maybe a little tough but tasted good and the sourdough was excellent. I got the chicken schnitzel and it was perfectly fried with some very tasty accoutrements. My wife got the mushroom gnocchi and that was also fantastic. The decor inside feels a bit like being in a hotel business center but I'd gladly enjoy that meal in a drafty shack.
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian small plates, one vegetarian entree. You could easily have a whole veggie meal.
I had not been here in probably a dozen years and recalled a fantastic meal from when it first opened. I am happy to see it has retained its unique charm and quality when we were taken there again by friends. First there are the imaginative cocktails. Try the botanist and substitute vodka for the gin if you like. I had the grilled artichoke and chicken schnitzel. There are several categories such as "from the land," from the farm," and "from the sea," each with about five choices. It is a very diverse menu so you are bound to find something to like. The service was impeccable and we were treated well as we lingered over a very long meal. It has a very subdued and quiet interior with tables spaced far apart. I would return in a heartbeat.
If you need astounding food and impeccable service, this is it. I cannot over sell this place, it's fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.I will be back!
I loved the ambiance and vibes of this place — it was something out of a movie with a very quiet outside area, but as soon as you pass the 90s-esque grunge windows, you enter into a wonderfully large space. The seats were nice, and each area was divided into rooms, along with a small curtain separating your table from the main walkway. The initial bread was given, and the olive oil carried all the wonderful flavor, I wish the bread was warm, however, and that would’ve made it easier to chew. I did not like my drink very much (Dressed to Kill), so I would probably get something else, or nothing at all. I also thought it was creative to create celery bitters, but the drink (Body Double) was not my cup of tea either. The Brussel Sprouts were very tasty, although I wish there was some flaky sea salt sprinkled on top as garnish. The meals were quite nice! The Chicken Schnitzel was very flavorful and paired excellently with the apples and ricotta. The Braised Lamb Gnocchi was excellent! The gnocchi was so pillowy and fluffy and the sauce and lamb was absolutely to die for. After a while, I thought the dish became a little too salty for my liking, but I have been told I am sensitive to salt so that was probably it. All in all, I loved both dishes. The Gateau Victoire and Strawberry Hand Pie were excellent desserts. Would highly recommend whatever variation of hand pie being served because the flavors are there and it is uniquely in its crispy shell. I love a flourless chocolate cake and the Gateau Victoire was no exception. Loved the combination with the whipped cream. Yum!Now some cons: The cushioned seats were comfortable, yes, but provided no lumbar support and were at an almost 90° angle. Hard to find a comfortable resting incline. The servers were pretty nice, however the service was a little slow. I imagine it’s due to a shortage in servers (pay servers higher!!), but our server was extremely kind and thoughtful and we were celebrating so the Gateau Victoire was on the house! All in all, would eat here again! Also love that the menu seems to rotate!
We went here about a year ago and had a great meal. This time unfortunately was just average. My meatball entree was ok, not much flavor. The starters were very good though. We had the piccolo, burata and beet salad for starters.
Very good experience. The industrial setting and feel is tempered with soft airy colors and comfy decor that includes separate small quiet table areas with long billowy curtains and large windows overlooking a greening marshy forest. The staff is lean yet attentive, friendly and helpful. The two of us began at the bar with very nicely crafted cocktails and pleasant chatter. Then on to dinner where we both decided to share everything. We started with a delightful pate topped with pickled onions spread on crusty bread and a bountiful serving of sliced mushrooms in a light wine sauce. We also shared a small plate of octopus and fingerling potatoes with a finely chopped garnish also in a light sauce. And for the main dish we shared a deeply lush duck gnocchi topped with spinach in a rich satisfying sauce. This was accompanied with a bottle of Chardonnay for a lengthy delightful and comfortable meal. Perfect!
Lovely setup and atmosphere. Wanted to complain about the steak (see picture), but waited for more than 30 minutes and the server never showed up (he showed up finally when I was writing this review but he just briefly checked the nearby table and went away).
Maybe the food used to be delicious but the food I ate last night was bland. Polenta had zero taste, like watered down grits without cheese or butter or salt, the lamb was a wonderful texture but brought no flavor, as if the sauce was just a color. The veal meatballs’ sauce tasted just like what I’d pour out of a jar at home, except more salty and the pasta was mushy and over cooked. The service was great. But the best part of the meal was the salad and the beer (not on draft). Has anyone talked about the low-seated benches and the regular height chairs? If you sit on the cushioned bench the table will probably be about at your collar bone. What a strange mismatch and so weird that jo one has fixed this yet. I had to switch seats with my husband and then I felt like I was a talk show host interviewing my guest far down below me. How have they not fixed this yet? ?
The food was absolutely fantastic, but the service was really lacking. Upon learning that it was our first time dining here, she didn't describe anything, or really make any recommendations. Was also very very slow to return and check on us. Every person in my group ordered and app, entree, and dessert so it wasn't as though we were skimping. Sadly missed up sell opportunities. Management is either doing a bad job at training, or they are doing nothing to make sure staff is keep up standards. Sadly a miss for me.

We didn't read the reviews before going and I'm glad we didn't. It would have dissuaded us from going and caused us to miss out on a wonderful and tasty meal. We had the octopus and both ordered the lamb. We had a wonderful evening. Our waiter was attentive and we never wanted for anything. We will be going again. The food was exquisite and perfectly done. And there was bread Service to whoever said there wasn't... although it needed butter and not olive oil. But that's just my preference. 11/10 would go again!
Nice vibe, intimate setting, private and social distance style seating...food was great, drinks were delicious...wait staff and Manager were wonderful!
Maybe we had too high of expectations for a restaurant affiliated with Bacchanalia, which we absolutely love, and maybe we are just spoiled by the amazing food scene in Atlanta, but what a disappointment. The food was good but not great, and our waiter David was inattentive and we never saw him from the time we ordered to the time we paid the check which was delivered without even asking about our meal. This was a management fail and we won't be back. We are sensitive to the strains of running a restaurant during this challenging time but there are too many wonderful culinary options getting it right and seem to care about our experience.
It’s been many years since we have eaten at Floataway and it was nice to see the restaurant has expanded into adjacent spaces. Our server Ellie and staff were excellent and attentive. I had the chicken liver pâté as an app for the table and the mushroom brick oven pizza while wifey had the spinach and ricotta ravioli.Wifey enjoyed her ravioli and said it was very rich and tasty. My pizza crust was a bit overdone but that is normal for brick oven pizza. Still, it took away from the extremely light taste of the mushrooms which detracted considerably from my enjoyment. What I expected was a mushroom rich white pizza — what I got was burned crust and barely appetizing mushrooms with tasteless white cheese. So I don’t recommend ordering that as your entrée.The experience lived up to our expectations for the restaurant but the food was less than what we remember. Tiny bit of a letdown but we’ll be back because we love how unique Floataway is. We just won’t order Italian food at a French establishment any more.
Don't hold a function here! We were at a family wedding reception and had dreadful service. It took 1.5 hours for the main course to show up after the appetizers and there was NO SERVICE while we waited. No drinks, no wine, no water, no table clearing. We had to help ourselves. Maybe they forgot we were there?
