This place is the epitome of hole in the wall chic. The atmosphere is trendy and the vibes are chill. We ordered their Gaja style and soy garlic fried chicken, their scallion pancake, and some fried rice. Everything was a solid 10/10 and this place is Steph approved!

I love Gaja’s food and always enjoy the atmosphere and experience here. I went last Thursday with my dad and was refused to be seated by one of the servers Holly. She barely stopped to speak to us and then said “you can sit at the bar, I don’t have any tables” when there were clearly tables available. I was really looking forward to eating there. I came back on Sunday and luckily she was not there. I got the fried chicken, short ribs, scallion pancake and kimchi and it was all delicious, I left super satisfied and happy. Our bartender was really nice too.

Solid Korean dive joint, with flavorful food and quick service. I came in around dinner time on a Saturday, got a seat right away, and had food on the table in no time. The cocktails are fun, the cold noodles were delicious and refreshing, and the bulgogi came out steaming hot. My only issue was I didn't have another stomach to try more!
The small plate style is great for trying many things.

So I usually tip for my service at establishments, i have friends in the service industry. The food amazing, the service was poor and I do not tip for poor service. I was already charged for using my card which totled my bill to $70.62. If I could've have tipped the chef, I would have because again the food was outstanding. I say all this to say after the pending charge if $70.62 settled, it was now $75.62. This means they tipped themselves another $5.00. You took money that was not owed or earned. Yes, you are in an industry that is undervalued, but this time no tip was a reflection of the service. Check your receipts and bank statements when using your card. I will now have to use cash in order for this not to be an issue again. Very disappointing for a first time visit with the food being so good.

Gaja is lowkey racist or has some personal problems caused by how the bartenders and staff treat customers. I usually like getting bibimbap, but noticed there was no egg. I'm still trying to figure who made the mistake because I watched my partner whip out his card to pay but the girl working the bar got aggressive, took our food and threw it all out then preceded to start arguing until things escalated and she started with targeting me to leave. I've never been treated so rudely as a veteran and we're not broke either, so that made me uncomfortable. Next thing I know there was a tall blonde guy in my face yelling and the girl was cackling that she called the police, so she was very aggressive, very rude, and overall problematic towards me as a black veteran. Her outbursts along with the coy young man led to triggering me and we simply left, but her attitude and bringing others into her conflict is but not a good look on this place no matter what excuses the restaurant had for trying to kick us out, and if we did pay, we absolutely expect an apology. If it wasn't paid for, I apologize in behalf of my partner and my own disabilities and misunderstanding from the beginning, but my partner has never skipped a bill.
My partners drink tasted great but mine was sub-par and notably much smaller.

Cool vibes if you’re here to drink and hangout at the bar, but that’s all it’s going going for it. Don’t come here if you’re expecting to actually sit down and eat. Food is atrocious and location / entrance is very sketchy.
🥞Scallion Pancake (Pajeon) ❌❌❌
I give this one ZERO stars. Actually the worst “Korean” pancake I’ve ever had in my life and I’m not even exaggerating. Just look at the picture. It’s just a regular pancake with a few green onions in the middle. Both flavor and texture were not good. The sauce didn’t make it better either as it was so salty I can’t even tell what kind of sauce it should be.
🥩 Beef Short Ribs ⭐️
I WOULD give this one zero stars as well but it gets a star for being better than the Pajeon. Flavor wasn’t bad, but definitely more salty than it should’ve been. The issue is that there’s barely any meat on these pieces. I love fat but you can’t have half the pieces just being mostly fat. The pickled radish that came with it was also completely flavorless. The rice was the best part 😭

Karaoke was so fun, and the mocktail I had was delicious. Great and quick service with a laid back environment! Didn’t take any pics but here’s my nails

We got the spicy korean pork, pork belly and kimchi fried rice. Pork belly was amazing. The spicy pork was okay… and the kimchi fried rice was not it. But overall pretty good for the price.
Alcohol here is really cheap, a bottle of soju 3-4 bucks?! Im definitely coming here to pre.
Service was good, except for the dirty spoons given to us but replaced later.

This place never answers the phone. On a Tuesday night I called at least 6 times over an hour period to place an order (since they disabled their online system and are not on any apps).
I get that places get busy but, why not at least answer your phone to say as much? Its also not the first time, its very common. It should not be this hard to order food. And you can’t expect people to come in and wait inside a busy restaurant for togo. Seems like they are content with only jn person dining in customers and ignore all calls.

Hidden gem in ATL! Gaja is hands-down one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. Tucked away in East Atlanta Village, it’s a hidden gem that delivers authentic Korean flavors with a funky, playful edge. The space has such a cool vibe, neon lights, exposed brick, steel beams, and Korean punk-inspired artwork make it feel like you’ve stumbled into a late-night Seoul street bar.
The service is consistently warm and attentive, our server even gave me a heads-up about the spice level on the fire chicken (which I was excited about and yes it lived up to the name).
I love dining family-style whenever I come here, especially when I’m visiting from out of town. Some of my favorites: the scallion pancake, brussels sprouts, tofu stir fry, and that insanely good fire chicken. Their frozen whiskey cocktail was dangerously good. It was tough to stop at just one
If you're looking for unique and bold flavors, great drinks, and a fun, high-energy setting Gaja is a must
