The service was excellent but the food was sub par. At best. Considering the price point I would not recommend it. The short rib was good but the polenta it was served on was not great. The "Moroccan spiced" fish was tiny and overcooked with little flavor. I am convinced a high Michelin rating means absolutely nothing. We really did enjoy the banana dessert though. But We're going to hattie Bs.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had. We love trying new spaces in Atlanta. The servers were out of line. The food was good but in combo with experience it wasn’t worth it. I would truly say they need to work on service and hospitality. The only thing restaurants survive on. Check your selves. You have failed.

Nice ambience, however food was mediocre at best. Nothing special overall. We found it rather cheap and below board that the restaurant served the Szechuan Scallop main entreé having sliced ONE single scallop into four pieces, dishing it alongside an entire half a head of cabbage. We will not be returning.

Really enjoyed my meal. Food was quite tasty just wish portions were a bit larger but honestly was delicious. Gratuity is factored into the menu so keep that in mind that server is already being compensated. CASH not accepted for payment. Credit card only.

Nice vibe. Food was good. They honored our reservation in a timely fashion and they did not mind only 4 of 5 of us showed up for our reservation. Problems were there was a 8" hair inside my Low Comotion smoked beverage and there was a small pebble in my risotto.

Our reservation ended being on a night in which they had a lot of late diners due to ATL weather and traffic. We waited to be seated for 45 minutes at a dive bar a few doors down. The hostess could tell we were not at all happy. BUT, this is where the story gets great. Once we were finally seated, and the hostess always kept a smile, our waiter showed up quickly and also with a great attitude. He also apologized and told us our first drinks would be on the house which immediately lightened our mood. He walked us through the menu, and everything we ordered was amazing! The cassoulet was slap yo momma good, as we say in the south! The next huge surprise came at the end when we got the bill. They also removed our 2 appetizers from the bill as a thanks for being patient with them. The companies that truly get it in service realize that issues will arise, but it’s how you recover that can make all the difference. They truly get it at Southern Belle. We’ll be back for sure, and you should go too if in The A!

Consistently excellent food and cocktails at a reasonable price point (remember that posted prices include service). I went previously when they had the fixed menu and it was amazing. I came again recently after they switched to a la carte and it was still very good. The latest time I joined, our waiter seemed perhaps new so the service was not as good as before. Still an overall very good experience and one that I would recommend.

Celebrated my 29th birthday here and it was such a lovely experience. Our waiter was amazing (gentleman with glasses) but the GA short rib was BUSSIN! Lord have mercy i hace dreams about that short rib. Only thing that would make the experience better is if they celebrated birthdays. Over all great experience though

Fabulous! Staff indulged our request to pair food and drinks and deliver us several courses without specifying orders. It made for a fun and exciting meal experience in a lovely eclectic little restaurant. Highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants. We've been to Southern Belle three times, the hidden-away Georgia Boy once, and then once more to a special "Bless Your Heart" event dinner at SB. Every time it's the same: fantastic food and great service with a friendly, neighborhood-y vibe. Chef Joey and staff are the best.

My husband and I were in Atlanta on a business trip and booked reservations at Southern Belle. We were truly in for a memorable evening start to finish. Artsy dining room with a unique approach to food. The kitchen sends food and such a treat. We will be back!

My wife and I had a date night at Southern Belle last night, and it firmly established Southern Belle as one of our new favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The meal was exceptional, start to finish! The plates are designed for sharing (perfect for "date night"), so we split two small and two large items. We had a hard time ranking our favorite courses, as everything was utterly delicious, refined, and inventive! Our first course was a warm brussels salad, with beautifully flavorful crisp brussels melded with delicate blue cheese morsels and delightfully piquant pickled cherries. The next course (lobster paparadelle) was also delicious, but probably our least favorite of the entire lot. The lobster was tender and perfectly cooked, and the kale chips were insanely tasty, but the different elements of this complex dish didn't quite synergize together in the same way that our other courses did. Our next course was probably the highlight of the meal, the Vietnamese style "chicken and waffles." While we were worried that this might be just a gimmicky "concept" dish that wouldn't land, it actually was a perfect reflection of Chef Joey Ward's cuisine: rooted in the Southern vernacular, but with international flair and refinement! The delicate peanut waffles were the perfect accompaniment for the crispy bites of fried chicken thigh, especially when drenched with the incredible nuoc cham maple sauce and the lime butter. We almost wanted to order a second portion of these, because we completely devoured them! Our final main course was the beef short ribs on gouda grits. While not particularly inventive, it was perfectly executed, with a generous portion of fork-tender braised short rib that was perfectly complemented by the grits and delicate mustard greens. Although we were stuffed at this point, we couldn't turn away from desert. I had the Hummingbird cake (an exemplar of Southern spiced cake with nuts and pineapple), and my wife enjoyed a phenomenal chocolate tart. Our cocktails were also terrific (I had a "Big Nick Energy," their seasonal eggnog cocktail with a cinnamon liqueur). Service was excellent (besides a slight delay in getting our bill at the end of the meal). Perhaps the only complaint was the seating, as they offer mainly "highboy" chairs and tables, which are not particularly comfortable. Pricing was very fair (about $200 total for four mains, two desserts and two cocktails). The ambiance was sort of "swank, hip lounge"--tasteful, and not overly formal. We will definitely be back, and we are tempted to try the "Georgia Boy" prixe fixe experience the next time we are celebrating a special occasion!

The restaurant space is acknowledged to be small, and 4 of us at a table made that extra clear. Drinks were ok, and the waitress was kind/ knowledgeable/ helpful. We ordered some salads and some entrees - salad came out and was tasty and fresh. The entrees all came out at separate times - with mine being the last to arrive 12 minutes later than everyone else’s! Ok, it happens but here is where the evening took a turn that surprised me. We had reservations for 6:30. We arrive 15 minutes late due to traffic but were seated right away, the restaurant wasn’t full or busy. In the timeline of the dining experience I got my entree at 8:15. We were told we had to vacate our table at 8:30 due to the restaurant needing that spot for another reservation. WOW. A number of factors could have changed my negative experience here, but clearly stating this policy would be a good start. None of us in the group of 4 was happy about this and don’t plan to return. I’ll make sure to let all of our friends know and I am posting about this elsewhere too. Southern Belle - you need to do better.
