Good bteakfast! Fast. Real food. Like mama makes.
My friend and I dined at the Getaway Cafe for breakfast. I ordered a cheese omelet. I was imaging the thick, fluffy omelets loaded with cheddar cheese that I have had at any number of diners in the past. This one was the thinnest omelet I've ever seen. It had a very thin line of orange running through the middle. They had obviously used a slice of processed cheese. The omelet was brown from overcoming. And it was tasteless! Also the coffee was bitter and lukewarm. The only good thing I can say about the Getaway Cafe is that it was inexpensive! My advice: Don't bother!

Awesome breakfast!!
Fair prices for a piping hot breakfast. Croissant sandwiches are buttery, very tasty. They do not season anything, so you will have to do it yourself.

nice people. incredible food , low prices . what more could you ask for
Super friend staff and amazing food! Everyone was so friendly and helpful but, most importantly, the food was SO good! My husband and I both got different omelets and both were so good. We ate until we were beyond stuffed because the food was THAT good! He got a Bloody Mary that was one of the best I’ve had out here and I got a mimosa. Perfect little brunch atmosphere and set up! ❤️ You can not visit Lake Tahoe and pass this honey up!
Great food, great location.
Mom and pop restraunt, buffet style and a few made to order items.

Rude, nasty and disrespectful cashiers. Terrible customer service
I do not recommend. We looked at reviews and was really excited to go there only to find out it was an absolute complete bust. Frozen biscuits gave seem like it came from a can and the sausage was so thin I was expecting to cractchet to be our guest. Needless to say complete waste of money time and gas

The Getaway Cafe is my family’s favorite place for brunch! The staff is amazing and the food is incredible - an absolute 10/10 every single time. The best place to eat in Tahoe, hands down.
Really good breakfast and very nice people.
