Horrible, tried calling a for a take out order lady with accent hang up the phone 4 times prior to answering (I’m a persistent individual) just to reply: where not taking to go order today and I asked maybe if I go there just to end with a nice no and hang up
Btw y’all’s white fish is fishy bro, that’s why wayaga is taking y’all’s business

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. For a group of six, only one menu was provided, which felt disorganized and inconvenient. Additionally, one of the plates brought to our table was already cracked, which should never have been served.
Due to a mistake by the staff, we ended up discussing the matter with the owner, but his behavior was shockingly unprofessional. He was aggressive, dismissive, and unable to handle the situation in a constructive manner. This completely overshadowed the meal and left a very negative impression.
We cannot recommend this place, as the lack of professionalism and poor service ruined the experience.

1/15/2024 Edit:
I want to edit my 5-Star review from several years ago. I have loved coming here for so many years and have brought so many people. Unfortunately, that ends tonight.
There was absolutely no customer service tonight. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, not a single staff member spoke to me. Not in english or Japanese. While sitting at the Bar, I watched as Momo-san the chef asked my neighbors if they needed anything, yet he never once acknowledged me, and i sat right in front of him. If i never waived anyone down, I would have sat there for 2 hours without a single person helping me. I don't understand what has happened. The beautiful Japanese spirit behind the magical atmosphere was gone. I had several issues with my food quality too... for example my ice cream was hard as a rock, my spoon was not able to even get 1 mm into it.

High quality, authentic Japanese food. Wonderful staff as well. Been coming here for years and it’s always a treat.

I was really looking forward to trying out this place, but sadly, I left feeling a bit disappointed. Maybe we just didn't pick the right dishes?
I'm a huge fan of ramen, but not just any ramen, the kind that's made with love and attention to detail. When it came time to order, I couldn't decide between the tonkotsu and the miso ramen. I usually go for tonkotsu, but this time I went with the spicy miso with chicken. I also decided to try their tempura sushi, the Georgian roll, and the beef curry.
The beef curry was a winner, but the ramen and sushi were just okay 🫤
The service was also okay.

This is our 3rd time here and each time is was Hard to get service we was ignored and left at the table I had to walk up to the counter to place another the other order and the other times it just took a really long time. I just won’t come back honestly. The restaurant is two seconds big and never no more then 5 other tables occupied that unacceptable

Good food,great people,fantastic atmosphere 🍻
My favorite Japanese dining experience in Atlanta so far. The menu is extensive and has a variety of Japanese cuisine to try beyond Ramen and Sushi. Love the authentic and cozy decor. Highly recommend!

My son chose Ginya Izakaya for his birthday dinner (our family tradition). The food was good, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was perfect.
We enjoyed small plating our way through dinner. The rainbow roll was a big hit with everyone, and the fried chicken skin was amazing. Only mom liked the sauteed lotus, but she really liked it.
We'd go back for a special occasion, even though it's an hour and a half from Western Georgia.
Parking: Parking is free for three hours, but you must register using a QR code.
We had no difficulty finding parking at 18:30 on a Saturday. Your mileage may vary depending on time and day.

I've been going to Ginya since they first opened. We survived a pandemic together, and I'm glad they're still going strong.
The parking used to be free, but now there's a QR code to scan to park. The first couple hours are free so not at all a deal breaker, just something to keep in mind.
On the weekends spaces fill up fast for dinner, and even some weeknights so plan accordingly. Luckily there are a lot of types of seating arrangements, from small tables, to sushi bar, to larger group seatings emulating Japanese style restaurants (the kind where the table is hip height, you sit on the floor but there is a well in the floor for your legs under the table).
Once you make it through the parking lot and get a seat, then the food will keep you coming back for more. On top of the familiar sashimi, nigiri, and sushi rolls, Ginya also offers Japanese staples. Friends and I split appetizers like takoyaki (fried dough with small pieces of octopus), sukiyaki korokke (a Japanese style croquette), yakitori (meat on a skewer, with chicken skin in teriyaki sauce being my absolute favorite), and agedashi tofu (fried silken tofu in a fish broth). For sushi rolls, the salmon skin is my go-to. Once friends and I make it through the appetizers, we round out the meal with entrees like ramen, rice bowl, or udon. Even though I can make Japanese curry at home, there are many nights I'd rather let someone else do the cooking, and Ginya's tonkotsu curry (Japanese curry with a fried pork cutlet) never disappoints. Being an izakaya (a Japanese bar), Ginya has an extensive beer and sake selection as well.
If there are any negative things to say about Ginya, it's that it's hard to find gluten free or vegan options here, though I'd argue that's a Japanese cuisine problem and less Ginya problem.

Very interesting time to say the least. Out of all the people and tables in the establishment we were definitely the most unattended and uninvited. For starters we ordered two rolls at the same time one came out 20 minutes before the other. Our server wouldn’t make eye contact and would only spend 30 seconds at max at our table and wouldn’t bother to explain the complicated and odd menu. The only time they came by with urgency was when we attempted to pay….
