Front serviceman was rude twice. Should have been the red flag of not eating dinner there.
Table service was fine and fun.
Appetizers were ok at best.
Table bread was atrocious (did they sprinkle AJAX on it???).
Prime Rib is famous? Gross. Gave a coworker a raw slice when ordered medium. I mean you can see the slice so how was it brought out like this?
My filet was nearly raw and charred black when I ordered it medium.
Story? This place is a JOKE!

You should not run out of your dinner special (prime rib)...why have a special?
We tried Highland Tap for dinner on a Friday. Reservations are recommended. We didn’t have one but were able to get a spot. Our waiter was Corey and he was phenomenal. We tried a steak and burger and also the caprese salad. Everything was delicious. Cooked perfectly. Their bread and butter blend is amazing as well. We parked on the street not knowing there is a parking lot behind the building. We had a great experience and are looking forward to next time.

I called in to speak with a manager , a lady picked up the phone (sounded like a white woman in her 30s,40s) very condescending, didn’t even say have a nice day or anything. Just hung up the phone after my question. Very unprofessional. If you don’t like your job, don’t work there.

Always great. I don’t even like chicken pot pie but if I’m there on Thursday it’s what I’m ordering. Never had a bad experience

Awesome burger and prime rib was cooked perfectly and the French onion soup was some of the best I've had and the desserts were very good, only disappointment was the onion rings as they were still hard but our server was on point and we were in and out in a timely manner.. thank you

This was our (my girl & I) second time back with a bad experience, except we didn’t get to eat this time. The manager lady called us babies over her waiter getting an order wrong last time in a very belittling way & this time we couldn’t get a table without it rocking everywhere even to the point the glasses almost fell off the table… Couldn’t get moved to a different open table before ordering so we decided to leave… Funny enough, we went to Fountaines upstairs prior to eating there just to wait 35-45 minutes… Same owner ironically, but the vibe is much more family friendly & the service is impeccable. S/o to EJ from Fountaines for the amazing service today btw… Highland Tap needs an attitude & maybe even a racial equality adjustment… Whew. Probs won’t go again & it’s sad having grown up in Virginia Highlands & having went to Grady HS (Midtown, now).

This is my go-to place with my friends. A cool underground bar with a wonderful food and drink menu. They have a sizeable variety of beers on tap, even my favorite seasonal Oktoberfest beer.
The daily deals are also amazing, with a monday prime rib and tuesday burger deals always bringing me in.
Surprisingly, the Escargot is a must try here.
Never had a bad experience here, you should definitely try it if you haven't already.
Parking: Behind the storefront is a valet lot. I usually just find street parking for free (but limited spaces) or park across the street next to the woodworking shop, where the valet is a bit cheaper.

Parking in this neighborhood is not the best. There is a parking lot with valet parking for the customers. You can find street parking in the neighborhood. It never takes me long to get parking but I hate finding parking this way.
You can clearly see the venue from the street at the corner. You must walk downstairs for the establishment. Please watch your step.
Bar is huge and has a ton of drinks. Two people were manning the bar and they were busy the entire time. The service was still good. I ordered a Manhattan which was strong. The drink came in a martini glass and another on a chiller. Biggest bang for your buck.
It was Monday so I got the Prime Rib special (10oz) blackened with a loaded baked potato. I sent the Prime Rib back to be cooked more because it was cold. It tasted good once I got it back.
