Best steakhouse in Atlanta hands down. Nothing can compete with its history.

Had a fun night at Highland Tap. Steaks were excellent - both the fillet and the NY strip - cooked to perfection. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive, helped us select the starters and mains, gave great recs, baked potatoes, collards, shrimps. The only slight drawbacks were the Martinis were pretty average and the caprese salad didn't have any flavor. But will definitely be back!

Service was outstanding! Prime rib just a bit too rare for our taste( our fault) but Doug, our server handled it very quickly and the outcome was excellent. Drinks were excellent as well. First time there but we will come back

We thought the atmosphere was fun being underground. The prime rib was delicious. The mashed potatoes were fine once we added salt and pepper. The meatloaf was not very good. The green beans were absolutely delicious. The onion rings batter was flavorless. The spinach and artichoke dip is better at other restaurants.

Visited here while on a work trip to the Atlanta Market. Our service was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy and vibing. The food was delicious. I highly recommend trying this gem of a place out. I would however recommend making a reservation like we did as they seemed to get slammed fast even on a week day.

A Perfect Neighborhood Steakhouse Experience!
We had an amazing dinner at Highland Tap and it exceeded expectations from start to finish!
First off, no wait at all when we arrived – walked right in and got seated immediately. The location in Virginia-Highland is awesome – cozy, subterranean vibe that’s classic Atlanta.
We started with the spinach artichoke dip, which was really good – creamy, flavorful, and a great shareable app. For the main, the Guinness marinated steak was absolutely outstanding – tender, perfectly cooked, with that rich, malty flavor that made it one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while.
We finished by splitting a slice of Baileys cheesecake for dessert (the portions are huge, so sharing was the way to go – decadent, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending).
This place is exactly what a hearty pub should be: great drinks, solid food, relaxed atmosphere, and no pretension. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back!

Highland Tap in Virginia Highlands is a standout restaurant that delivers on every front. The service is exceptional - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff who genuinely care about the dining experience.
The dirty martinis are a highlight, expertly crafted with the perfect balance of dirty and dry. As for the food, the steak is cooked to perfection, the sides are creative and delicious, and the desserts are a sweet treat.
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great steak, Highland Tap is a must-visit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the quality of the food and service is consistently high. A true gem.

First time visiting & we had an awesome time! We arrived around 5:45 PM for dinner and did not experience a wait for a party of 3. By the time we left, though, there was definitely a wait. The atmosphere was lively and fun on a Saturday night. We got an app (spinach & artichoke dip), two entrees (fried chicken & the stout marinated sirloin steak), and the Bailey’s chocolate chip cheesecake. The portions were generous and the food was tasty. We will definitely be back!
